In the 80's a nodular case was$500.00 out of a catalog. I found alot in 70's 4x4 f150's, and early 80's trucks where ford was clearing 9" inventory off the shelf. I found them in 2 and 4 wheel drive of early 80's
I’m in high school as well and I’ve got a lifted ‘71 f100 on 35’s with a built 352, cammed up, open headers, 850 Holley carb which is being rebuilt by my girlfriend’s dad at the moment but besides that it runs great. It’s awesome to see another high schooler that wants to build something instead of waiting for mommy and daddy to find one..... Love the truck man
The junkyards around here in Georgia (Pull-a-Part) set a wheel flat then weld another wheel vertically on to it. They use this setup at four corners. It makes for great access to the vehicle. Like your yard, they don't allow jacks or cutting torches.
You guys might already be planning on it, but I would definitely plate those beams. They're beefy, but they do bend if you really beat on them without reinforcement.
I have been using the new edge mustang v6 t5s in my last couple of builds. The 3.8 bellhousing bolts directly to a small block. You have to use a truck flywheel, clutch, and starter but other than that it works good.
Dick move slicing the tires. How do you know what someone may or may not use. And that’s damaging the junkyards goods. Then you’re super careful taking off the build plate.
That is a good idea craig when i start restoring my daily driver 1994 f150 ill go and collect the vin tags off of junked ford trucks. you are right that they can’t even be restored cuz once the truck is junked they delete the vin off the record and its the only tangiable.
Shorty headers make about 2hp over a set of manifolds. I’d find a good set of long tubes because it’s not worth the money or time to do a set of shorties on anything.
If i were you i'd make sure the 9" didn't have a nodular case in it. I used to go with my dad to the you pullit yards in the 80's and 90's. Some of 70 models that were 4x4 f150 had nodular cases, and early 80's f150 where ford was clearing shelves for 8.8, i found several over the years.
yes i love the 240z and my 280z i would definitely watch videos on that. and on another note why are your junk yards so good cant find anything old in my yards its usually all new cars :(
23:51: Not busting balls, but those welds are NOT good(I'm an AWS Certified Welder and Welding Inspector). Way too much porosity and undercut. With that, usually comes lack of penetration. When you re-do the brackets, keep a couple of things in mind. If you are using flux core, you drag the wire (You slag, you drag), like stick. If you are using bare wire with a gas, push the wire. Pony up for some name brand wire (Lincoln L56 is my personal favorite). Believe me, it makes a huge difference. Make sure you have ALL of the crap off there. Don't buy the crap that you can "Burn it out", you can't. It just ends up in the weld sub-surface. Heat should be set for the tubing thickness of the axle. Wash it into the bracket if it is a bit hot for the thinner material. I've been following for a while, and I'd hate like hell to see all that hard work come to an abrupt end because one of the brackets tore off the axle housing during a spirited burnout or hard shift!
It was welded with inner shield from a welding rig and not by me because it was super last minute. I’m aware of the porosity and it will be clean the next time around.
It’s a world class t5 has a timken front bearing that doesn’t look like a freeze plug and it has a star bit bolt in the side which means world class and depending on the side numbers it’ll tell you the gear ratio
I wouldn't put money on it either but the grill looks like a Dodge van from the sixties. It didn't stay in the camera for long and didn't get to see the whole thing, but my guess is Dodge.
If you get a chance to look up maple motors Henderson bill TN look at the 64 ford white it is for sale go to u tube check it. Out you will like it very nice
As someone that had a 95 Bronco for 6 years I can tell you the TTB split Dana 44 is shit on the street. It may be great at high speed out in the desert with upgraded components, but stock it SUCKS! They follow every little grove in the highway, they bump steer like crazy, they try to turn on their own when you let off the gas.. I will say though it is hilarious to turn off O/D and floor it and watch the hood lift like 2 feet and then drop when you let off just because the weight transfer unloads the front suspension and lets it droop.
My 94 Bronco when i bought it from a friend, at intersections where pavement changed highth at the curb would wander if you didn't put in counter steer. Well i replaced the smoked draglinks/tie rods. The worn out worm gear in the steering box was the major part of that issue. When replaced the steering box, no more wacky slack. Old box i could move the steering wheel from close to 10 to 2 with no tire movement.
Is the roof rust caused by vehicles in close proximity to the ocean and the saline moisture? I've seen that in Florida, but Florida has a lot more humidity.
Bro I have a 1970 f250 bump side and I need to add taller springs and bend my I beams. Could you hook up a Ford Brother up with the measurements for the jig you built? I’m not in California Desert racing or anything just trying to get my old shitbox taller so I can bomb it through the woods here
Bad move cutting the side wall of them tires. Were they a set of 4? Even if not they were a set of 2. Not sure about in California but were im at that was a usable tire for a few miles anyway. I have brand new set of mud tires for my truck I use only to go to the mud runs. The other 11 months of the yr I buy cheap used tires like those & there good enuf to burn up showing off by smoking your tires for your buddys or flying up & down the gravel roads all over the county just out being a terror. Its alot cheaper than buying new mud tires every yr. You could have cut the valve stem.
Okay if your looking for a world class t5 the only car I know of that came with it is the svo and fun fact it's a 4 cylinder everything else came stock with a regular t5
Dude loved the video but if you say the floor one more time when talking about the ground I’m going to pull my hair out 😂 there’s no floor in a junkyard🤯
I would have had to grab that old grill shell for wall art if nothing else
The grill in the bed of that pickup was from a 60s dodge.
just about to post that...
66 dodge
@@albertgaspar627😮
Always check the 9 inch center sections in the dent sides. I have found several N cases.
Can you elaborate more on what you mean by this?

