Probably not the best way of watching kengan because of the jump cuts which made it look like saw paing lost. Also the explanations of their styles/techniques are cut out which makes the fights make sense
Seth's enthusiasm for all things Sumo is a joy to watch! For anyone not familiar with his main channel, Sensei Seth has become a very accomplished Sumo Wrestler in his own right.
Just found this channel recently. Wow glad to know he's enthusiastic about Sumo as well! I actually fell off watching pro-sumo a year or so back. Should get definitely get back into it. Will maybe watch highlights of the last couple Bashos before the July one starts
Kengan Ashura is on Netflix!! A lot of your questions are more clear if you get the full context. But yeah, hate it both when the scenes always cut out mid fight and then end early. You won't regret watching it though, give it a try!
Senpai just means someone who is higher in rank or just a bit older. Could be someone in a Dojo with a higher belt or someone who works in the same company for a longer time. But not like your boss or teacher.
I really enjoyed this. I recommend highly both Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple and Hajime No Ippo. Kenichi is sort of a Karate Kid style story, but the main character learn multiple martial arts all at the same time with badass masters that work him really hard, and Hajime No Ippo is the story of a boxing gym mostly centered around Ippo as he learns about boxing and follows his career, but it also shows fights focused on other gym members as well. Takamura is the G.O.A.T.
The whole thing with Tokito Ohma and Kure Raian is that they can intentionally speed their heart rate up to a near death amounts, I think by generating tons of adrenaline on command. Thats why they look like zombies, they are just at the brink of a heart attack. Also this type of adrenaline exposure is canonically breaking Ohma's body down and slowly killing him
Nope. Raian has a brain physiology different so he can produce a lot more of hormones and probably some that normal people can't, and his clan are genetic freaks so they have better control overall. Ohmar is true what you said, he have a technique that speeds his blood flow thus giving him more output of power, like an adrenaline shot
@@B..B. Ohyeah my bad abt Raian I kinda forgot how his stuff works. Yeah his whole clan are like selectively bred to be like the best fighters to ever exist I remember that
Raian's technique is "Removal". it simply removes the strength restrictions of your body, every kure family member has their on percentage and Raian is able to remove 100%, thats why hes SO purple then. It also really exhausts him thats why he couldnt use it second time in that fight.
Seth you should really watch the actual series mybe even just do a reaction to the entire series , I'll be speaking for everyone when I say that we'd love watching that
Definitely recommend reading the manga because they go way more in depth with the details of the martial arts and the manga style displays it a lot better. But definitely cool to see you react! Check out Baki as well if you’re looking to react to more ridiculous martial arts anime
The end of the video confirms that Seth is at least planetary level. Also Seth should watch Hinomaru Sumo if he really wants to get hyped on sumo in anime.
And now you've got new fight of kengan ashura with a lot of more epicness than before, especially Gaolan Wongsawat vs Agito Kahno. It's a banger I recommand it 👍
I have an suggestion, do a best episodes react, let the audience suggest, and do a Full react of the episode. It will be very cool, especially kus you can actually see who's won and understand the plot.
Im kinda late to this but the reason the ref doesnt stop them is because its a life or death tournament (only gonna stop if a fighter is COMPLETELY unable to fight)
You should react to Mou Ippon! It’s a judo anime about girls who yeet each other. Some of the matches are pretty great. The dialogue sadly is woven into a few of the fights so not all of them are continuous fighting scenes as it cuts to people commenting on them. They’re still pretty awesome though!
Saw paing actually won that fight, he's actually a lethwei practitioner not muay Thai, and kanoh, the guy in all black doesn't have a specific style he practices, he's done A LOT of different martial arts and is just one of the best fighters in the show and akoya, the one fighting cosmo (who is actually a no gi bjj guy and at the end of that he did end up choking him out) is a mentally deranged vigilante and police officer who is skilled in japanese police martial arts (I think it's usually called taiho jutsu)
Dude, you really need to see the full fights. Skip through everything that's not a fight, the show in general ain't that good... But the fights... Man, you'll love it.
Kure vs Ohma being purple vs red is genius storytelling which I wish people were smart enough to notice and point out. Kure is turning purple because his removal is causing cyanosis. His muscles are consuming so much oxygen from being overclocked that his skin isn't getting any oxygen as a side effect from recruiting way too many muscle fibers at a time. Ohma is turning red since his advance doesn't work on neurology increasing power output, his advance is essentially overclocking his heart to pump more blood and therefore increasing oxygen allowing for a prolonged sprint. Whereas Kure is punching you with more muscle, Ohma now has a bottomless well of energy and speed so he adds power by using a bigger windup.
