@@katrina.l wow you have a lovely bed. And I like your apartment it is very nice and comfortable. Even though its small. I hope you settled in very quickly when you first moved in. Have a great day.

😊Popped over to see how your studio apt looked "before"👌. Still lovely. Cool little place👍. 😉Fun to see your dressing area styled as a WIC👗, & also your bed facing the other wall (toward the small sofa 🛋). Like the newer 🛏 orientation & having the trunk at the foot of the bed better. It really opens up the space. Plus, now you can lay in bed 🛌 & enjoy the view outside the windows 🪟 & also the TV📺 more. Well done! BTW, like how you decanted your dry goods in IKEA jars & baskets. 🤔You must have a step stool to access the stuff over the kitchen window & fridge. 🤍Do love an open pantry with pretty apothecary jars, but living in earthquake prone LA, I know how everything on shelves can become a dangerous projectile in a shake-up. (Good idea to have a pair of shoes👟 or flip-flops🩴right under your bed to protect your feet in the event of one. 😖In the last big one we had here in the early 90s, between my old bed & kitchen door my path had became strewn with stuff. 🔌The power went off too, & it was pitch dark inside & outside. Good thing I sat up bcos everything on the shelf above landed on my pillow too. I had to walk very gingerly while holding my Sheltie. Managed to clobber myself into open cabinets, the refrigerator, & room doors along the way😳. 😬Maybe consider getting a long black bungee cord (& cup hooks) to hold the contents of that high upper shelf intact like they do on RVs (when they're moving). 🤗Food for thought... 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

Hi Katrina, you have done a wonderful job with your tiny apartment. Have you ever thought of putting up a shelf in the bathroom underneath the bathroom mirror? It would give you more space to put things and even plants. To brighten your bathroom, I would suggest buying white towels or even light pink or any color would make the bathroom pop with color. You can start with new towels and a bath rug. You will see the difference. Blessings.
thank you! there is some storage behind the mirror I didn't show :) think I"m too tall for a shelf there, I already have trouble washing my face in that sink haha
I think it is great that you are having an adventure and have nice little place to come home. I had a tiny apartment with a little patio in San Clemente, CA with an ocean view and I just didn't buy useless stuff, tossed my trash daily, and enjoyed it!
Elevated twin bed to free up space? Very homey and cozy. You live well in this tiny space.Bent shower rod brings curtain out of way, pop for nice towels, matching curtains and washable floor rug tiles. Oooh big fat fluffy hanging boston fern.
Katrina, you ABSOLUTELY need to submit your space for the Apartment Therapy Small Cool contest next year. It has already closed for 2022. I am shocked at how large your space feels for 300 sq ft. Love the print of your old home.
Very cute. You could make the bathroom cute by putting up some peal an stick wall paper. Also I would consider switching the desk either with the mirror in the closet or with your grandmother 's trunk. Especially if you switched it with the mirror it would open up your living/ bedroom area and get your work area away from your bed.
thanks, I've thought about moving the desk in there and making a little office but I worry there won't be enough light. Might be something I do in the future though :)
Very cute & cozy I wouldn't change a thing in the living area for the bathroom maybe a peel and stick paper on the cabinet just to give it a different look and you can rotate the color of the rugs and the towels maybe just 2 or 3 sets not to many because you have to store them.
thank you! I've thought about doing peel and stick on the cabinet before but worried the moisture might take it off, but probably better than that terrible off white colour lol
I love watching studio apartment tours of real people with real stuff. If I see another make-up collection or white plastic furniture from Target I`m going to scream. lol. great from Vancouver, i lived in Vancouver for 44 years and retired in June we have a house with a great back yard and we had l"Atelier and this is only $1000. a month. This is the wonderful retiring life...........thanks for your grateful truth......
Cool that you're also in Vancouver. I'm in a studio too, but a 500 sq ft laneway. I really like the chairs you have at your counter and the counters are also really nice. I think your landlords did a good job of the kitchen reno (except for not replacing the stove or getting it refurbished). I like the glass jars with the Dymo labels. I also use those white rectangular bins from IKEA in my kitchen. You have a lot of windows (and facing different directions) so you get a lot of natural light. When I lived on the garden level of a 100 year old house there was next to no actual light because the only windows faced the next door houses (mere feet away). My big question for you is why you have a stand-alone bed and a loveseat in such a small space, rather than a good sofa bed. That's what I have and it makes all the difference. You fold it up in the morning and you have floor space. Your living area never looks like a bedroom during the day. It's just way more efficient. And I wanted to ask what type of dog you have. Mine is a poodle, who was supposed to be a toy and grew into a small miniature. Did you have trouble finding a place that would accept pets?
thank you! personally, I don't mind having the bed there all day. I know myself and know I wouldn't ever fold a sofa bed up! I found this place through a friend so I haven't had trouble renting with my dog though I know it can be a big challenge here 🙁 I love poodles, your dog sounds cute! mine's a frenchie/boston terrier 😊

