Nice . I try and scrap metals when I can . When I wasn't working out of town I use to scrap all the time when I could and had time. It's a great way to make extra money to help pay bills or just save.

advice about steel and scrap in general is keep an eye on market prices it can change everything and shop around for youre price too
i have a yard that buy alluminium 15cent better then other but have shitty price on copper
...with little experience i can have
every yard has his own speciality
i dont mind doing extra 45 min road if i can make 70-80$ more off my load...
and an other thing that i just learn recently is if you bring good amount you can bargain youre price too
you could be suprise what i phone call can result seriously...
anyway keep on buddy good job overther

still good profits! and free trip... i get most of my money from steel lol... and the best things is selling parts to stuff on ebay....yea i hear you with NO time but there is always time...i work a full time 40 hour a week job and as soon as i get out i start my pickups and taking stuff apart..then i try to post 5 items on ebay a day...and yea i take like 2 days off a week from scrapping bc i want to do things with my daughter when i have her but the hustle never stops haha. scrapping is def hard!!

Great stuff! Looking forward to the circuit board video, would love to see how you separate wire types too.

Where do you mainly find your scrap? I agree about chasing vacuum motors- I cut the chord and move on. Congrats on the $$$

Commercial/business dumpsters and Craig's List. Roll off construction dumpsters too. I never did apartment or residential dumpsters. Too filled with gross stuff for me!

different yard different price....i have a special yard that buy motor and transfo for 25 cent ...while most of them buy them for 10 cent...

but i make quit good money with motor ...i calculate that one motor is approx 2$

Crazy the different prices from yard to yard. The Twin Cities is pretty much the same where ever you go. Guess it depends on the scrap yards buyer, at .25 for motors, they must have a good local user.

I would find them both ways, in the outer casing and the small wires loose. I got the CAT5 pricing either way.
