Everyone focuses on Sharon Tate and Jay Sebring, Stephen Parent was a teenager who was leaving the property and was the first Manson victim. He had his whole life ahead of him and deserves as much attention as the others in memorium.

That sweet dog was just a puppy last time I was there. He was so excited and full of energy, jumping all over us and his demeanor totally changed when we headed downstairs. Just like in this video, the dog stopped at the threshold to the staircase and would NOT follow us down. As a dog lover, I wanted him to tag along, but it just wouldn't budge. Animals certainly know/feel something we don't.

In 1976 when I was 19 I moved from my hometown in Connecticut because I was going to study psychology at Pepperdine University in Malibu. Me and my roommate became good friends and we always spent as much free time as we could exploring L.A. and as much of California as we could afford to. One afternoon we decided to drive up to the tragically infamous “Sharon Tate house” on Cielo Drive. I had read books about the murder case, and this was a few months after there was a terrifying television movie on ABC called “Helter Skelter”. I knew that you couldn’t get past the gate in the driveway, and you couldn’t see the house from there at all, but we still decided to go because it was such a historical event in American history. We both also felt kind of wrong about going, because it seemed in bad taste. But we just felt such sympathy for the victims that we weren’t going to do anything in bad taste. It took quite a while to get there, so many winding and narrow roads. When we parked near the driveway and walked up to the gate. I grabbed hold of the gate with one hand and immediately had a sick feeling in my stomach. This feeling of absolute dread and terror overcame me and I ran back to the car. There was no logical reason I should’ve been so freaked out, the place was very peaceful. I began crying uncontrollably in the car, which freaked out my roommate. He said he felt very uncomfortable there, but he wasn’t as upset as I was. Obviously neither of us ever went up Cielo Drive ever again. If I saw the house in pictures or on tv after that I would get upset. I remember reading how Trent Reznor used the house’s living room as a recording studio and thinking he, and those who joined him there, must be pretty sick people. When the house was torn down I felt happy, and I have a feeling it was a relief to the victims families. The gross mansion that was built there is an eyesore, but at least the original home is gone.
You’re pretty brave going to David Oman’s house, you couldn’t get me to go up that street again for any reason. I wasn’t “into” ghosts or paranormal things before I went to the gate at 10050 Cielo, but the way I felt that day I’d never felt before or since. I don’t know who or what upset me so, but it wasn’t my imagination.

This brought back a horrible feeling to me. I was 15 when that was on tv and I wasn't in to ghosts or such either. In fact it scared the crap out of me to be home alone after dark. Anyway I remember me and my Mom being alone and that came on and the more it played the worse I felt. I especially didn't like the commercials because that music would play when it came back on. I finally told my Mom I was going to bed because it was scaring me and she was like scaring you? Our house wasn't big so you could still hear stuff and I would hum or sing or whatever when it would come on. I hadn't thought about that in years. I watch scary movies and read about ghosts and so on but will NEVER watch that show.

Another great episode, Scott! I have a friend who lived in the area as a kid, and one Sunday her family came home from church to find things moved around in the house. The police came out and dusted for fingerprints. Months later the cops showed up to talk to them some more, because the prints had matched one of the Manson murder scenes (I'm not sure which). My friend's family had been creepy crawled! What a terrifying time that must have been. I so appreciate your work - thank you!

David is so interesting to listen to. It is obvious why the spirits chose him…….he is so respectful and intuitive. His generosity is beyond any I have seen. For him to open his home to so many people, including many strangers, who show interest in the happenings that take place there is amazing. Most would be annoyed with people constantly coming there to get a peak of his home, and would do whatever they could to prevent that from happening (as is the case with the Amityville horror house. Curious guests are not welcome even near the property). David seems like a fantastic person and those who have the pleasure of meeting him and becoming his friend should consider themselves very lucky. A plus…….his dog is adorable and so well behaved. I wish I could meet David. His life has definitely been interesting to say the least.

I had a spirit sit on my legs while I was trying to sleep. I jumped up & ran upstairs & sat on the couch. This happened at a women's shelter & my daughter was sleeping across from me. The kids could see this guy & me. He supposedly died in the other room. I always wondered if he seen them bc other ppl sure did at his home.

I swear it said Helter skelter whatever else it said I saw like Helter skelter lightly and I did not get off none of us dead. We didn’t even go to the gate, but as we were in the car, I started feeling fear and panicking and I told my husband let’s go let’s get out of here let’s go. I don’t wanna be here let’s go and my volume of my voice was rising and they said OK OK and let me tell you he started up the engine and we we turned around and we started taking off and I was just so relieved because, this feeling of fear was just taking over and no one else felt anything, but so I never went back up again never

I've been up there before. It was when the new mansion was being built. A friend of mine who was visiting from out of state wanted to collect a small zip-lock baggie of dirt from the property. I thought nothing of it, we were just collecting some dirt. However, when we got there the energy or whatever you want to call it was really funky. To quote a line in American Werewolf in London, "There's something wrong with this place." For those of you that have been there, you know exactly what I'm talking about. When we returned back to my place, I refused to allow the baggie of dirt into my home. It stayed in the garage. Fortunately, nothing "bad" was brought back to my place other than the dirt.

