What about a 'respectfully disagree' comment? Does that count as 'hate'? Francis Bacon was actually the first to formalize the concept of a true scientific method. He was also a devout Christian. A fun interesting thing is how scientists have recognized brain patterns while you die, suggesting a replay of everything that’s happened in your life until your death. They’ve also found out that dying is a pretty wholesome and calm experience, and some people who’ve had a near death experience don’t want to go back to life. It’s fascinating.
This is very true. I had a near life experience from a sickle cell crisis and pneumonia and my red blood count was 3 I literally felt life leaving my body while I prayed to God and told him I'm ready if this is my time. I was a Jehovahs witness and couldn't take a life saving blood transfusion because it's against our beliefs. As I laid there dying I felt soooo calm and at peace. No fear. No pain just nothingness and a bright light like an angel floating to me. The doctor told my family and friends I was giving up and I was dying for refusing the blood. But I put faith in God and let him decide. The next day cam after No blood was given but iron and alternative medicine and my doctor and everyone knew it was a miracle because every day my blood count went up a number or 2. But that near death experience will stay with me for the rest of my life. I'm thankful for another chance but savor those very few moments of peace and total bliss.

I was going through an existential crisis too and it was terrible. I really wished that God would appear all of a sudden and tell me that there is something after death and not just neverending unconciousness. I wanted to believe in God so bad to get rid of these thoughts but after time I realised that life is so beautiful because of how short it is and there is no time to be worried about what comes after death❤

Yes, forcing beliefs on others is bad regardless of what religious standpoint you hold. The reason why the comment you responded to is talking about religious people doing this specifically is because those are usually the sorts of people to do such things. Atheists are in the minority, only making up about 7% of the world’s population.

This really resonates with me. As an atheist, one night, when I was little, I started thinking about death and started crying. The concept of nothingness really overwhelmed me, and the thought of my mom, dad, sister dying and just, nothing happening after that horrified me. My grandfather, whom I looked up to a lot also had died a bit before that, so I was just thinking about him, just not existing anymore, his personality, etc.
I was little, so I forgot about it eventually, and I've not had an existential crisis since, saying, "it is what it is", but end of story, I went to my mom and dad's room, cried about it to them, slept with them and it all turned out okay. I feel like having an existential crisis when I was little really helped me now 💀

Its a normal reaction when your young, the chemical reactions are wild in that age, the truth hurts, but thats why we need to make the most out of this one chance, the world might be scary, but it is also amazing that you can do so much.

the looking up what death was like and reading tons of articles about it and then panicking about it literally happened to me a little while ago. i wasn’t getting set off all the time like you were, but it’s something i would think about often and it would make me feel pretty sad. i agree with everything you said in this video and it felt good to hear someone say what i was thinking.

It’s so refreshing to see someone who’s dealt with a similar existential crisis. I once believed the afterlife would be Heaven for all beings, beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. Since I’ve come to understand the nature of logic and evidence, it’s like there’s been a hole in my heart where Heaven used to be. It’s been on the back of my mind every day for years now, all I can think about are the possibilities for its existence. I can’t imagine never seeing such a beautiful place, where the vibes go so high. To have “nothingness” by comparison, fills me with a despair I wouldn’t wish on anyone. The only cure is to be grateful I’m not in an equal and opposing hell.
Man... Your existential crises is EXACTLY ALIKE my own. In the very few times I described it to people I used the exact same words and examples, in the same order. It's uncanny. The certainty of oblivion and the unstoppable, unflinching, indifferent passage of time are the things that get me really hard.

Been down both paths, and it's almost funny how things turned out. Starts out with the most profound feeling of liberation and enlightenment then gradually spirals into a frenzy of uncertainty, panic and hopelessness.
Greatest realization I've had to get past that is that the mere fact of believing or not believing doesn't make you better than the other, it's what you accomplish as a result of it.

God does care about us. He just doesnt always prevent all the bad things, bc this world has sin. It all started with Adam and Eve, the world was basically perfect, but when they didnt listen to the one rule that God made (not eating the apple from one specific tree), a world of sin started. He’s not preventing all of the bad things because of everyone’s free will and things like disease and natural disasters occur bc of sin in the world and Satan

When I was like 10 years old, I realized the concept of nothingness after death. Part of it was because I misunderstood the concept and thought of a black void that you can't escape, it scared me. But as I got older, I understood that it's nothingness, and there's nothing to be scared about if there's literally nothing at all.
But... We as Christians believe in heaven or hell so I haz a question... How would you feel if you died and you went to hell? Would you be surprised or just except the fact that you'll be in hell for ETERNITY...? (Just asking, not trying to offend you.) But if there is just nothingness, what would be the point in our existence? Why would we have to go through all this when we could just kill ourselves and everything would be "OK?"

@@C003 It may sound weird at first but it's really not. You're just gone. And it's not sad or anything like that, because it's literally nothing. It's so nothing that you can't describe it.
In my opinion/philosophy, if life after death is nothingness/non-existent then there might be life after it, sort of a reincarnation but not really because it's a new life. You're not necessarily human-like in your new life. The nothingness could be perceived as an intermission to your new life or something like that if it makes more sense to you, but who knows.