Man this made me want to throw my sandwich on the floor and head to the junkyard 🤣

Why didn't you just cut the valve stem tire looked good enough
You guys might already be planning on it, but I would definitely plate those beams. They're beefy, but they do bend if you really beat on them without reinforcement.
Good find can't wait to see what you do with it
Those beams you bent with a torch are now super fragile!!! You’re only supposed to cold bend I beams on these old fords.
Was going to say same thing!!
No rust anywhere! Damn you boys are lucky to live where ever you are.
I have been using the new edge mustang v6 t5s in my last couple of builds. The 3.8 bellhousing bolts directly to a small block. You have to use a truck flywheel, clutch, and starter but other than that it works good.
Best part of the day is when I get the notification that Craig posted a video 🤟🏼
Enjoy the salvage yard videos keep up the great work
18:32 I NEED THAT BUMPER. I need that front bumper for my 75. That looks like its in such good shape
11:50 that car would be a clean drag car build ngl makes me wish i had the money and lived in the states sometimes
Dick move slicing the tires. How do you know what someone may or may not use. And that’s damaging the junkyards goods. Then you’re super careful taking off the build plate.
@6:30 thats a dodge truck grille like a 60tys power wagon grille
I want all those old ford pickups 😍
Yall should get me them headers for Christmas😂 I need them for my 460
That is a good idea craig when i start restoring my daily driver 1994 f150 ill go and collect the vin tags off of junked ford trucks. you are right that they can’t even be restored cuz once the truck is junked they delete the vin off the record and its the only tangiable.
I'm a huge square body chevy guy but I love galaxy fords and really like your f100. Really enjoy your content.
I collect the RPO tags off the s10's I take parts off of
That camaro was a world class.. I’m glad you called the guy lol
D100 65-67 grill!!
I wish we had yards like that around here. Everything pre 90’s has been hauled to the crusher.
Dude, I need those headers off that blue Camaro. I need them for my Vortec heads. I'll pay you to shipped to me in Texas!
Shorty headers make about 2hp over a set of manifolds. I’d find a good set of long tubes because it’s not worth the money or time to do a set of shorties on anything.