What a beautiful apartment 🌺 I just saw the part where you talked about your bathroom. If you go on Amazon there's these peel and stick hooks that hold up to like 5 pound's or something. You can buy some and hang some plants from the higher part of the bathroom ceiling by the window. The plants will get sun plus it will look so nice if you get some trailing plants like the pothos you have. Also a full length mirror will reflect light, making it feel Bigger. Ikea has some good basic mirrors you just hang on the back of the door or by the sink.
Very nice tour - though I was wondering what you stored in the drawers on the "living room" side of the kitchen divider. It's a really cute space, though I have to agree that the bathroom isn't great. If I owned the place I'd open up the space beside the toilet to the storage space behind your closet - or just take that wall out entirely since you have the binus room for clothing storage. But one thing you COULD do is get peel and stick tiles for around the sink. Also, one idea to replace the "too big" IKEA desk chair is to get one of those desk stools that you kneel on. They are small, it would tuck in under your desk, and it's great for your back because you can't slouch. Though if you sit in it for long periods make sure to get a high quality one with good padding where your knees rest, and not too rough or nubby fabric. Although I think that is ridiculous rent to pay for such a small space, as you say you were lucky to find it. I can't imagine how anyone affords living in Vancouver!
Contact paper will change your bathrooms life! You can make it what you want in a renter friendly way. A gallery wall and some plants hanging off the wall using brackets (since the ceiling is so tall) can help, too!
Some light-colored wallpaper could help make the bathroom feel more fun....meanwhile, your studio is not over designed...so it looks nice and cozy...my current apt is 390 sq ft..so, I know the challenge all too well :)
a friend lived here before me and I asked him to give the landlord my contact info when he was leaving, they ended up needing to do a bunch of work and remodelled it before I moved in. so I got very lucky. 😊 I think letting people you know you're looking for a place is helpful so they can give you a heads up if they hear of anything (or if they are leaving their place)
I lucked across your channel and love your space. I'm an International School Librarian for my everyday job, but at my core, I'm a frustrated Interior Decorator 🤣...Here lately I've been really embracing the Tiny Home Movement and have enjoyed seeing how people have created living spaces that really covers all their needs. I also came across a few TH-cam Channels where they're providing renter friendly ways one can update their spaces and places. There's a couple channels that showed how contact paper could be used to add color and style, while covering up things you'd rather not see. And, should you move on to another place, the paper comes off with little effort and residue.
I really love how you decorated with this kinda boho flair. And the kitchen with this 'bar' and the stools is honestly really cool. But you might benefit from some decluttering (don't wanna sound rude, I have way too much stuff too!). It's just that I watch a lot of minimalism and declutter videos lately and especially in small spaces it can make a big difference. But I also don't know how much stuff you need for your small business, I watch a lot of those videos too and you just have to have a stock of prints and stuff at home 😂anyways, as I said I still enjoyed it, your studio turned out great.
thanks! and yes you're probably right, I love a good decluttering video as well. I got rid of a lot of stuff when I moved in but it's kind of grown again and a lot of it has a purpose so I've just come to terms with the fact I'll never have a minimalist style 😂
@@katrina.l yes I know the feeling too well😂but I might get my first apartment next year so I want to downsize (I'm only 21 and have so much stuff already🙄) and even try to do a no-buy. But even if I fail, I'll still watch declutter videos, they're just too addicting :D
