Thank you so much for making such a great review of this show (I watched your season 1 review, also awesome!). I was trying to find a good review like this and it was perfect. And wow those history references were great!!! I LOVED this show. Thanks again, cheers!
I really enjoyed the show, one gripe I do have is the aging up of Ysabeau and Philippe to make them seem more parental. In the books Ysabeau is said to look younger than Matthew himself.
I agree, the actors were great and think they aged the characters to match their vampire age to help the audience understand the vampire families better, but I feel like there was another way of doing that, I mean he refers to Ysabeau as Maman, that already does the trick.
I watched the first season a while back and i couldn't pass the 6th episode, it seemed a bit slow. I recently gave it another try and I got hooked. What an amazing show with a wonderful cast. Superb acting! Magic is a difficult element to work with on series. Too much and it could appear Disney like, too little could make it unamusing. In my opinion Teresa's acting was the real magic. I'm a bit disappointed by the 10th knot and the final battle with some of the antagonists but in overall it was a great ending
I first watched the show first before I read the books. I enjoyed the series. Although I wished it could have been longer. After reading the books I still like the series but not as much. I feel too much was left out of the 3rd season and It annoys me now about some of the changes made throughout the 3 seasons. Especially the story line in season 1 where they made Marcus unable to sire. This made absolutely NO sense when it comes to season 3 and learn he has a whole family in New Orleans.
A lot of people have said its a bit too descriptive but I liked that about it, going from reading high fantasy it was nice to find magic in the mundane.
I love the costumes on this show! This show is just awesome as well! Thanks for the great coverage this show is really underrated!
Thanks for watching!
Your review is quite sober and considerably erudite. Bravo!

Thanks so much! The books were written by a historian so, hopefully I did it justice!

I'm glad I saw the series before I read the book.
Just started the tv series. It really makes me want to start the books
Highly recommend!
I’m just annoyed they didn’t show what daemons could do at all. Nor vampires really.

Wasn’t a fan of the first book when I read it, maybe I’ll give the series another go.
