I absolutely love this. I love dreaming about adventures like this and a rim2rim is on my bucket list. I really appreciate you putting this together and sharing. It is amazing to see the helicopters bringing in the supplies for the crew to work on that trail. Pretty impressive stuff.
Hi. I jumped over from Miyagi on the Trail's version of this trip and am always excited to find another backpacking channel. I'll be watching & learning. Thanks for putting this together and sharing!
Looks lik you guys had a blast! I love watching hikes from different points of view, and honestly, coming over here after watching Jeremy's video feels like a whole different experience. Definitely looking into this trip now... maybe not r2r2r but r2r seems about my speed. Rock on Rob! Rock on!
It is so beautiful there! Super cool to see how the trail work gets done. I think you need to freeze the scene at 19:32 and get it put on a canvas! WOW .. Gorgeous.. You are a big thing Rob :)
Great video Rob! Totally love Ribbon Falls...definitely worth the extra hike to see that beast!! Hell yes you are a big deal...so cool you got to meet another subscriber out there! The glow in the dark scorpions are so amazing!! I never knew they did that...always great to learn interesting facts about where you hike! Can’t wait for the continuing video!
It's fun to find a video from someone I actually ran into on the trail! I have to say, when you talked about how cold it was at the north rim with the wind howling in the background, I could still feel it! I'm looking forward to seeing how your very long day 3 went!
@@robpelton Hey Rob where did you get the water bottle holders that are hanging off the front of your backpack straps. I like them and have been trying to find something similar. I have to say I have been watching a lot of videos on the hiking the Grand Canyon in preparation for my trip and yours and the guys in your group have the best ones. Very informative. Thanks.
@@zacharyseybert7557 those bottle holders are made and sold by Justin’s UL. He has Etsy store. Tell him I sent ya. Thanks for the watching and for the support!
Toe socks... When I was a Wildland Firefighter I was prone to blisters.. Watched a TH-cam video one day saw the hiker was wearing toe socks.. Tried them never had a blister since, now toe socks with a wool sock as well.
That was great. I love the Grand Canyon. I mailed a post card from Phantom Ranch and thought I would get a Phantom Ranch post mark--but it was a Phoenix post mark instead. Great job of videoing. I have enough trouble just getting up and down the trails but to video it too is awesome. Thanks.
That is one epic hike! That looks like a challenge of a lifetime! You all look beat! Just sittin on pins and needles over here waitin on that part 2! lol Gorgeous videos and shots u got!
Great trip video!! Can't wait to see the next part. Really neat seeing from each of your perspectives. Crossing my fingers for my permit out there this coming April.
Great video, I really felt you when you asked yourself if you were ready. Ready for that 20 mile hike in the morning. Your answer is more than truthful. Cant wait for part two now dude! And in a month or so I'll be able to watch Brad's video. Lol!!
Late to comment but just wanted to shout out to you enjoyed the trip video so far. I day hiked down and back in 2004 the Bright Angel not quite all the way to the Colorado. Then on a second day did a good portion down and back of the South Kaibab not quite all the way to the Colorado. Couldn’t get back country permits. Totally want to do this hike someday. Question: How come you guys did the 21 miles north Kaibab to bright Angel for the way out? No permit? Looking forward to part 3 for the answer. As well as Jeremys and Miyagi videos of the Trip. Thanks for sharing.
Exactly right. Permits. That caused the bug like day. Nothing we couldn’t handle. If you get there, get there. It’s wonderful. Part 2 will be the conclusion of my trip. Out this Wednesday. 12/9. Thanks for watching.
Nice video,,,I hope whoever it was making a juvenile point of photo bombing standing behind and above you (chicken legs), and picking his nose,,,,wasn’t one of your friends. Loved seeing the falls with some contrasting green against that red rock
Great vlog! In your opinion, when is the best time of year to backpack in for a two night in canyon trip? My wife and I are in the early stages of planning for 2021 or 2022. Thanks!
