They really do. I have Razorbacks, vellies, and Stockmans that are over 3 years old and it's held up fine. I don't love how the board wicks water so I try to keep the edge waxed during the wet months
Just bought some Numzaans for the office! Good idea having something more formal. My RMs have been killing my feet lately after I’ve started doing barefoot running and sprints and my feet have started to spread. Looking forward to a wider more comfortable fit. Will probably get my RMs relasted at some point too but nice to have the Numzaan lace ups for business casual and the RMs for when I need a suit!
Both fantastic boots and could live happily together in a boot collection. I appreciate the lightness of the polyester board and don't see it as a negative. I like the idea of having the lightness of the polyester board but still standing on a piece of leather. In most cases I could imagine the baobab being an easier boot to wear for long durations of time. The Numzaan does look very pretty though.
I would like both lol but if im gping to be picky id go with the Numzaan. I already have AR8'S for hiking and prefer the 8". So the Numzaam with the frog sole for around town would be nice. Although cleaned up and polished the AR8'S have gotten me quite a few compliments.
I‘m team Numzaan, more leather in the sole construction is always better. Really looking forward to the Jim Green take on the moc toe and I‘m hoping for more 8“ boots. My AR8 is my favourite out of 4 pairs 🐸
Btw I don’t mind the leather board in the „classic“ JG boots, the resole videos have shown that’s it’s quite durable but nothing feels as nice underfoot as a thick slab of leather.
Their polyester board is quality. I've been bashing a pair of stockmans and they take it happily. I'll go custom on my next order, but I'm team Jim Green no matter the model.
Those Numzaans...so nice... I love that the logo is on the tongue rather than the heel. I would have multiple pairs of Vellies and Shoelies were it not for the big logo.
How's the break in? Also how is the fit? I have a pair and they are pretty snug. How much room in front of your toes? Day 3 of a couple hours of wear a day and I'm still on the fence on my fit.
Thanks I own both and love them both! The Walnut of the Numzaan is amazing! I've been wondering what the true differences were besides the pull tab, toe cap, and sole. I do prefer the ranger's last though.
Team both! I am torn on which ones to buy next. I was leaning very heavily towards the Baobab for hiking, so it’s good to know that is what they were designed for. Love that Houston Green color, so I might have to consider a custom pair. Numzaan in natural with the frog grip sole is on my list to buy soon too.
I was in the market to purchase my first real heritage boot. Almost was about to buy some redwings until I looked around for some alternatives and someone mentioned Jim Greens. Finding alternatives in Germany is difficult. I found you just in time for you guys to launch the Numzaan and I pre-ordered the walnut Numzaan as soon as possible and I can't wait to get to me in March!
The Baobab seems pretty versatile, like i could wear it to work but also taking my dog out on walks and to the park. Really wish it also came in black. I might have to get one custom made. I also like that its slightly narrower without the wide toebox. Would it be good for someone who likes a snug fitting boot? Also, my heels are more narrow so i have some concern about that. Thank you!
Got the darker Numzaan with frog sole option last week. My 11th pair of JG boots, and one of my favorites. Super comfortable and great craftsmanship. Have 4 pairs of Rangers and Bushcats also. Love them all on different days, for different reasons. The Numzaans sure are great looking. And that leather is stunning.
@@cwr8618 Looking down, it seems slightly narrower, but not noticable on my feet. Its very little, just enough to look different. My toes are free to move around just like the Rangers. I don't notice any difference in height. I wear a UK size 10, and they are true to size. No need to go up or down for me. I usually wear quite thick Merino wool socks, no problems. Very comfortable, even when new.

Q for Jim Green folks please, When will your leather balm be available in the USA? The AR8 boots, can Jim Green make a pair with an ankle notch in them...? An ankle notch helps the foot flex when wearing tall leather boots. Would the Numzann boot with a lug sole option be good for hiking? I prefer more leather on my feet! Thanks!
i've been wanting a pair of shoes/boots that aren't made in china by children out of plastic and i just ordered a pair of Numzaan boots and i'm excited to get them.
We thrilled to hear that you are excited about your new Numzaan boots @enjayify, thank you for your support. Please send us an update on the fit and feel once you have a chance.
I have a Numzaan with JG lug and like the boot, although I will admit I am more partial to my barefoot green ranger as they are darn comfortable. I will admit, I bought the Numzaan because the Baobab in my size was out of stock and probably would have bought them over the Numzaan because I wanted a hiking boot to replace some older Redwings that I have used for years. But now that I have my Numzaan and finally got it broken in, I love it and actually find it better for hiking when the area is a bit muddy. Where I live we see a lot of freeze, thaw in the winter and often will end up with a shallow mud in spots on hilly trails, which can be very slick and unsteady if leaf covered. The JG lug gives me a more secure footing, which I appreciate. Here is a question. I thought both boots had a steel shank.
I’m in team Razorback. I needed a pair of boots to cut multiple trees on my property and build the fence. Jim Green appears to be an amazing working boots that I enjoy wearing

I think the toe cap would be better for the Baobab, being still thought as a hiker boot, albeit a "formal" hiking boot, you'd still want the extra ruggedness. The Numzaan, on the other hand, would be better without the toe cap as a proper formal boot, and could even eliminate the midsole completely for a less chunky profile.
