Carol, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed watching your video. It's jam packed with imaginative uses of the kit and images you have collected. For a complete beginner like me, it's an absolutely wonderful source of inspiration. Curious minds, of course, have loads of questions...haha! Can I please ask you how you get those lovely shaped but ripped edges on your corner pockets? Also, your beautiful coffee dyed papers are so effective. Did you use a doiley stencil to get those lovely mottled effects? Finally, near the end of the journal on the page previous to the page with the three flaps you have done some gorgeous stencilling of a lace pattern very similar to the lace cut out in a flip up flip down notelet. Did you stencil the cut out lace paper edge? Sorry for so many questions. I'm a huge Jane Austen fan and have loved every bit of your journal. Thanks so much.
ok sooo the coffee dying ... I carefully scruched up my paper first and then flattened it out then dunked it in a strong coffee mix and dried it in the oven.
aaannnnddddd finally the stencilling was a border punch which I punched out of card then lay the card on the paper and used distress ink over the top, removed the card and voila! :) Hope all that helps xx
Susanna Easdale thank you 😊 yes it involves avocado. If you boil the dark skins it turns the water pink and then you use the water to dye your paper, lace and fabrics. The darker the skin, the pinker the dye 😁

Hi Nancy - the basics are you make a pot of tea or coffee and pour it into a large container. Dip your paper in the liquid and then dry your paper in the oven. There are many tutorials for this technique on YT :) xx
