Love the mix of these troops, their characters and attitude. A real eye-opener. When I was a first year at Uni, there was nowhere near that level of camaraderie. Makes me proud to be British knowing they are the next generation of the army.

Agreed. Some individuals join for a trade. Those people are drivers or carpenters, cooks, etc in the Army. I was a professional soldier because my trade was soldiering in the Infantry.

How times have changed, when I was there the cooks virtually threw the food at you while calling you all the names under the sun, you had about 2 minutes to get it down your neck then you were outside again doing the robot walk.
So im a british born citizen who lived in the UK for the first 5 years of my life, but have moved away and been living overseas ever since. I'm thinking about going back to the UK and joining up, but i cant seem to find an answer as to wether or not me living abroad would cause any problems in the recruiting process or not. Why did you join the Army , well one would normally answer to serve Queen and country , in my day it was to get three square meals a day , and i can honestly say , to see the world , which one could back in the day, not so today , as for the pay and conditions today , say no more
@@coreyg670 Basic training is more or less the same. It's designed to get you fit physically & mentally & disciplined in as short a time as possible. In WW2 it was trimmed right down to 2 weeks!
God daaaam you new recruits have it easy in my day you got coakroaches with a bacon and beans stuffing also i seen a post of the p.t doing the heartbreak hill circuit and the p.t.i actually gave the recruits of the option of doing heartbreak hill or not we never were allowed to have an opinion on anything i also heard that if the temperature drops below -0 you can do your final exercise on camp and stag was posted on the block front door lmao bit of a joke if you ask me or maybe im just jealous 😂😢
@Horacio Nelson wouldn't know these days they will go to Gibraltar barracks at black water and train at Hawley hard for engineer training back in the day we did ten weeks basic at gib then ten weeks engineer training at gib then on to trade training now its seems to be catterick or pirbright Winchester used to be green jackets or howards

I’m female to male transgender and want to join the army too. Although I’m 16 and on testosterone, about to have top surgery so I’m not sure I’d be very open about it. Do u have any info on it? Would I have to be with the girls?

I’ll advise you enjoy Pirbright’s food, it might be the best you’ll have in your Army career; apart from when on tour with the Yanks 😂.
