Why do you only scan small knick knacks from around the house? Scan some useful stuff. Electronic cases/pcbs, parts of vehicles to get the mounting points, large/outdoor sculpture for scan the world, full body scan for cosplay costume??
Because it’s a simple and easy way to demonstrate the product to users. There are an endless amount of applications for this product. Simple figurines are just easier. I mean, it’s not like he actually wants to print copies of porcelain sculptures he already owns.
The white model it comes with scans beautifully but anything else I have tried is useless. I cannot get it to scan with successfully except the white model statue it comes with.
I dont know what Im doing wrong. I can scan the sample bust near perfectly every time. but nothing else. whether color or not, external light or not, matte or shiny, handheld or stationary with turntable, it loses track every time and produces garbage esceher-esque blobs. getting real frustrated with this.
That was my experience also. Tried to send it back and found out they have a 14 day return policy (I assumed 30 days) and then only if the packaging had not been opened!!! 😠
Does the phone or computer need to have a USB 3 port to plug into for it to work? Also why don't you use the scanning spray on dark areas like the boots?
The mobile set has yet to work from me. Very disappointing, but I'll keep trying to trouble shoot. Note 9 Android. I am curious if its a the power source. When I have it connected to my computer there is no problem however being mobile is a big reason why I was wanting this.
It seems the same as the occipital structure scanner, and seems to produce the same scans and quality and that scanner been out for years, it looks like nothing has improved . I bet it still cant scan large stuff like motorbikes ect. Be interesting to do another vid on stuff out side and on the large size.

Hi Ricardo, it depends on the model. The software can repair the scan and you will be able to print it but if you need to repair some detail that was not captured correctly or something like that, you might need to edit the model before printing.
Is there any other open source (or paid) software available that is compatible withe the Revopoint hardware? The Sortware looks like an really unfinished product.
Hi Steve. Not sure if other software packages will work or not. However, they continued updating the software and scanner firmware after the video was published.
@Trantor The Troll I would say not. I have an XYZ scanner that was about $250, using it with the 3D systems sense software and I would say the results are about the same
Just one question. What specs do you need on a windows system to be able to run a the scanner. I already have their Tanso S1 system which for Turntable is amazing. But want to know for hand scanning. Many thanks :)
Hi Damian, you have the information about the PC and Android requirements in the kickstarter page. Only one note, in there it's mentioned that the app will work with android 6 and up but the recent information is that it will work with android 9 and up.

Although I do keep hearing that the beta android app seems to crash a lot. So will wait and see I guess. Awesome video by the way. Really insightful.
Revopoint is still working on the app and we received a few updates during our review. The latest works ok as we show in the video The only thing we didn't test was creating the mesh.

About screen resolution cap, there are software allowing you to artifically incerase resolution :)

How is this vs Polycam app?

Can u test scanning longer parts... Like 3 feet long.
I think it sucks, leaving out so much detail is crappy to a degree. at $500 for the kit, no way.

The app is for Android 9+? On the Kickstarter page there's info that it should work with Android 6+ devices.

I cannot make handyscan to work at all on my phone. Did you find another software that can be use with it?
