      It's great to get a recent update on this! My parents moved to a new house with some trees in the back that would be PERFECT for a little tree net setup. I'm thinking of doing two levels of triangles so people can just hang out together out there and I'm hoping I can do it myself. I'm a pretty crafty person so I think I can learn the techniques if there are detailed enough videos.

It took me a day of researching general climbing stuff to get a better idea of what you’re talking about. Can you cover the different ways to actually tension the perimeter. Specifically without any mechanical assistance. What kinds of knots you use and how you start/end the perimeter.

    • @treenetweaves

      You could maybe use a turn buckle to get tension without pulleys but I think some sort of mechanical advantage is necessary in getting it tight enough :)

    Awesome videos, I think I have watched all your videos related to spacenets and trees…
    So ready as I am to start my tree net and weaving, I came to a budget problem. I am new to this “certified climbing rope” … I went to ebay/amazon to buy 12mm rope, and then 8mmfor the skeleton, and then 1500ft of paracord… all for a total of $100.
    I read about that rope being a scam… and so my proyect went up to $400 …
    I am in Colombia/southamerica… Can I use steel wire instead? And for the skeleton 8mm, and weaving with paracord… thanks in advance!

    • @treenetweaves
      @treenetweaves  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These can be very expensive but it’s well worth the investment… I’m sure steel wire is strong enough. I’m just worried that it’ll cause excessive abrasion to the rope that you tie to it. I can’t say for sure but the 8mm skeleton and paracord weave are definite yeses 😊🙌🏼

    • @GustavoChagui-rd8to
      @GustavoChagui-rd8to ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I found a tubular polister or nylon sleeve very cheap price around here, to cover the steel wire… do you thing that can reduce abrasion?

    • @treenetweaves
      @treenetweaves  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s my understanding that anything outdoors should be stainless steel. Especially in areas that’ll see water… Zinc is much more susceptible to rust when exposed to moisture vs stainless steel which will last much much longer.
      It’s common practice in rock climbing to avoid zinc plated steel in permanent fixed hardware for this exact reason.

    What happened to your fingers? And how does it affect you when building these nets?

    are all the parts of the series going to be released at the same time or over a period of time?

    • @treenetweaves
      @treenetweaves  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Over a period of time 😊 Patrons will get all my videos as soon as I’m done editing so chances are those will be out in just a few weeks! I’m expecting everything to be out by early November on TH-cam for everybody else.

    About How much does a space net cost total? (Time and money)

    • @treenetweaves
      @treenetweaves  ปีที่แล้ว

      It all depends on the size but a standard 10x10x10 triangle will take around $200 and 8 hours of labor. This changes on how quickly you can weave as well. Expect 10-12 hours of labor for your first one.

    Hey brother, so I have 1250 lb test muletape rope, we use it at work for pulling fiber optic cables through ducts, and when they use it, they throw it away afterwards, so I currently have several thousand feet of this rope, do you think it'd be safe for this?

    • @anthonyhandel5338
      @anthonyhandel5338 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Like, I was planning on making one of these today for my little cousin to have fun up in. I think if I maybe double wrap everything, it could work out nicely, but I am still unsure.

    • @treenetweaves
      @treenetweaves  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’d say that’s questionable as far as the perimeter goes.. I would use that for the weave no problem though! 😊

    Took me five whole minutes to notice he’s missing digits. I’m no scientist but I’d say it has something to do with working with incredible tension and making a mistake.
    If I were you, safety is the first thing I’d talk about.

      Hahaha that is pretty funny but it was just a birth thing 🙃
      A video on safety is a really good idea though! I’ll work something up. Thanks!

    I went to my local sports store and got some rope. I said I wanted something strong to climb on. I needed 600ft. He brought me 3 200ft ropes, cost me $1800 bucks. It better be good.

    about the first ,two sec of vid....Are you Glammin me Bro?
    jk thanks for vid . are you just going for tight as possible perimeter? as tight as your pulleys get it ? 100lbs? how you measure?

    • @treenetweaves
      @treenetweaves  ปีที่แล้ว

      Tighter is better but be careful not to go toooooo tight haha. You don’t want to break your trees or rope.
