I had a buds 2 pro and had to return it last week. The biggest issue for me was the shift in audio quality when going to from ANC to off mode. It's so different to the point where it started frustrating me. I am someone that barely uses anc so i have it off most of the time. But god the sound is horrible ( bass is non existent and the vocals are hollow ) in off mode. I used poweramp to get a better EQ setting but didn't get far.
Yea it’s a pretty big difference hey. Most buds have a pretty big EQ shift so I’ve been focusing on that in my latest reviews and adding it to my spreadsheet notes
@@pickyaudio airpods pro (2019) has near zero shift for me. I think the fit may be my issue. I use the large tips on my Pro 2's and the large tips for the Buds 3 must not fit as well. I'm getting much less volume/bass with the Buds 3 at max volume with Apple music capped at 100 decibels. So much so that I'm planning on returning them. Any ideas on cleaning the Pro 2's? I'm having lots of issues with mic quality (siri never understands me) and my in ear detection gets set off all the time (seemingly from sunshine or some shit) PS Tool FTW
@@pickyaudio nope they’ve only been used for 5 hours at best. I’m using the Hey Melody app with the exact same custom EQ and basswave. I also wish the swipe for volume did more than 5% with each swipe, any way to change that? Maybe it’s an Apple only issue IDK. I thought you mentioned that the medium ear tips made it sound worse on the Buds 3 for you, so I’m having the same issue with the large ones, problem is I don’t have a larger size to use like you did.
Thanks for your content! I would really appreciate your reply to the following. Even though it might sound unexpected, I'm comparing Oneplus Buds 3 with Technics EAH-AZ80. Details below. I know AZ80s as I'd been using them for a couple of weeks. They sound amazing. The only thing to mention is that in some songs the sound is pretty shrill, so it gets uncomfortable sometimes (not too often). But I can't say I'm satisfied with the fit. These are my first in-ear headphones, so maybe I'm just not yet used to having something actually in my ears, but I feel them pretty clearly, I would love to have a lighter feeling, to be honest. The ANC was good enough. And the microphone performance though was good enough only for quiet environment. It was mostly not acceptable to talk to people via AZ80 from outside because of some light wind or moderate surrounding noise. So based on that, I started looking for an alternative. AirPods Pro 2 turned out to have cleaner sounding mic but only for not windy conditions. The ANC is definitely better. But the sound signature... I just don't feel energy in music coming from them (as opposed to AZ80), so I realized I don't enjoy music with APP2. I guess the main things I noticed - the sound stage is narrower, and there is not enough details in highs to me, also they seem to have much less lower bass (even though I'm not a bass lover). So I ended up returning them. And then I've met these Oneplus Buds 3. I understand they are almost 3 times cheaper than AZ80, so I don't expect them to be close to each other in all disciplines. And the problem is they sold out, so I can't try them out. So I would be grateful if you share your thoughts, maybe this will help me to understand if they are worth waiting for the stock availability or I should skip them. So, the questions are: 1) How big is the sound quality difference between Buds 3 and AZ80 (subjectively, of course)? I love the instrument separation, wide sound stage, the clarity and and crispness of AZ80. How far the Buds 3 are from AZ80 in this? 2) How different Buds 3 from AZ80 in the feeling in the ears? 3) Is there a remarkable difference in the mic performance in noisy and windy conditions? I listened to the mic tests, so based on them Buds 3 seem to have way much better microphones, but maybe you have wider testing experience with both of them and can tell more details? Thanks a lot!
What would you suggest between AirPods Pro 2 vs these? I’m a college student and I’d say I prioritize sound quality of my music while I study over other aspects, as outside noise doesn’t bother me too much
Another fantastic video w comparison of the best. If you get a chance can you review the realme air 5 pro? They seem to go head to head with these, many reviewers claiming to be better than buds 3. Would love to get a review from your channel as it's my fav audio channel. Cheers!

I am a professional music producer, and I can promise you that 99.9999999999% of professional masters are exported in 24bit 44.1kHz. So 96kHz is just adding data points that don't do anything. Depending on the codec, they can even miscalculate some data points. And that only distorts the audio. If you like that distortion, cool I guess, but it's maybe not the reason you think it is.

I'm getting much less volume/bass with the Buds 3 at max volume with Apple music capped at 100 decibels. So much so that I'm planning on returning them. Any ideas on cleaning the Pro 2's? I'm having lots of issues with mic quality (siri never understands me) and my in ear detection gets set off all the time (seemingly from sunshine or some shit)
PS Tool FTW
Yea interesting Iv'e never had that issue. And the volume especially with apple music should be fine. Is there ear wax built up on the driver?
@@pickyaudio nope they’ve only been used for 5 hours at best. I’m using the Hey Melody app with the exact same custom EQ and basswave. I also wish the swipe for volume did more than 5% with each swipe, any way to change that? Maybe it’s an Apple only issue IDK.
I thought you mentioned that the medium ear tips made it sound worse on the Buds 3 for you, so I’m having the same issue with the large ones, problem is I don’t have a larger size to use like you did.
What phone/streaming app are you using?

