Completely went over my head for so long, but this listen I am reminded of the aggressive bass sound and I was like, wait a minute here... OF COURSE it had to be John Entwistle… nobody else could get that huge sound.
Dude, I did the same thing in I think 1980, definitely from Rockworld and also Midnight Special. Not familiar with the Heartbeat one. Rockworld was all music videos, Midnight Special had a mix, some music videos, and some stuff in a dance studio with Wolfman Jack pretending to DJ. I didn't record any of that, only the filmed vids. Except for one precious video from that studio. More later. I would leave my house late on Friday and Saturday nights, like 11:30 pm, to go to the TV studio where I worked, to record this stuff on pro 3/4" videotape. (I didn't think VHS was around then yet, widespread, anyway.) I would hit record when each video would come on, if I didn't like the video, I'd stop, rewind, and cue up for the next one. I have five hours of this stuff, real gems to me. I took a pro player home, and played this stuff over and over again. I had MTV before MTV! From Rockworld, I found my all-time favorite band: Polyrock. I'm re-compiling it, from the digitized stuff from those original tapes, and collecting them here, that's why I found this one, it's in the collection! Dude, I have one video, from Midnight Special, in that dance studio, Blondie doing a lip-sync of Heart of Glass. She looked sexy as hell. The dancers were obviously professionals, and there was one couple that were doing some shit that was sexy as hell. She was hot, long hair, and the guy was kind of shaking the shit out of her, and she was loving it. I was in my early 20's, so I freakin' loved it. I have been unable to find it anywhere on the Internet. I have the only copy!!! Probably not, but it's a rarity. Eventually, I hope to post the compilations, in 3 segments. I love these pre-MTV videos!!
Let me know if you get some of your recordings uploaded. It's kind of hit or miss as to whether you'll get a copyright strike. I've been fighting this for more than 10 years so good luck.
@@morrisonAV Silly me, I didn't even think about copyright issues. I thought it wasn't an issue anymore, instead they just placed ads over the content to sell the music. Now that I think about it, something in a 2-hour long video will trigger. New thinking upload all separate, then build playlist. In the original captured order, of course. I just listened to Fisher Z "So Long." Loved/loved this song, and all of them.
Awesome Roger Daltrey song!!
Roger the best rock singer what a voice,
was living in London from the U.S. at the time this movie/song came out- saw Daltry out promoting this also in person- great memories!!
