    All my life i've wanted to join. In the last year i made the decision to do so, however, a few months ago I ended up fainting in a shop, smashed my head on the floor, this caused me to have quite a severe head trauma which lead into 3 seizures at the hospital, I think i've developed epilispy from this as sometimes I faint and have mini seizures which lasts no more than 5 seconds. its a very rare occurrence and extremely fustrating, but utlimately stops me from joining.
    All im saying is Ladies & Gents, if you want to join, do it now when you're fit and healthy, as you don't know what life has in store for you around the corner, I wish i had listened to myself and followed my dreams a lot earlier.
    Get your A game on and start training. Life is what you make it. Have no regrets.

      I really wanted to sign up but having known someone who passed in Helmand I refuse to - it's definitely hard not to be interested though. I think it's easy to forget this stuff ain't all fun and games and when it comes to crunch time you are going to be put into horrible situations. Don't think I have the brass honestly and I know for a fact he would tell me not to sign up if he could. He was 23 and a true legend.

    If you are contemplating on joining the Army - you're already there.
    The best advice any ex-server can give you is: Immerse yourself in it. Throw yourself at whatever the DS give you to do.
    They're not asking you to do anything that they haven't done themselves, or is impossible.
    Creates greatness it does. Creates more confidence than you could ever imagine.

    I’ve currently been trying to get to basic training for nearly 3 years. Due to false information on my medical records, that highlight depression (which I’ve never had) yet it shows on my medical records. So far I’ve had 2 applications, both have been rejected on my medical form stage, I do not in any way want to give up on joining the army, in particular the Paras. I’m going as far as a court case to rectify and correct my medical records, and hopefully after more than 3 years and money spent, hopefully, I can make it to basic training.

      I was there for 6 months, and yeah, when you’re there, you basically work 6 days a week in training. You get Sunday’s off. Rarely a Saturday. But every other day you’ll be doing something. You’ll wake up at 5am ready for morning scoff, then you’ll end up sleeping at either 22:00 or 23:00 depending on if you have your military locker squared away for morning inspection :)

    I did 14 weeks basic at catterick parachute regiment. I made a harsh decision to leave and ended up joining the reserves and have a part time job on the side. The money is good from both if you balance it well like I do and you don’t have to have that army life style (which in my opinion is glorified prison) just putting it out there for anyone who isn’t 100% sure about joining the army. Perhaps even join the reserves and move over to the full time army which is still always in my head if I choose. Good luck to anyone who tries. More that can be said for most.

      Ease yourself into it. Practice with small weights (5-10kg) at first and only do short distances (2-3 miles). Aim to complete each mile in 15 minutes. Once you begin to do that then increase weight and distances gradually upto around 20kg/8miles. Remember to run or "shuffle" for at least a minute every mile, this will help to loosen off your legs

    Hey, I was wandering if it is possible for some to be able to complete basic training and training for infantry/ Guardsmen/ partrooper and be deployed and come back all in one year or is that not possible because I am plainin to take a leap year and do it and if it not what is the shortest amount of time one can be in the military. ( only in the military front line for the second question)

      @CP-ne5nf 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you’re asking if you can be the army for a year, it’s a no, you have to do 4 years minimum, never mind deployment etc.

      Will the largest decent group in the USA is German in fact Americans have a long history with German influence in their military like Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben he was born in Germany but would later move to America and become a general there and would give the British hell he later died in New York in fact the American accent doesn’t sound like it’s related to the British accent because of all the German immigrants that came in and changed the accent for example Australia 🇦🇺 kinda sounds similar to the British accent as well as the kiwi accent and the South African accent Americans however lost that because of the Germans Americans are just modern day germans cheers from Sweden 🇸🇪
