    I am not a professional but I like your sawtooth technique when I glue stuff together. Particularly when the metals are different thickness so you can put more heat on the thicker side. I have a Millermatic 230 but that Arccaptain is pretty impressive. I learned how to patch up tobacco crates with an old stick welder. We used to only have one kind and size of rod that we welded everything with. I was amazed when I grew up and found all the types and sizes of welding rods available. The small rods made welding the thin sheets so easy without blowing through. Then I got a MIG and it made everything easy. Great video!

      Awesome thank you, I've been welding for 28 years with a millermatic 185, then arccaptin sent this machine to me and i was super impressed for the money!!! Im like you I learned on stick welding then discovered mig andI was hooked!!! Thanks for watching 👍

    I have 0 experience welding so I appreciate your detailed explanation. I plan on taking a welding class soon but will continue watching.
    That was a clean weld how much difference would it make if you used flux core in how much cleaning you would need to do. Thanks

    • @ACDesignsGarage
      @ACDesignsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much!!! Flux core is a little more messy, kinda like stick welding and is more geared to thicker metals. But I have made a video on flux core welding sheet metal. I plan on doing some flux core videos this year. Any suggestions?? Have a Blessed day!!!

    Great detailed tutorial thanks, Problem I have is that I start the run ok then wonder of my line laying down a nice bead no where near the joint to be welded. This is because I cannot see my welds, I am going to mount a flashlight on my welding hood and see if it helps me see where I'm suposed to be welding

      Thanks for watching, I made a video that may help ill put the link at the bottom of this comment if you want to check it out. That flash light works pretty good.

      Hi there, newbie here also, learning flux core, but a lot of MIG relates to gasless. I tried the flash light, it didn't help me because the beam was never where I wanted it. We were tidying out and I found an old angle-poise (adjustable) desk lamp I used years ago for studying. I put a daylight LED, bright-as-eff, bulb in it and slapped it on my workbench. It was like welding under a desert midday sun; highly effective. I use 6 inch coupons and the bulb easily keeps them well lit up.

    Lincoln 180 dual multi process or arc captain. Which would you recommend?
    I want to make sure i make a wise investment.
    Thanks

    • @ACDesignsGarage

      I 100% understand that. Ive never used lincoln before, im a miller man so I cant say for lincoln ,but yhe price difference you can almost buy 3 arccaptins lol. The arccaptian has all kinds of upgrades, spool gun for aluminum, tig welds stick welds and mig, hard to beat, but I dont want to steer you wrong. Sorry if this dont help, but so far ive had nothing but good luck with the arccaptian!!!

    elles valent rien vos soudures vous ne fondez pas la racine de votre cordon vous manquez énormément de voltage pour faire un cordon correctement pénétré. Quand on se sait pas faire, ou quand on n'a pas un matériel suffisant pour le bien faire , et bien on ne montre pas !

    Why are you pulling when you have the ability to push.

    • @ACDesignsGarage
      @ACDesignsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Its just easier for me, I tend to get a taller weld when pushing for some reason.

    Why does everyone who makes these how to mig weld videos always slip the gas set up. The most important part.