Recomend actually going and watching the show and not these poorly edited jump cuts from a youtube video. You'd get a lot more out of it and enjoy the fights quite a bit more, I guarantee it.
it's been a while since I watched it, but the people who chose Sekibaiyashi actually wanted him to lose. Seki is a sumo wrestler, but he doesn't really care about sumo rules. So they put him in the tournament to humble him, and humble him did the pro-wrestling champ do.
The fights can end in death, if a person is determined enough to fight until they die or if their opponent decides to just go for a killing blow. But for the most part Kengan matches adhere to 1, you are not allowed to use anything but your own body...so "technically" no weapons 2, barring the weapons rule, the only rule is that there are no rules, each fight keeps on until either one participant concedes or is physically unable to continue.
Hey seth, been loving your content. One like this with baki would be cool but i can understand someone who doesn't watch anime not doing a bunch of these videos.
Seth not aknowledging that he is watching a fancy commercial, and that to get views on the actual show they leave out that actual highlights is funny af.
They didn't show the endings of the fights because they can't put the entire episodes on TH-cam, for copyright stuff. It's a Netflix anime, and I'm pretty sure it also has english dubbing (it has italian, so why shouldn't it have english?)
Jeez , there are some people who should actually watch the animé 😅 I love your commentary Sensei , it's really funny to watch that with the eyes of a sensei , I love it
Following are some animes to review 1. God of highschool 2. Hajime no ippo- it's a boxing anime . Beside the fights you should also watch its training videos ( they are really logical and scientific) . 3. Kenichi- the best deciple 4. Hinomaru sumo (this is for you Sensei Seth, the sumo guy)
For animes like this (I haven't seen it) the top 5 would be the most exciting for anyone to see, probably taking place later in the show. The early show fights will usually have more context and breakdowns of techniques being used, and would give you more to talk about.
Seth, you should react to Hinomaru Sumo! A shounen sports anime all about Sumo. I‘d love to get your take on it, and, as a matter of course, the Sumo guy ALWAYS wins in that one. :P
I love this show. The reason they were purple is bc they were in a transformative state where they basically are controlling there heart rate increasing the speed of there heart rate and allowing more blood flow throughout there entire body, Ultimately giving them more speed and power. But they can only use it for a certain amount of time.
I'd watch a Baki version of this. There's some insane stuff that happens in that show, but I think it captures the spirit of martial arts really well in certain fights
"Hinomaru Sumo" is a Sumo anime that while a bit over the top is pretty good, MC is I guess too short to be a professional Sumo Wrestler but trains himself to overcome that disparity by just being freakishly strong and his signature technique. Obviously also "Hajime No Ippo" for boxing is legendary in anime and "Wind Breaker" is pretty insane with its fight scenes and styles shown. Love your reactions though not sure if its the clips, but some details in the fights aren't being displayed properly or are skipping or missing some good parts and some detail though. Not sure if its the clips your finding are doing the cutting or not, though think it would benefit to find clips that are not so sporadic with the fights, and slowing scenes down can show a lot of detail that otherwise is missed due to how fast it is or the animation style.
Just go watch the series. It’s worth watching to see the full end of all the fights. Next anime is Record of Ragnarok. They use weapons and the fighters are human legends vs. mythical gods. It’s epic
Sempai is an upper classman who mentors a lower classman (Kohai). Like a ten year old who looks out for an 8 year old at school. The sempai/kohai dynamic is presumed to extend to any time when a senior person works with a junior person - like the OG and the noob in an office or the old cop and rookie partner. Or senior student/Deshi who isn’t the sensei in a dojo but does do some of the teaching/coaching of junior students. Translating it to brother might be a way of saying that the sempai is like a big brother figure, or maybe a coloquial “Bro!” - it definitely doesn’t mean male sibling.
And the fight scenes that you watch were 2022. You need to go watch The One. That's 2023 the new one. It's even better please watch it o k goodbye until next time❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yeeeah, honestly watch Hajime No Ippo, Or Kenichi The Mightiest Disciple. Though the second one has a bit more.. fanservice depending on whose fighting, it's a lot of fun. Ippo is just.. stylized boxing but with lots of history and respect to the sport, the writer is a boxing coach and has been most of his life, so he put a lot into it.
The fights are severely cut in editing probably for copyright reasons. I strongly suggest you watch the fault fights in dub( the weebs are gonna screech in terror but whatever) then you're really gonna get the full effect how good these fights are.
