I know it's a little late but if you want to hide the hands better in alt mode. You can use the peg inside the blue arm bracelets and push the peg into the hand hold then close the bracelet around the hand covering it up. The blue bracelets blend into the trailer making for a more complete alt mode.

Thank you for psoting the JTI videos - I could do G1 figures back in 84', 85' , and 86 ' with one hand tied behind my back and one eye closed- no I'm just an old man that loves TF's, but cannot figure them out for the life of me!!!!! ;-)
I feel like they put all their energy into ways to make the trailer into the armor without him being an immobile brick and then when it came time to make the cab they were like “lol I don’t know. F it just put his arms behind him, that’s good enough”

He's been that way since G1.
@@DamienK28 I mean with how nuts engineering has gotten in recent years in particular, I half expected there was some crazy figure where he just goes from truck+trailer into the combine directly.

How could they make Optimus Prime having fake grill as its abs while they could make unarmored Ultra Magnus, which is basically albino Optimus Prime, having its real alt mode grill as its abs...?
I know the alt mode would look slightly different, but still...
I think having a fake grill is so much better as it allows for more overall cartoon accuracy with its slimmer waist while this makes him look very chubby
I don't mind faux vehicle parts. Like on that new hotrod figure. That's just the way it was on the first show. The vehicle hood would get smaller when going to robot mode.
Yeah just look at the magic square Light of freedom because that looks very accurate and it doesn’t have a fake grill
