We used to take the extra pieces of guitar strings that are clipped off after putting new strings on and use those to clean out jets. The wire being wound acts like a scrubber and the different size wires for different size jets.

I have a 1977 Dodge D200 Adventurer. All the same junk under the hood....similar condition. Starts up after few pumps of gas or just keeping it to floor. It sat for 3 yrs at one point. Gave it 2 pumps, held it to floor.....vvvrrrooommm! It's a beast. Everybody seems to want the damn thing too. ...crazy

When it comes to unclogging jets, I always keep a pack of guitar strings handy. You have six different sizes, and they last forever. Nothing is better for unclogging a jet.
It's a dodge, if it was running when it was parked you should be able to get it running. I have a 76 D100 with 487,000 miles and still runs great. It has a 318 4 speed.
@@jerrycraig6522 yes same block same heads. I have just put new gaskets a timing chain and a high volume oil pump over a hundred thousand miles ago and the oil pressure runs at 80 pounds no matter how hot it is, and i change oil every 3,000 miles.
Not a bad looking old truck. A few things about them I've found is get rid of the low oil pressure cut off switch. Also the 4 pin ballast, if you have a 2 pin do not try to put in a 4 pin. The radiator is the "heavy duty" 26" jobber. That carb has a stupid idle enrichment valve in the back also.
This must be a really special truck for Derek to be wearing his goin' to town shirt.
