Very nice. Like the troop carrying compartment. Nice shape, and resembles the classic version which shoukd have also carried troops. The chin guns parts are hard to find. Wish someone produced 3D replications for the chin guns. The driver design, shape and mold the only negative. Rather a different figure for that tank.
This is my favorite HISS. The hatch from the powerteam elite humvees fits perfectly on this vehicle if you remove the turret. I envision them as a Sdkfz 251 equivalent in the Cobra mechanized forces.
As much as I love the overall colors here, and the troop carrying abilities that were reintroduced. I think they dropped the ball in functionality, as well as under powering it with uneven balance of fictional firepower (try saying that three times), compared to the HISS II. I still dig the HISS II design a helluva lot more. With this as a close second.
@phillyflopper Yup, i totally agree with you! The HISS III simply don't seem to look like it has any improvements, albeit the blue body and mud stains and its driven by Rip It driver. It always boggles my mind about the HISS III and there's no info on what's so special about it. And again, i agree that we can treat the DTC HISS as a HISS III since we can assume that it evolves from HISS II due to its transport carrier function. :D
@lunacy05 I agree, it's like "What happened to the number structure here?" I suppose one could simply call it Hiss IV, as we all should just pretend the Hiss III doesn't count. As I didn't notice any improvement on the design. Unless you count "mud" stains and blue paint/armor/plastic. xD
@phillyflopper True as what you said, but i think this version of a HISS tank serves more of an anti-air support rather than being able to dish out more firepower there though. But again, what you say is true, the 4 missiles fixed in the front is kinda odd choice to place (rather than add more to the top) and is rather weak in firepower compare to the HISS II. But what cheeses me off is that, they don't mention what model of a HISS is this lol xD
@thunderhound369 Thanks very much, Brian! Lol, yeah, it just boggles my mind what Hasbro did, by putting a ninja as a hiss tank driver lol! It's pretty hard to find this in an affordable price, but not impossible, so keep on hunting and good luck, Brian! :D
There is honestly no market for GI Joes rn IDW and hasbro is stretching the license so thin that they forgot that yes its not enough to tell a decent story you have to sell merchandise too i also think the movies especially the 2nd one left a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouths and people just walked away from the brand. Also i lf im not mistaken the new head of hasbro is very PC and doesnt want to sell military figures.
Dont remember these being DTC i remember seeing these all the time at toys r us and Dollar General carried a bunch of the Valor vs Venom stuff for a long time. I thought going DTC was stupid idea especially considering the general toy market if people dont see it on the shelves or see commercials they are just gonna move on to the next thing and i think thats where gi joe lost a lot of the consumer.
Another great and very indepth review. I just wish they put the twin guns as well as the rockets on. But still a great vehicle

Another HISS Tank. You must really like that classic design to be willing to buy every HISS Tank.

@Stefoshark Thanks very much, Shark! :D
Perfect review!!!
@mk1212wq Thanks very much, mk1212wq! :D
@dreadnok320 Thanks very much, Jeremy! It'll be awesome if they put the twin guns onto it as well! :D
Perhaps the mud coloration is supposed to be corrosion. As its on parts that would be steel.
It is the same as the sigma six hiss tank which i have
The overall design is similar for the sigma six's hiss tank but the driver seat is far more smaller to accommodate your 4 inch figures

I need to find one of these on eBay!
after seeing all your reviews, maybe you should do a video of your whole collection?
Shoulda grabbed that HISS on Ebay back when I had the chance *sigh*
There should be a third company making different types of turrets and add ons. I would like cannons or machine guns would be great.
great tank and review!

@v3sinned Oh i did make a video of showcasing my whole collection, but that was posted on October 2nd, you can check it out on the 800 subs video :)
@Vdecepticon Thanks very much, V! It's pretty hard to find this in mint in box and in an affordable price, but luckily i did! Coooooobraaaaa!!! XD
@popculturehero Well, that made sense :)

it's too bad you don't have the Cobra Septic Tank to review and compare.
@kgtrains Oh, definitely! Good luck on hunting, Keith! :D
@ejasonrichmond Lol, i did contemplate whether if i should wanna get that or not, and i'm still not come to the conclusion lol xD
D.T.C. that's cool
The ninja SHOULD have weapons night creepers suck without weapons
