Note: hey all, just a clarification point that prices referenced are in the context of US market/dollars (where Pixel devices receive frequent discounts and trade in offers, likely due to the company being headquartered here). But for folks in other regions, don't fret - there's plenty of good deals out there (as what's considered a "good value" ultimately depends on market availability, just like how vice versa, certain brands aren't available in the US) 😉
the pricing in the us on these things is insane. how on earth is this $100? i bought this for my sister this summer for 270 euro and it was a decent deal for a second hand (less than half a year old) phone. for $100 they are practically giving these away..
Good review! I think one reason the 6a is getting so cheap is that stores are clearing out inventory & only selling 7a in the near future, so it's like a clearance sale. FYI for US, aside from Walmart and Best Buy selling the prepaid version for $99 earlier, Metro by T-Mobile had them on sale for only $50 I believe (but requires 1 month of service...making the total $90 if you just need a device for emulation or backup). Anyways, thanks for sharing a revisited look at an older budget device as usual :) P.S. hmm...not sure where all the hate is coming from...I mean, considering this channel is based in the US, it's only natural that he shares his experience from that perspective... just like how Xiaomi, Huawei phones are a lot easier to buy on a budget (cheaper) in places like Asia...you can't have it all lol :)
@ didn’t notice, sorry. And yeah on a further look it seems pretty weird. Pixel 2 and 3 were going for 100 I’m pretty sure. Probably would have been a real good deal or it’s just a range
I've been using this phone for a while now, so far it is okay but the gaming performance, yes, it can play heavy titles like Genshin flawlessly at good settings, but the performance dropped drastically after a while playing the game, like for me who lives in hot rural areas, the performance drop is as high as 60%, only 40% of the maximum performance is working. I got the latest March update, so far it looks like they improved the device by lowering the performance to have a more stable output for a long heavy usage time, we'll see though with time if this will minimize the overheating issue with this phone
From my point of view of not so demanding user, there is more CONs than PROs. CONS: - price tag around 300EUR (Central Europe), - EXTREMELY BAD fingerprint sensor and NO Face unlock, - very slow charging. PROs: + long support, + good camera... For me and for 2024 - no, try to spend money on something better....
I bought it for about 300€ brand new and while it does have subpar fingerprint, after the updates it works flawlessly, although charging can be painfully slow. The display is nice and software is very smooth, but obviously nowadays the 7a is much better choice, either that or the upcoming Pixel 8a can be a game changer.
Greetings from Philippines. Thank you for your video, it is very informative! Can you please kindly advise your screen on time and what is the average screen on time of the phone. I am planning to get 1 but I would like to know first the average SOT. Thank you for your reply - cris
pixel 6a has a superior processor (almost flagship tier), better build (metal frame), and stronger camera performance...but g power has stronger battery life...overall though, I think the 6a is a more powerful phone
You want Pixel, Android is maintained by Google, for each new model you will get Android version update for 3 years then security update for additional 2. I haven't had Moto for a while, but Lenovo had pretty bad track record of software update, I don't know if they're better now, but for other reasons not just their phones I don't like the company. Also Google Camera have their own technology that take very good still and portrait photos. Video are just average though. Also be aware that new Pixel devices tend to lose resale and trade in value quickly compared to Samsung and iPhone, but it is good if you buy them used.
Maybe i should dotch5 the Moto G 5G and get this, i take a lot of photos and the processor kind of of slow on the Motorola, i do like how Motorola gives you the shake light feature and the gasket waterproofing thst surpasses a 500 dollar samsung of dropped in lake, sad Samsung cant protect with simple gasket snd a 40 dollar phone does
Been very disappointed with the 6a. I've never understood all the good reviews across the net. Performance is decent yes but the camera is only good if you're not using any zoom. The casing and front are far more fragile than it should be. The battery life is the poorest I've had on any smartphone. Wouldn't recommend it.
I think it's all relative to what it's being compared against tbh...you're right that it's not ultra flagship device (thermal efficiency needs improvement lol) but as a budget/midranger it's popularity seems reasonable...someone was comparing it to the similarly priced Moto G Power which is an objectively inferior value on most aspects (camera processing isn't as as consistent, GPU isn't as powerful, screen is LCD instead of OLED, build quality might be even worse without Gorilla Glass, etc.)...although I'd prefer a full metal design, the metal sides & plastic back shouldn't be as fragile as full glass... to be fair, zoom on most phones even with 2x telephoto won't beat a dedicated camera's reach (unless you're looking at a Samsung Galaxy Ultra or newer Sony Xperia 1...but those devices are usually multiple times more expensive...)
There's no way, especially since most phones a while ago had super small batteries. The pixel 6a's battery lasts me all day. Could it be better, absolutely but it ain't bad whatsoever. I've had it for almost 2 years and the performance and battery haven't completely deteriorated
Bought the Google Pixel 6a last year and I have to say this is the worst phone I've ever owned. Constantly losing internet connection. Battery life is terrible. And my keyboard continues to pop up on my display when I don't want to use it and I have to hit the back button just to clear it. This is absolutely the worst phone on the market.
@@ki11atj49 Its definitely happening to most Pixel 6A users. You must be a secret ambassador backing up a failed cellphone model. Again, this is the worst phone out on the market right now.

Bro whatttt i wish i was in the US
@@elscud. Personally, I would not want to be in the US but I do like the deals they get and I'd like some of those.
@user-ub7yw7jg4f haha! That's pretty clever.

where can I get one?

Where are you seeing ot at $100? The lowest ive seen new is $200.
$130 at back market 😊
@LifezGold my comment was 11 months ago. If they're still $130 now, it makes me really question how they were being found for $100 11 months ago
@ didn’t notice, sorry. And yeah on a further look it seems pretty weird. Pixel 2 and 3 were going for 100 I’m pretty sure. Probably would have been a real good deal or it’s just a range
I haven't found this for 100 for any carrier i have seen 200?

I'm around 6 to 7. Still love the 6a.
So on straight talk would you recommend the moto g power or the pixel 6a

I have this in straight talk! No issues at all, to me it’s better than Motorolas
The motto g power was the best phone I've had so far. But I had some manufacturers issues after not too long and had to replace it
6A destroys the G power
Is it worth it to buy this 2024? Or should i go iphone 11 pls help
Depends they about even I will get the pixel 6a because it's newer and has a better display
pic pixel 6a, video iphone 11
Ironically im switching from a iphone 11 to a pixel 6a but thats because i hate apple
What about the 7A?
A little bit better, but not on sale for 100
Still at least $250, better if you want an upgrade but over my budget
You can't get even used ones for $99, the best value is still either the 6 or 6 pro.

how tf is this 100$, in India it is for 370$ after converting inr to usd
wtf bro
Exactly
Sales in the US
😂 There's a one year catch though
It's not true, used ones sell for about 159 usd, for that price you can just as easily get the Pixel 6 regular.
wowowoww
A phone with terrible battery life
