    Thank you! Now I have the balls to do it myself! Not to mention I’ve done the shocks with 5100 adjustables already, might as well finish the job! Thank brother!

    Thanks so much for the upload. Was looking for something like this. I have a new set of UCA's here, I'm just waiting on my new coilovers to come in. Doesn't look too bad, especially with this step by step video to follow

    I literally LMAO when you dropped that washer! Been there so many times. Nice touch adding the washer drop sound to the end of the video. Looks like you're a fellow FD brother, stay safe man!

      Thanks for your comment, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! I think the 'washer drop' will be my new ending sound to my videos! And yes, been on 13 years now with the fire department! Stay safe!

    Thank you for making these videos.You so helped me out.Your tundra looks sweet! I got a 2008 tundra and i’m installing UCA’s, toytec boss coil over suspension lift,and coach builder shackles. My rims are a +25 offset. Do you think i can fit a 295/70r18 nitto ridge grappler without doing the body mount chop? I’m getting ready to order tires and install everything soon. I’m on the fence about tire size. I would be so happy if my truck sits like yours.

      chuck sprouse I’m glad you enjoyed my videos! That’s awesome that you’re going to make some modifications, are you going to record it? My truck is now sitting on Bilstein 6112/5160s on the top setting with +3 coachbuilder shackles. I actually dropped from my stock TRD wheels (18”) to these Methods that are 17” and 0 offset. I’ve got 35” KO2s and they were rubbing before I did the body mount chop. I’d highly recommend looking online and consulting forums (aka people smarter than me) about tire fitment. I’m not very good at determining that kind of stuff. Sorry!

  • @lobodog23
    @lobodog23 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Nice video bro. What's your opinion on the Freedom Off Road UCA's now that you have had them a little while? I am strongly considering goin with them. Did they contact the coil bucket at all, I have seen some people saying they had to grind the coin bucket down a bit which I'm ok with if needed. Thanks

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Thanks for watching! I didn't make any alterations to mount the Freedom UCAs. To me, they slid right into place as I expected them to do so. For me personally and with the components I went with (Bilstein 6112s on top setting), they have worked great. If you're trying to be a baller on a budget like me, I'd highly recommend them! As with any 'major' suspension change (adding aftermarket UCAs and loosening the LCAs to slide everything in) I definitely needed an alignment afterwords. The person doing my alignment had no issues bringing everything into spec.

    5:17 "OH BOB SAGGIT!"
    How much did you torque the top 2 bolts since the bottom cotter pin is 81 ft lbs. I went on tundra forums and seems like they torque the 2 top bolts 173 ft lbs, is that correct on your end?
    Also what greese fitting did you use? Is it possible to use any greese fitting like you can use on the drive shafts or does it have to be a specific exact type?

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha! Bob Saget!!
      If you check out my other videos, I have one for the UCAs. I did tighten that bolt down to 173 ft/lbs.
      As far as grease fittings, I'll see if I can check if it fits my same grease gun that I use on my drive shaft.

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I recall correctly, there wasn’t enough room with the firewall to insert it from the other direction. Besides, it may be best to just reassemble the way it was originally put together.

    • @BargainPaper

      They’re great. I’m not doing any crazy rock crawling or off-roading so dropping big money on my suspension was unnecessary. These have been a great upgrade over stock. No regrets.

    What was the torque on the long bolt through the uca?

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jeff Parker 173 ft/lbs. I had to split up my videos into a ‘UCA install’ and ‘Bilstein 6112 install’ due to it being too long. In the other video, at 8:46 you can see my notes that I torqued everything down to.

    I'm running 35's on Bilstein 5100's adjustables (no spacer lift) and have no rubbing whatsoever. Will I starting rubbing on the frame after doing this? Thanks.

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to say. I would guess that if you have no rubbing now, you probably won't with upper control arms. BUT these upper control arms are to bring alignment back within spec after gong 2-4" of lift. How much lift do the 5100s provide and have you had any issues getting the truck aligned?

    How'd you orient / put in offer the washers onto the knuckle?

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you are in fact asking how the washer was oriented on the knuckle.. I assume you're asking where the knuckle meets the upper ball joint and there was not a washer there. If you are asking how they were oriented on the upper control arm, I cannot honestly remember as I did this 5 months ago. If you pause the video at 5:12, you might be able to get a better idea. Sorry I could not help you more.

    Somewhere you changed the stock 4600s out for 5100s?

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I ran the stock 4600's with a spacer lift until I finally swapped them out for the 6112s. I did it at the same time that I did this upper control arm video but TH-cam would not allow me to post the full video as it was too long. You can see the other portion where I installed the 6112's here:

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      After looking over Freedom Off Road's website, it looks like the only control arms they currently have is for 2"-4" lifts. So far, I have zero complaints. They haven't given me any issues and are working better than I could have ever hoped. In fact, I did not realize how worn out my old upper ball joints were until I installed these! I purchased them off of ebay as I found them for a little cheaper there brand new!
