Features are overrated. Sound quality and build quality are king and queen for me. If you're not getting that everything else is useless. And the Edifier W240TN absolutely excel in those two points. The sound is outstanding, so good that I found myself going through all my favorite music just to enjoy it again like new. Those coaxial drivers work wonder in managing all the layers of music. I have very eclectic taste in music, old and new, rock and pop, metal and classical, jazz and electronic, everything sounds amazing. I love the physical button, it feels premium, just use your thumb and other finger to take the sides, and use your pointer to click on it. I use the ANC in the gym and the park and works perfectly maintaining the same sound quality. Same for transparency. And yes, controls are limited, but once you decide what you really need you program it like that. I use next track, volume up and switching between ANC and transparency. And finally, the EQ is parametric, what sound pros use. You need some knowledge and practice to use it but is well worth it.
Speak for yourself, I do think sound is the main thing but features are really important as well. In ear detections, intuitive touch controls, … are awesome
I have similar needs, in last 10 years in my another earbuds I use only volume, transparency and ANC even if I have there much more options, and sound quality is just number 1 thing and nr 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 number 9 is functionality.
do you not get random sound cut offs with edifier?
Agreed. I've tried a whole bunch of earbuds based on what I hear about the sound quality and a lot of them shit the bed within 6 months (including 2 different sets of Sennheiser's). The issue is that no one bothers to test long term use before they spit out a positive review and you really have to dig to find anything out about build quality.

For me, sound and anc is most important, and I was thinking about getting the space a40s but then I heard that clip from aaron wireless and immediately lost interest due to how little bass they had. So glad to find one with good scores in these two areas

I don't know if you can get the Donner Do buds in Australia but at 49$ US I got the white ones for 35$ they knocked it out of the park. All of the features perform above my expectations but it's the sound quality that rocks. Dual drivers 12mm + balanced armatures. Really good volume I choose these too listen to over my Live Pro2's. I got these for 60 dollars and I think they are a bargain. Yes the controls are finicky and should be more well rounded. But the sound apparently makes up for it. 😄👌

how are these compared to the tws1 pro? are they an upgrade? I love the way the tws1 pro sound, the bass is really impressive and clear.
I haven’t tried them in a while but from memory I prefer the 240. The trebble isnt as forward and you get a similar clean bass response of the tws1 pro

I just bought the 240TN for $55. Really like the sound but feel like Frankenstein wearing them. I use them for work and wear them until they die. Controls are wonky. Definitely enjoy music on them. I mostly listen to Metal and Trance.

Nice! Yea sound stage goes to the engine 4 and a fuller mid bass response. Overall engine 4 sound slightly better but the trebble is nicer on the 240tn. It’s pretty close overall

What happened to Galaxy buds pro in your rating ?
How are they as far as volume level? I need a super loud, tons of bass set to simply use for watching movies on a tablet that has very low volume via bluetooth headphones etc. I even went into developer options and disabled the absolute volume restrictor but still the volume is low.
You can get louder earbuds but I think the 240 should still be loud enough. Hard to say I don't know how low volume your tablet is

Do you have any recommendations for budget waterproof earbuds (not necessarily ANC)? I was thinking earfun free 2s but its hard to find any reviews on non anc buds. Even your video comparing all the earfun headphones didn't include them. Thanks for making these vids they are entertaining and informative.
Thanks! Yea I honestly don't know many IPX7 earbuds without ANC.... The Earfun Free 2 came out with the 2S upgrade I haven't tried it though. SoundPEATS True Free 2 is a solid option that is usually pretty cheap
I just got those to replace Redmi buds Pro3.
Overall, they are better, especially in sound quality, I can actually enjoy music with these.
However, they have 1 major flaw: I work and sleep in a noisy environment so need ANC earbuds to rest. But these have an OBNOXIOUSLY loud voice shouting at that me the battery is low, thus waking me in panic, instead of the low gong of the Redmi’s.
In general the statues voice is too loud and is not adjustable.
I’m going to try these Edifiers for 2 months, but will probably be buying another set of inferior Redmi’s for offshore rest.

Yea they’re not bad when training. I use the AirPods Pro 2, nothing ear 2, jbl live pro 2 but mainly sennhieser momentum 3. It really depends if the fit works for you

No, I compared it to sennheiser cx plus, it's just like5-10% percent less crispier and clearer sound (vocals specifically. The sound quality is really good. Customization also makes it more boosted overall. It's a bargain really

I'm comparing this product with Sennheiser Momentum 3 which might be wrong comparison as there is pricing delta between both the products. Unfortunately I'm not able to get demo of Sennheiser momentum 3 in my location and therefore want your help to decide on my final decision to buy this ones. Now with recent price drop and offers I'm getting Sennheiser momentum 3 at $205 in Mumbai(India) Pls suggest which one to go for as sole objective is listening to all types of Music and not making calls or any other purpose. My budget is between $200 to $240 max. Hope currently this are the best ones as it is convenient to carry as compared to over the ear headphones and light weight. I just snagged em for 40 I have a pair a pixel series A buds n they are meh , looking for a better sound , hope I find just better sound that's all I care about above every thing else
I got them today and I think high tones are to high to crispy , like little needles attacking your hiring and when you want go down with them overall sound looses quality. Bass is beautiful and clear , mid tones little in shadow but not much.. I compare them to galaxy buds 2+. And they haves one big minus in my opinion! When you ride bicycle you hear wind so much so you loose half of content you listen to. No mater what mode you use. Galaxy buds without ANC are blocking all of it, funny is that Galaxy buds works better without noise canceling than this buds which have it as a software. In the end I will use them and I like them, maybe not for bicycle.

Everyone saying that's this cheap buds sounds great in this price range but what it means for real ? It means they are good as a cheap or generally they great compare to more expensive models? How big is sound difference between 100$ and 200$ buds? Maybe in conclusion we should not pay double or triple for bigger brands. I do not have any problems with paying almost 300$ for fancy stuff but if I pay just for brand than I don't want it, I don't like this brand obsession, I like low profile stuff , just for me not to show up around.
Roughly when you go from a $100 earbud to a $200 earbud the sound quality improvement isn’t relative to the price increase. Its only like a 10 - 20% improvement.