The difference between Raian and Ohma are how they use their "modes" even though they look very similar. Raian is part of the Kure Clan who are warriors that mate with other really strong and naturally gifted people in order to create strong offspring. These strong offspring can use the mode called "Removal" which unlocks their potential in their brain by a certain amount and that increases all of their stats(speed, strength, dexterity, endurance, defense, etc). Raian is one of the very very very few that can unlock 100% and he isn't even using his clan techniques in this fight, he's just swinging which tells you how insanely strong he is(Removal could basically speed blitz majority of the people in this tournament). Ohma is using a mode that is called "Advance" or "Possessing Spirit" which is a counter to the Kure clan's Removal. Instead of it effecting the brain, it effects the heart by overclocking it so that it forces the blood to accelerate throughout the body and give insane speed, dexterity, strength and more. The only issue is that it is dangerous since it makes the heart work harder(basically the same thing as Luffy's Gear 2 from One Piece). That's why you'll hear Raian talking in a weird voice while Ohma mainly makes grunts due to the bloodflow going so fast that all he can do is make a huge smile(he literally struggles to talk in that mode because of how tight his skin gets and the blood flow going crazy through the veins). In short summary...both of them are basically superhuman with those modes in comparison to everyone else who just has insane skills, insane builds, insane reaction timing and more.
Akoya (dude with spiked hair) early in the fight brutally dominated Cosmo and drilled his ribs with his thumb pretty gore... yet Cosmo won. Amazing show
m.youtube.com/@Sosapotence3001990 This channel has most if not all the kengan fights here to watch fully from beginning to end but mildly edited to wave off copyright so...have fun!
Best way to explain Raian and Ohma Ohma has the ability to basically increase the bloodflow throughout his body, think of it like Goku using Kaioken to get a temporary boost in power. The drawback being it taxes his heart when he does this. Raian has a similar technique, as he comes from a clan of assassins modeled after the Gracie family. The Kure clan can remove the psychological limit of strength that the human body can dish out. Basically able to control the concept of hysterical strength and and his family gains this ability through selective breeding. Raian is one of the few people in his family who can reach 100% of his body's maximum potential strength, with other people in his family able to reach 30-80%
Here are three that might be interesting for a martial artist: Baki, Kenichi: History's strongest disciple, Hajime no Ippo! Baki is is the son of the world's strongest fighter and wants to take revenge on his dad for killing his mom. Kenichi is about a kid with no talents in martial arts who happens to stumble into THE ultimate Dojo housing six grandmasters who view him as their ultimate project. Hajime no Ippo is the most realistic one out of the three, it's about a kid who discovers his talents s a boxer and wants to turn pro, but also experiences all the hardships that come with that. And of course I have to recommend one of the most hype fights in all of Anime: Rock Lee vs Gaara, from Naruto. Gaara is a naturally gifted/cursed Ninja who was born with a terrifying supernatural ability, while Lee can't use any special abilities despite all his training and has to rely solely on his hand-to-hand-combat training to keep up.
Guy in the short gi: Taiho-jutsu. It is JSDF's style of martial arts used for arresting people Guy in the black suit: Sorta whatever he wants. He is basically a copycat martial artist who also has super strength and shit Guy with the cross who gets his neck snapped: Barjutsu, which is portrayed as British Jujitsu And yeah, these fights typically started midfight and ended before it actually ended. If you are looking for anime martial arts content, Baki is the other big series, though it has a lot of issues. That said, way more anime for it, and the fight scenes do look nice
Yeah this video has him several minutes into the fight, major events during the fight are cut, and the ending is being cut. Seth is being betrayed by the video. For example he thought the fishing guy brought a kick down on saw paing. However it was actualy an upward punch. It explains in the anime that he has a super natural ability to strike with power from unsteady angles with sufficient force due to him being used to fighting on the sea. Essentially he's really good at dealing damage with muscle punches. It's honestly quite obvious he'd lose since he's just a big guy rather than a good fighter. Muscle punches and bear hugs aren't common practice for high level fighters for a reason.
Hello Seth...About Kengan AShura, read the english subtitles, then you know which style against which style yadi yadi etc etc..LOVE your K.A:Reactions ...MERRY CHRISTMAS Everyone!!
I learned the rear naked choke outside a bar when a guy used it on me. I can't remember why we got into that situation (it was a while ago and I was quite drunk), but afterwards he was impressed with how long it took before I went to sleep so he taught me how to do it.
I really enjoyed these reactions, it’s just a shame that the top 10 fight video cuts out all the context for the fight as it makes it a bit difficult to follow
Have you watched the Kenichi anime. Small bodied kid takes fighting lessons from a group of martial artist, each with a different style. I love the story as the kid develops muscles and fighting skills, and confidence.
please watch Kanoh Agito vs Gaolang Wongsawat fight (kengan ashura season 2) . For a bit of context Gaolang is a boxing champion and an incredible muay thai fighter. Kanoh is a very adaptable fighter who knows a lot of martial arts (like you) and wants to beat Gaolang in boxing
if you want to know how these fights end, just type in "insert name here" vs "insert name here" Kengan Ashura. Plenty of people upload the full fights to youtube, some in English dub even.
