It was this masterpiece that introduced me to Mr Longdon. Been enthralled ever since with his angelic voice. RIP Dave. Thanks for your inspiration. Your talents will be sorely missed.

I've loved the original since it was published. A happy accident has led me to this exquisite arrangement, graced by Steve Hackett himself. What a bittersweet moment to find in the midst of revelling in this vocal treat that singer/flautist David Longdon had passed. Such a sweet contribution from a gifted soul. Thank you and RIP.
Same with me - as a lover of the original I was initially skeptical of a vocal version, and this blew me away - while also introducing me to David Longdon, who quickly became my all-time favorite singer. David's voice is angelic, and his songwriting is stunning. I whole-heartedly recommend checking out his band Big Big Train - their track "The First Rebreather" is a great entry point, and features some of David's best vocals. If you like what you hear, take a ride on the epic East Coast Racer. Their members also include Nick D'Virgilio, who plays drums on this video. Cheers!
Oh man, this is perfect. I bought Spectral Mornings on vinyl when it first came out, and played it till the tracks went dull. It never occurred to me one could add vocals and do anything other than wreck it. You people obviously love this music as much as I do. Thanks.

Magnificent version, splendid lyrics. It's brilliantly performed and quite moving indeed. Steve still sends shivers down my spine with his (too short !) solo part. The addition of delicate classical guitar is welcome, and Christina and David are singing magnificently. The clip is good too. Really, Rob Reed produced another good piece of music, and for a very good cause.... I know too well the Parkinson's Disease. Another plague we don't seem to have progressed to cure during the last 30 years....
I love this song since 35 years ago. Also Spectral Mornings is one of the best LPs of Mr Hackett's solo career. A good cover of a good song is better than most of nowadays new songs. Beautiful feeling, brilliant song. Thank you.

Spectral Mornings by Steve Hackett is my absolute favourite piece of music. I bought the EP for the charitable cause, however until last month never played it. Wow - the instrumental will always be my piece of music (it will be played at my funeral) however what a fantastic job has been done putting lyrics to this. I recently discovered Big Big Train due to their drummer's work with Sweetwater Music. BRILLIANT MUSIC! I have been following Steve Hackett since I discovered his guitar work on the Genesis album Seconds Out... Supper's Ready on that album, and Steve's wailing siren song at the end of the piece...WOW! I've seen Steve live during his Defector Tour in the States. I have almost all of his work, including GTR. The OUTSTANDING collaboration of these "best of the BEST" progressive rock musicians... I have no words... I am breathless. Get anything by Big Big Train, with their live videos... and the live Hackett DVD/Blu-Rays. GREAT MUSIC IS STILL AVAILABLE!!!

I was very fortunate to meet Tina and Rob at the Tubular Bells 50 Convention at the end of May and couldn't praise them enough for this brilliant rendition of Spectral Mornings. Just a pity David is no longer with us.
I usually think that the phrase 'please don't touch' applies to classic tracks as they are best left alone. However, whenever I hear the original instrumental version I'll probably think of this. Great transformation.
So blushes spared, I am clearly not the first person to be reduced to tears by this incredibly emotive performance. One minute you are composed and normal, and then bang, the tears flood out! There are also many sweet spots in the Genesis repertoire: and for me they are all responses to Steve's guitar (solo on All in a Mouse's Night the most overlooked). Mr Hackett, please invite these superb vocalists on your next tour. Over many years I have loved you playing this live, and again in 2019, but you have got to play this with David and Christina when you tour again! Simply sublime.
