  • We tried "skopo", also known as the sheeps head or "smiley" in South Africa. Skopo is cooked by a multitude of cultures. With its soft squishy meatiness and unique aroma, skopo makes for a great meal at the centre of the dinner table to share between friends and family.
Whilst we'll admit this is a highly acquired taste!, the skopo prepared by Metheto's kitchen was a dainty and well cleaned portion to start any beginner off; and it comes with a generous serving of chakalaka (South African tomato relish) and hearty steamed dumplings!
A skopo at the local Cape Town take- away, Metheto's kitchen with all its sides and relishes, costs ZAR/ R 100 or USD/ $ 6. We'd recommend getting a cider to go with it and you're good to plate up for the evening!