My favorite place to scrap for rarity’s… PYP West. Used to be named LKQ.
The ground or the floor?
Dodge truck/van grill. 1966-677 dish headlights. Popular style, don't ask me why.
The grill is from a dodge D100 66 through 70
Mid 65-67 grill
I need that
It’s a world class t5 has a timken front bearing that doesn’t look like a freeze plug and it has a star bit bolt in the side which means world class and depending on the side numbers it’ll tell you the gear ratio
Buy that grill insert on the black truck and I'll buy it from u I need bolth sides if they are good and find me a ashtray lol I like original stuff
That first rate porosity in that weld on the spring perches.
17:03 Hope you can buy and save that Datsun 280Z.
That truck is sick.
Good times!!!!
240/260 Z's are da bomb ... DO IT !!!!
Those beams are huge. That’s what she said
I wouldn't put money on it either but the grill looks like a Dodge van from the sixties. It didn't stay in the camera for long and didn't get to see the whole thing, but my guess is Dodge.
Those headlight rings from the A100 Dodge van grille will sell same day for $60+ on ebay
Oh dang my Friday just got better. Is that white dentside grille good looking for both iner and outer for a 73 -77 f100.
If you can put a5/8 sockets over the input shaft, it’s not a world class. The pilot is a bit bigger on a world class.
Craig I'm willing to bet that dually had a banks power pack or something like that.
If you get a chance to look up maple motors Henderson bill TN look at the 64 ford white it is for sale go to u tube check it. Out you will like it very nice
It's because the gm t5 doesn't have a spot for a trans mount because the body uses the torque arm
Datsun with a vh45 Infiniti engine and a z32 trans. Sounds like a fun car. Or a inline 6 turbo. Get one
The headers, Those are part of the Banks Powersport system!!
Me wanting to collect vins after watching this lol
I don’t feel alone anymore!! My Dana 60 is 16 spline too 👎🏻 ‘76 f250
Buy the studebaker that thing would make a clean rat rod
The grill is out of a 66 to 67 dodge pickup its called a pie plate.
We need more people saving these GEMS uuuhhh🤕🥺
I wish junkyards were like this in Canada or at least in my area we do not have the abundance of parts and cars you guys have.

I like that body style of the Datsun
Love those California bone yards
Lucky day for sure wow
Is the roof rust caused by vehicles in close proximity to the ocean and the saline moisture? I've seen that in Florida, but Florida has a lot more humidity.
Great video mate, Datsun 280zx would be a cool car for a project .
Maybe you could have him bend your front axle to correct the camber
Got that same KING hat 👌
Thermoquad is a Mopar carb & Quadrajet is Gm .
@thecraig909 were your front I beam axles bent? Is that whay you had to heat it up with a torch and bend it with a jack?
Dude what's up with the holes in those welds? Try running less stick out on the wire like 3/16 😁
Hope you grabbed the drain plug for that t5. It was literally laying on the ground next to it.
I did
What junk yard is that. I need that d100 grill
Just went and picked up some parts for my maro
Datsun❤ Keep and build the 6
When you were in home boys garage, i thought you were still in the junk yard.
0:20 seconds i hear that Point North song going ;)
Bro I have a 1970 f250 bump side and I need to add taller springs and bend my I beams. Could you hook up a Ford Brother up with the measurements for the jig you built? I’m not in California Desert racing or anything just trying to get my old shitbox taller so I can bomb it through the woods here
supposedly the t5 from the new edge v6 cars is the strongest of the factory t5's
Auto?
Yep, easily the best way to find good WC T5s in my area. Foxes are all beyond stripped, but the NE v6s are generally intact.
Haven't seen you do a burnout yet this year guys
A Datsun would be cool.
Excellent video

Would be nice if you tell your subscribers which wrecking yards you guys go to.
Okay if your looking for a world class t5 the only car I know of that came with it is the svo and fun fact it's a 4 cylinder everything else came stock with a regular t5
that's not the VIN tag. it's the warranty tag/
Are the tail lights on that studebaker horizontal or vertical
The grille was from a dodge sweptline pickup
I want those longtube headers
for How much will a standard transmission cost for a Camaro 8 cyl. Like the blue Camaro
That truck is begging for a stroker 351 Windsor 408 or 427 sweet maybe 396 or 8 I don't remember
That was a Dodge grill in the back of that Ford pickup
Old grill looks like a dodge van
i have a 70 f100 and i need new grill inserts and all i can find is 69s and 71-72s
I went to high-school with a guy who had a old 270z with a Chevy 283
The grille is an early 60s dodge d100
Grill is from a 65.5 to 67 dodge truck. Remember the pie pan lights. Ugly grills.
Dude loved the video but if you say the floor one more time when talking about the ground I’m going to pull my hair out 😂 there’s no floor in a junkyard🤯
U should get a 280z or something there really cool
