- This is a video tour of my studio apartment in Boston. It's located in the Brighton area, which is on the outskirts of Boston. The rent is $1550/month. My mom is an incredibly talented interior designer. She helped me design the apartment. Her website is linked below. Thank you for watching!

I absolutely ADORE your little crib! What it lacks in space, it makes up for in cuteness and style. It's like a little jewel box.

You and your Mom did a great job. You’ve made a cozy home that is all yours. Very nicely decorated. Taking the doors off the kitchen cabinets opens up the kitchen and makes it appear more spacious. Thanks for sharing.

I think my friend lived in this apartment in the '70's, or one just like it !! I used to live where Brigham Hospital is now. Boston is great. Your apartment is so homey; i'll bet you love it !!

So cute! The only thing i'd change is the hall, it looks cluttered. A slim dresser with the cats bed under would be great. The Ikea slimline shoe storer is a favourite in the UK in tiny homes. Not just for shoes !

Love your dish drainer, very cute. You've got a great apartment with everything carefully thought out, good use of space. Having cats myself I suggest that you put the cat scratcher on the floor. My cats love them and I'm sure if your kitty gives it a try it will be a hit except that once they get going it's very messy.

That's a very pretty space - it feels very calming and serene - your mom IS talented! I'll have to check out her site. I just moved into a studio apartment and am looking for design, layout and decorating ideas. Thank you for this. Wowwy look at those wide window sills. So nice. (you have a closet....!)

Great job, very imaginative! Your dish drainer is very artsy! I echo the comment below that the cat's food and water dishes should be relocated away from the litter box (or the litter box should be relocated).

Invest in a really good sofa bed. That way you'll have a living room and a bedroom.
I was thinking if you moved stuff around you could fit a small sofa. It's still really nice for small space.

I was surfing small spaces and found this. I swear it looks like half of a 1 BR I lived in in Brighton in 1990! Nice job with the space.
Very nice apartment. I lived in Boston some years ago and learned quickly how to utilized space. I’m guessing you live near either Back Bay or Brighton. Your place is more like a small one bedroom. True studios have one main room save the bathroom...like a hotel room. My final apartment was a studio in Roslindale after I “graduated” financially from having roommates in downtown and Newton. It was one big room with a large bathroom. One side was the kitchen, the middle was my table/TV/fish tank, and the other side my bed and dresser. I had several closets, a balcony, and big windows. Perfect for me and my small dog (park was a two minute walk)....neighborhood was tree lined and silent!!! And it was only $575.00 a month!!!! Of course it was 1999 at the time, but even then the same size downtown was twice as much.
It's very nicely decorated and homey. The cat seems happy too. The art is attractive. My favorites are the elephant and the poster board with the greeting cards. I might try that idea.
This is quite lovely. Your mom did a great job. As long as you are safe and happy that's all that matters, and your cat is beautiful...lol. Thanks for sharing

Love your place so cozy...I would love to open my kitchen cabinets as well but I have 3 cats and the amount of cat hair is insane ....we sweep and vaqum multiple times a day....lol and I'm allergic to cats..❤️💖👏🙌👍

In a tiny apt having a window in the kitchen and bathroom is awesome!! A little cozy when entertaining...I might have gone with one of those cool Murphy beds that have a table/desk that folds away...

Love the clawfoot tub, the enclosed galley kitchen.....but.....in such a small room, that BED turns it into a TINY BEDROOM. I would think a Murphy Bed, Daybed, sofa bed, loft bed, or even a quality Rollaway [they make the 4ft wide ones now] tucked behind a screen would have been a better choice. However, YOU are the one living there, so you are the one who neads 2B happy with it. Adorable kitty 😺😊

apologies if this is strange but that is the same building i used to live in! i would recognize that layout and kitchen/bathroom anywhere. i was in a 2 room unit that just had an extra bedroom/living room. i have since moved but am still in Boston and have fond memories of that building and neighborhood. thanks for sharing, your apartment is 10x cuter than mine was!
Yes Lindsay...you definitely should not overwhelm a small space with so much stuff like you said....& I like that storage cart you added to the kitchen = more counter space!!
Completely forgot you live in a studio by the time you got to your main living area. Great use of space!
I know yr place is small but the cat food should not be that close to the cat toilet x
I was thinking either the litter box or food and water on the bottom shelf of the bookcase, although - cat box 12x15x19
@@nancyjohnson5483 As a rule of thumb, if at all possible, don't place her litter box and food dish in the same room. If you're short on space and have to place them in the same vicinity, place the litter box in one corner of the room and set the food dish in the corner that's farthest away from the litter box. x Your place is lovely by the way and your kitty too x x
I would keep the litter box in the bathtub, and the food/water dishes in the kitchen, on the floor under the window, or where the litterbox currently is.
@@e.d.h5533 I was thinking that, but -- apparently the cat has gotten used to it. Sometimes they won't eat food that is close to the litter box, but, she'd know by now if that was the case.

Put catnip on the scratcher and lay it on the floor. Catnip is activated by water. Cute place!
yes my cats won't use them hanging up either strictly on the floor for the scratchers! :)

Amazing. I could make that work except I would need room for my piano. And a little more closet space. I love it.
The bookcase is nice but it really blocks the flow in the hallway and makes it feel smaller and cluttered. I'd leave the hallway open or have a very small table off to the side.

Cute, get yourself a small regulation lamp at the thrift store and buy a battery powered lightbulb for your nightstand. No outlet needed

I have two cats and I would never put their food next to the litter boxes. For your cat, can’t you move his food away from his litter?

Very cute and well organized apartment. Its light and airy with all the windows and looks very calming and relaxing. The wooden cupboard directly over the stove is concerning to me as it looks like a fire code violation. Overall I could definitely live there.

That little plastic shelf with the candle, my ex burnt or house down that way, that exact shelf. The shelf gets soft fast, candle falls, igniting the wax, the floor and curtains. I woke up in it. Never put candles on those shelves. Throw away plastic shelves.