Next you should go to the next level of anime absurdity and watch some Baki fights. Or since you like sumo so much, there's a sumo anime called Hinomaru Sumo that's excellent.
especially with season 2 I think you should watch itadori and todo vs hanami and itadori vs choso from jujutsu kaisen. Good fights and just jujutsu kaisen stuff in general
kenichi the mightiest diciple¡ is about an ordinary dude that gets bullied in school, meets this martial arts girl that teaches him a little bit of karate, and manages to get a bully of his back, inspired by this he goes to the girls dojo, and asks to be trained, there are 5 masters in the dojo a karate master, an ancient jujitsu master, chinese kempo master, muay thai master, and a weapons master, the training is brutal, basic training, endurance, strenghtening, etc and diciple kenichi starts getting more into the martial arts world, having different types of fights and so on the anime is pretty good, but is incomplete i recomend the manga which is great ¡
“These fights end 10 seconds too soon”
They also start 5 minutes already in 😂
Cosmo's fight is literally the last seconds, after a fucking torture session on the first half
@@albertonishiyama1980 both fights*

Saw lost tho.
Edit. I mistake for the other fight 🤡
I agree
Yeah because you need to watch the build up for it to make sense
Yeah, Saw Paing is my favorite fighter. Annoying how they cut that fight.
Yea there's better montages out there, but im just jazzed for this video. Each character is pretty cool and true to their style.

The fights can end in death, if a person is determined enough to fight until they die or if their opponent decides to just go for a killing blow.

Master Seth, i recommend you watch the series for you to understand the contex and results of the fights. Thiers also break downs of the techniques
just to make you happy: kiozan wins 12 matches in a row after that lose and becomes a really good, and "true" honorable sumo wrestler
You should watch the full episodes, especially with the s2 fights
hopefully he does a part 3 with the cosmo vs ohma fight. That choreography was great and one of the few mainly grappling matches
hinomaru sumo, Its an anime abaout sumo really good abaout a small guy who love sumo

Hey Seth! Make It a series, react to the whole anime, ep by ep. That would be sick!
By the way seth u made me fall in love with sumo. Muay thai practitiiner here
Munguía undefeated middleweight 🏁🇲🇽🌹❤️🔥
Seth, if you watched the full fights from Kengan Asura, you would get a lot more context, and see who wins. Great content though!
Akoya (dude with spiked hair) early in the fight brutally dominated Cosmo and drilled his ribs with his thumb pretty gore... yet Cosmo won. Amazing show

This channel has most if not all the kengan fights here to watch fully from beginning to end but mildly edited to wave off copyright so...have fun!
Best way to explain Raian and Ohma
Ohma has the ability to basically increase the bloodflow throughout his body, think of it like Goku using Kaioken to get a temporary boost in power.
Hey Seth you should watch hajime no ippo, its based on boxing
Guy in the short gi: Taiho-jutsu. It is JSDF's style of martial arts used for arresting people
Guy in the black suit: Sorta whatever he wants. He is basically a copycat martial artist who also has super strength and shit
Guy with the cross who gets his neck snapped: Barjutsu, which is portrayed as British Jujitsu
And yeah, these fights typically started midfight and ended before it actually ended.
If you are looking for anime martial arts content, Baki is the other big series, though it has a lot of issues. That said, way more anime for it, and the fight scenes do look nice
Please watch "Hinomaru Sumo" fights! It's an anime all about sumo, and yes the sumo guys win in this show.
Hope the frequent commentors also mention better way to watch the fights t hen whatever compilation video this is 😁
You should definitely react to Hajime no Ippo it’s probably the most realistic martial arts anime and just one of the best boxing stories ever
Totally should watch all of each fight I think you would have a lot more fun
I learned the rear naked choke outside a bar when a guy used it on me. I can't remember why we got into that situation (it was a while ago and I was quite drunk), but afterwards he was impressed with how long it took before I went to sleep so he taught me how to do it.
Seth please this compilation you’re watching is doing a huge disservice to Kengan 😭
You should check out Kenichi history's mightiest disciple! As well as fog hill of the five elements. Maybe throw in Vinland or a sumo anime
Good fights and just jujutsu kaisen stuff in general
kenichi the mightiest diciple¡
is about an ordinary dude that gets bullied in school, meets this martial arts girl that teaches him a little bit of karate, and manages to get a bully of his back, inspired by this he goes to the girls dojo, and asks to be trained, there are 5 masters in the dojo a karate master, an ancient jujitsu master, chinese kempo master, muay thai master, and a weapons master, the training is brutal, basic training, endurance, strenghtening, etc and diciple kenichi starts getting more into the martial arts world, having different types of fights and so on
the anime is pretty good, but is incomplete i recomend the manga which is great ¡