So, the questions are:
1) How big is the sound quality difference between Buds 3 and AZ80 (subjectively, of course)?
Cheers!
I am super confused between Bose QuiteComfort II Buds and Bose QuiteComfort Ultra Buds. Could you please help me select the best pair for listening to music and ANC? PLEASE
Ultra
Yep go for the Ultra
My RHA wireless buds that I got in 2018 just died after a good long life. I think these buds 3 look like that perfect replacement. The price is so good
Do you recommend eartip replacements for these such as the SpinFit CP1025, SednaEarfit Xelastec or any others? Do you know the nozzle diameter on the oneplus bud3? Also would cheap Magnetic AirPods Straps fit the oneplus and do you think it would get in the way of the touch controls? TIA
This or soundcore liberty nc...which was better noice cancellation?
ey boss thx for the vid! do you have an updated eq? i listen to metal & i like bass. thank u!!
Why did you never talk about Marshall Motif 2? I cant find one video of you talking about it :(
I love your videos thats the reason why i am always looking for Mershall Motif 2 review will there be one?
Thanks! I’m already backed up with testing but I’ll keep them in mind 👍
i love this dude i have been looking for good buds for cheap and these reviews are amazing
Do you recommend those for Samsung s24 ultra that does not support lhdc codecs?
i really need an answer does it work well with ios? like connectivity wise? do they auto connect after you first pair them? like airpods when you open them do they connect or do i have to go to bluetooth every time thanks for the answer
They work perfectly on my iPhone 15 pro.
@@pickyaudio when you open the case does it auto connect to your iphone? when you have first paird it?
The sorta hard work you have put into making this video... thumbs up to you 👍
Do the Buds 3 work with Microsoft teams?
You are a pro! Subscribed (and just bought buds 3)
Hey can you give me an alternate choices for this one cuz in my country I dont have access to the new products for about half a year after they were introduced
This is the best ever detailed review 👌
Was the Liberty 4 used in the comparison the NC or or the original ones?
NC
Thanks!
Another great Picky review 💯 but how do these stack up against the Free Pro 3?
Cheers BJ! Buds 3 much better overall
How good is this for attending office meetings and when trying to speak in public places which is having noise like railway stations, etc... is this good particularly for office meetings to attend like teams, zoom calling for corporate meetings???
Never heard of, added to cart while I paused the video. I’ve been using SoundCore liberty 4 for cheaper yet good sounding bud. These are intriguing. I’m not huge on shiny but I could get over it for some shiny sound.
This really helped me, the buds 3 are extremely good for their value, very accurate review👍💪
Excellent review as always - helpful, thorough and clear.
Hi which earbuds should i buy, the Oneplus buds 3 or the nothing cmf buds pro 2
Which of these would say are better for watching Videos like yours or listening to music and which of these would you recommend or buy yourself?
This qas honestly the best review for a pair of earbuds ive ever seen, hands down !!!
Loved every detail, thanks for all the effort :)
So glad i found this review
PS: have you ever encountered any sort of battery drain issues with oneplus buds pro 2, the buds pro 1 were completely useless after a time,
I just wanted to know if its worth buying oneplus earbuds again
Thanks, glad you liked it! I have not experienced any batter drain issue and having heard about it in my comment sections
Could you add the huawei freebuds? They seem great for calls but the controls aren't the best, however, the mics are great.
you need to test the redmi buds 5 pro. claim to have anc up to 52db got hi res audio with price under 60usd
Thanks for the heads up 👍
what do u think about qcy ht05 in 2024? i bought these for someone for 35bucs it should be decent?
I wonder if there is a difference in sound between the global and Chinese versions OnePlus Buds 3
Just bought buds 3 for 42$ in India, great bang for the buck at that price
Very nice 👍
Do you think replacing my ear 2s with these is worth it, considering battery life, sound quality and ANC?
Not worth it unless you want really need that extra battery
Hi!
I Need a little help. I have the Sennheiser CX Plus SE, and I just bought the OnePlus 12. I'm facing some connection issues with the Sennheisers, so I'm thinking of buying the Buds 3. My main question is, are these better in sound quality than my CX Plus? I prefer clearer vocals in my audio preferences.
Thank you.
Great Review Btw🔥
So… buds 3 can use spatial audio with every phone? Even if I dont have a oneplus phone? Right?
Yep. It just doesn’t have head tracking
@@pickyaudio thanks for the answer. Dolby atmos head tracking would be perfect…
What would you want to give to earbuds 10/10 on controls?
I'm just curious
Full customisation, a combo of squeeze controls and swipe gestures. And skin detection for the wearing detection. That’s the ultimate control to me haha
Thank you for another great one, Picky! 👍
Thanks for watching!
hiii bro
few day back i lost my op buds pro 2's charging case
so im planning to buy op buds 3
can i charge my buds 2 pro with buds 3's charging case?
I am a professional music producer, and I can promise you that 99.9999999999% of professional masters are exported in 24bit 44.1kHz. So 96kHz is just adding data points that don't do anything. Depending on the codec, they can even miscalculate some data points. And that only distorts the audio. If you like that distortion, cool I guess, but it's maybe not the reason you think it is.
Thank you 👍
@@pickyaudio Thank you for your efforts! I imagine these videos take a lot of work and dedication.
I wonder how the LG T90 Dolby Atmos compares
Hi, how is it that your ranking for Liberty 4nc keeps dropping? Initially it was ranked on par with Samsung buds 2 pro but now it's one rank down.
Thinking the same. Don't know why. But it is strange
I bought the oneplus buds 3 because of this review. Thank you!
How is it performing? Fit,ANC and music??
Little question, what app do we have to use on Android non-Oneplus phones to set the EQ ? Couldn't find an app on the Play Store...
Hey melody
Is it really better sounding earbud than pixel buds pro!!?
It’s pretty close I prefer the buds 3 and the customisation is much better
Are your earbuds commands voice in Chinese or English?? Pls reply fast
Chinese if it's CN version and English if it's global version.
