Oh my gosh❤how lovely. Lace is so special. Worn for everyday, wedding day, decor, and keeping flies out of pots , yes lace is special. I have handmade lace by my grandmothers hands. I treasure it. She made a giant lace tablecloth out of fine thread. She was skilled. 😀
Oh, she was a very clever lady! So lovely to hear you have a piece of her handy work to keep and treasure. Who do you think you get your love for treasure-hunting from Brun?
@ my grandmother Kate, had a home full of interesting things, it was a small house in a country town and had trinkets every shelf, I get it from all of the memories she gave. Every item has story even the wooden spoon🤣and she always let me touch anything I wanted to hold as a child. So I like all sorts of old interesting things, every rock, every thing I unearth or discover in an old store etc, old artwork, old fabrics. Old furniture etc everything has a story to me😀
You're so right about everything old having a story to tell. I LOVE that about old things! Your Grandmother sounds like a great person to have known as well as an inspiration to you. D x
Hi dawn! Oh wow you’re so lucky to have markets like that in the UK! I wish we had more vintage treasures like this in Aus. All the lace and fabric you found is gorgeous! I’m excited to see what you make with it all 😊
Thanks for watching Karla. Yes, I'm a bit spoilt here by the sounds of it. You know how it is - loads of ideas flying around in your head all the time and every time you see something new you get another handful of ideas! I'll keep checking out your channel to see your quilts and refashioning! Dawn x
@ yes I can totally relate! I always have so many ideas! 💡 watching this video of your lovely lace and fabric finds inspired me to have a play with my lace and doilies this morning ☺️
Hello Elia. Yes, we are. We live in a little cottage in Cornwall. We don't have very much on our doorstep, which means we have to travel to go to any fairs - but that just adds to the adventure and makes me ridiculously excited when I'm able to find old fabric and paper...! Thanks for joining me. D x.
@@AtHomeInCornwall Well I certainly love the same things. I can’t wait to see what you do with all your goodies. I am currently using my linens and lace in little books that I will give to special people in my life. Ps. The thrill of the hunt is always fun. Sometimes I think I enjoy collecting bits and pieces more than I like making things🤦♀️
Loved everything….but when I saw your sewing machine that really made my heart light up……have one that’s looks it which was my mother’s….very special 🌸
Ahhh, yes Linda they are special little things, aren't they? Mine is showing plenty of wear, but that's good that it's been used a lot, isn't it? Lovely to have your Mother's - it makes it a real treasure x
Dawn: Just found you. Very good looking fabrics and lace. Even the items you didn’t want were good looking. I’m interested in seeing what you will do with them. Carol from California
Of course - you're right - I LOVE to tea dye anything I can get my hands on - sounds as though you are the same - and that would definitely give it a muted look, right up our street! Clever idea Lisa. D x.
Just found you Dawn! Lovely fabrics and laces and it has just come at the right time. I've had a big house move from Kent to Wiltshire and the garage is full of trunks and suitcases just bursting with vintage laces and fabrics! Have subscribed!
Hi Jacqui. That's amazing - you have so much fun ahead of you! I'll try to keep popping ideas on to You Tube for you. As with everyone, time is my main hurdle, so I'll try my best. D x
Hi Joy. It's funny isn't it, how you look back and realise you've been in love with something from an early age? When my friends were buying trendy clothes, I was buying old lace and buttons instead! Thanks for your comment, it keeps me inspired. D x
Hi - aren't the old Singers just beautiful? I hope you get as much pleasure using yours as I do mine. I'm feeling like I could start sewing for Christmas in earnest now! You? D x
Hi Lisa - glad to have you with us. Thanks for your comment - I can hardly believe anyone wants to hear me ramble on, so I mean it when I say your encouragement means a lot to me! D x
Hi - thanks for joining us. Oh that's lovely that there are others out there that are equally as loved - I'm hoping mine will last another 80 years or so - if so, I can pass it on to another avid sewer in the future! Happy sewing! D x

If you do another, could we see the fabrics and laces just a little more clearly/closely? So many of those pieces were so interesting!
Oh brilliant! Glad you liked the fabric and lace - I'm worried about boring everyone so I try to reign it in a bit (!) but yes, I'd love to show you more detail in future videos. Number 354, huh? I'll be glad if I hit 500! Thanks for your encouragement. D x
