When I first showed this to a guy I was helping learn guitar, he a; said "That's easy"! and b; began to doubt my abilities.
We are mostly all mere ashen remains of lesser men in comparison to Loomis and Merrow \m/
the way Jeff plays solos is like a voice from the heavens, he has speed and emotion to his playing which is hard to master

This is the absolute perfect example of good modern metal.
This song showcases that instrumental techy-proggy bands shouldn’t just worry about showing off with solos and flashy technique. This song has killer intricate riffs, great melody, ripping solos, and it’s extremely well put together. I’d love another conquering dystopia record.

Yes, and with Alex Rudinger and Alex Webster to boot, it's some of the best tech/prog/death metal I've heard. I can't stop listening to this album.

you should check the album "This Godless Endeavor" of Nevermore (old band of Jeff Loomis - my all time idol) mixed by Andy Sneap. That's reference class quality in terms of sound and production.

the song is amazing, but its hard to choose what to listen. Keith's riffs are amazing, and then you have Loomi's riffs which are good. I feel they're having a subtle guitar battle.

Alex P well be said Keith ' s riffs are amazing and Loomis' s are good. Keith is not even doing the slightest bit of shredding. Loomis is tearing a new ass in it. It is his band after all. The comparison should be the other way around. Loomis is amazing. Keith is good. That is what I meant.
Dave H. You act like he insulted Loomis. Good and Amazing aren't better than the other lol. They're both gifted guitarists. And no, its not Loomis' band. It Keiths, Loomis', Rudingers and Websters. It's a band.
The fact is, Loomis has a lead guitar style straight out of the 90s. For those of us that have heard that for the past 20 years, it's kinda boring. He's still awesome, but Keiths style is a lot more refreshing, however he really is a more rythmyic player. Together they're amazing.

I managed to make a cover of the solo in the beginning up on my channel. That took me a bit to get down but it's a Jeff Loomis solo so... you know lol I'm happy i pushed myself and practiced hard enough to finally get it down. I love Jeff, he's an absolute BEAST of a player! And Keith is phenomenal too, his riffs are face melting and with Jeff's leads they made some epic stuff together.