10:10 When I found that out it made me value my life and my love ones even more, because I knew that I have a limited time with them and a limited time on this earth, it also made watching war scenes in movie feel kinda sad, like “Oh look at that, a guy just got stabbed, and now he's gone........ forever”
I have have dealt with the same existential crisis of the thought of what the experience of being dead feels like. After awhile I then realized that before I was born I too was like this. knowing I'd already had that experience felt more comforting to me.

I think that no one should have beliefs forced upon them or force beliefs onto others. Watching this led me to ask some questions about my faith. Answering questions about your beliefs and questioning them is the only way to grow stronger in faith. I love hearing atheist arguments because they get me to think and you have done that my friend. Nate, I don’t know if you’re going to see this. But I’m currently in a situation where I’m starting to really question my faith, at around the same age as you actually. This personally hasn’t been a sudden occurrence, but rather a slow buildup over the last couple of years. As my viewpoints on the world have developed over time, I’ve been questioning things more and more. I don’t know how to feel about this, I certainly hope there is a possibility that life after death exists. As you said in the video however, I’m beginning to doubt said possibility. In fact, your video makes a lot more sense to me now than it did when I was more confident in my faith. This is exactly how I feel. I thought I was understanding things wrong. I had the whole terrified death for a solid 2 weeks during January of this year(2022). It was horrible I couldnt sleep without crying. I wish I could be religious but it just doesnt make sense. I have now accepted death. But it still scares me that I no longer have that religion to help cope. If your religious and you truly believe in it keep going and dont let anyone stop you. Just dont try to stop others from finding what they believe in to.

For example I could do something good or something evil just because I choose good doesn’t mean I’m a robot and don’t have free choice it just means I chose good
Even if it doesn’t make logical sense god could just make it so that there is no evil but free will exists since he’s apparently all powerful
It's an interesting idea that God could give us free will without evil, which is the freedom to do things against what he says is right... But how would you even know if something were bad or not if you were never told what the difference is? You could then think all things are good, without any standard?
Or, you would be programmed to only do the things God deems right, without ever knowing there is any other possibility...
But then you would not be able to understand or appreciate how valuable those good things are.
So, I think that is more like a robot... and maybe some of us would prefer being robots rather than realizing more... Ignorance is bliss.
But the first humans did make that decision, they wanted to know what God knows, the wanted greater knowledge and used their freedom to distrust that what God said was true.
So, it really wasn't an issue about whether they ate from a tree or not, whether it is literal or not, but that they distrusted God.
But even so God still saw fit to protect them and work with humanity throughout history to give us the opportunity to know his word is true and be saved.
Maybe God could have simply implanted the knowledge of what is evil, without ever having to experience it first hand, but what would that look like? What we're experiencing now could be a blip of an experience, a vision, given to us to understand...
At the end of the day, we cannot change what God decided to do, even if we don't enjoy it, but we can learn and gain a different perspective on the temporary suffering we face, and know the promises of God to restore things for eternity are true for those who turn to Him.

But I'd say, if you believe it's a good thing to strive for a better future, because life is worth living and you believe it can be better , then why would you not want to know God who gave us life to begin with? And why would you want to try to strive for your own plan for peace, when humans will actually never be able to achieve that within their own power. This world is dying, and it won't be restored by human abilities.
Your desire for peace and the contentment you find in that is a good thing. But based on what I know, I would say that is part of Gods design for us, it is set in our heart, not merely because we have chemical reactions that cause us to desire it. So, if you could connect that vision you have with God, and what your true identity is meant to be, then you might not want to throw away what God is promising to all of us, to be restored for eternity if we learn to see the goodness he intends for us, rather than our own idea which will never compare.
But that is the spiritual battle we all face, this humility and ability to give up our idea of trying to control things, but trust in the one who made everything and how His plan will be what plays out in the end.
If you knew for sure that you could see life restored, never knowing pain or death again, seeing beauty beyond anything we've seen during this time... would you want to throw that away for the sake of just living for a speck of time in this dying world, enjoying a dim and broken version of what God intends for us?
And plus why doesn’t the god just show himself and go like “yeh so you’re all wrong and I’m real so no need to worry all you have to do is Believe in me now and do the right thing...k? K...” and if it’s because he wants us to have the freedom to believe in him or not then how come people started to believe in him? Maybe they saw something supernatural or saw a miracle? But how do we know without doubt there just wasn’t something slight of hand or by chance and pure luck happening?
I had a falling out with my church in my small town a quite a bit ago, and for a while I turned to stone cold facts and nihilism, thought “nothing matters so do what you want”, but that left me feeling empty and cold, then a buddy of mine gave me “Wicca a Gide for the solitary practitioner” by Scott Cunningham, since then I’ve followed Athena and Artemis, I know it’s a little silly, but it has honestly helped me start meditating and getting more in touch with nature and following all this Wicca and witchcraft stuff has really helped with my anxiety and depression.

That’s why in my opinion, being agnostic makes more sense (not gnostic, they are two different things). We embrace the fact that there are things we don’t understand, we embrace the posibility of a god, but we know there’s no way to confirm it. The possibilities are endless and the most important think is asking yourself „why“? And looking for answers.
