    Ingredients
    1) Tuvar dal - 3 tbsp
    2) Tomatoes - 3 to 4
    Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
    Salt - to taste
    Garlic cloves - 15 to 20 (Crushed)
    Pepper - 1 to 1 ½ tbsp (Crushed)
    Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp (Crushed)
    3) Jaggery /Sugar - lime size
    Tamarind - lime size
    4) Seasoning
    Ghee/oil - 2 tbsp
    Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
    Mustard seeds - 1 ½ tsp
    Red chilli - 5 to 8
    Curry leaves - 2 twigs
    5) Garnish
    Asafoetida powder - 1 tsp
    Fenugreek powder - 1 tsp
    Coriander leaves - ½ cup
    Preparation
    1) Pressure cook the dal & tomatoes and turmeric powder till mashed.
    2) Add tamarind juice & crushed items & boil for 5 to 6 minutes.
    3) Add jaggery and salt & enough water and cook well.
    4) Season with the given ingredients.
    5) Garnish with the given ingredients.