Scott, loved this interview with David Oman. I’ve seen his house featured on “Ghost Hunters” and “Ghost Adventures”. David seems like such a cool guy & it’s great that he enjoys letting people tour his home & listen and tell his story of all the paranormal stuff that goes on there when he could just keep everything to himself & not share anything about his encounters with the spirits that haunt him and his house. I have always heard that if death occurs by a sudden traumatic event, sometimes the person who died doesn’t always know that they are dead OR the tragedy happens so quickly that they still feel like they have unfinished business to attend to and that is why they don’t move on to the next plane of existence.

I had a Golden Retriever. When we were out walking in the dark and she would suddenly stop and stare into the dark park, I would immediately turn back. Or if she kept looking backwards and there was nothing to see, I walked faster. I always trusted her.❤️
The day my mother died, I went to the apartment with my dog to get my mother some things for the hospital. Normally, my sweetie was always happy and rushed into the apartment to greet my mother. Now she was sniffing the doormat and didn't want to go into the apartment. But then she followed me. Very carefully, tail attached and very slowly. She didn't look for my mother, she lay down until we left. In the evening, my mother went on her journey. 🕯
Only then did I realize what I had previously thought: My sweetie couldn't possibly know that my mother wasn't at home but in hospital.
She was my soul dog and has unfortunately already crossed the Rainbow Bridge. ❤

Hey, Scott ? ALL your videos about this infamous street, and what happened there, have always been so interesting.
I wonder how many times that 'Cielo Drive' sign has been stolen by souvenir seekers ?
In a subdivision near me - built in the mid to late 1960s - they had a 'Penny Lane' in there. THAT street sign - though MUCH less notorious than 'Cielo Dr.' - got stolen SO many times, back in the 'Beatle Days' that they finally gave up replacing it, and just changed the name of the street ! LOL...
    True story. :)

The impact the "incident" had was .... unspeakable. I was only 7 years old, and while I now don't remember much.... my mom said, after hearing the news (which my dad watched faithfully every night during supper time) that I didn't sleep for weeks... I do remember having nightmares about people breaking into the house and unaliving my parents.... it was frightening.... because nobody had been caught.... and they were still out there. It did not matter that it happened in California, and i lived in Arkansas.... it impacted me deeply.

When my best friend died I was gutted and pleaded with her to give me a sign she was still with me. I got specific and asked for a 4 -leaf clover...then I said to myself, you are just being stupid get a grip and sat on the back patio and quit looking. My husband came up a few minutes later and said, I found you something and handed me a 4-leaf clover...I lost it but I knew it was her!

Scott, I remember that you put this video out on June 3rd, 2024. The reason I remember is that I was waiting to leave for the hospital to have surgery. I started the video & then got a bad feeling that I shouldnt watch it, so I shut it off right away!
I just thought I needed to go into surgery with more positive thoughts & good vibes.
After watching this today, Im sure glad I waited!!!
I have watched videos at Davids house maybe 5 or 6 times before, but theres something about this one...not sure what it is. 🤷
Great video, Scott! Maybe someday if I get brave enough I will watch David's new movie.

Cool house. I'm surprised people dare to live on such a slope in an earthquake prone area. I wish they never tore down the old Tate house though it looked nicer than that mcmansion. Maybe the spirits don't like that place either.

I've collected all of the Ghost Hunters episodes through the years, and the one episode that stands out above the rest is the evening they investigated the activity there at David's home on Cielo Drive. The one EVP that was captured of the woman screaming in terror is forever imprinted in my mind. Was it Sharon or Abigail, who knows? Very sad really. A horrific stain in time that remains to this day.

💗🐕‍🦺. I think it would unnerve me being so surrounded by ghosts all the time. I wonder how he doesn't let it bother him? I wonder what indigenous peoples used to live in the area, and if any of the spirits are from their time? If I recall, there are weird electromagnetic fluctuations and levels in the house? What is the most scary event anyone has experienced there? Thank you 💗!

This took me back to 1969. I remember this case so well. Everyone was absolutely shocked that such an atrocity happened to these precious people. The horrible things that the Manson group did to them were so savage. I cried for Sharon Tate and her unborn child. I commend you David for living in a home where such evil transpired. It is nice to see that you have made a pleasant home out of it once again. Thank you for your story.
