Guys, is it possible to connect two M-wave controllers to the computer via USB ports and use them with DAW having a total of 8 programmable buttons? I was wondering if, instead of buying, for example, Harley Benton MP-100 (which has 8 buttons and 2 slots for expression pedals), you could buy two m-wave models. I will be glad for your opinion :) 😀
Thanks for sharing your set up and the context for how you’re using the chocolate midi device. I enjoyed your nice playing examples , demonstrating use. thank you again for the great video and tutorial. I’m looking forward to getting one.🎉
New to the midi world, presently own Helix, HX effects and the Valeton GP 200. Got the wireless connectors to so really looking forward to using this live
I have the Chocolate. Like it a lot. However, I've since discovered that it sends the MIDI command on release and not on press. This makes it unusable for controlling a looper (I want to use it for looping with my HX Stomp). Have you found a way to get it to send MIDI commands on "press" of the switch?
I have other, different problems with Chocolate, but I did figure this out. In the Cube suite software, choose TRS-MIDI, choose Advanced Custom Mode, choose Mode: Press down - release (Two sets of information). Then in the two boxes (A Bank and B Bank) I have a note on in A and a note off in B. Example- A currently reads "[1] 1 Note ON 0 1" and B currently reads "[1] 1 Note OFF 0 1". I don't completely understand it but I am getting a note as soon as I hit the switch and a note off immediately after so it doesn't hang. Hope that's helpful. My problem is that I can;t get the bluetooth working nohow noway, but the USB is working quite well so heigh ho.
After see you video I bought the Chocolate but it doesn't connect with the WIDI Jack CME to control de Headrush MX-5. Have you tried it ? Could you please write the name of the BT receiver you are using ? Thank you !
Thanks for the video. I'm looking for more info details. A link to a manual would be great. I need to know if it can be set to transmit Midi Note Numbers to control a Drum Machine VST....?
Not that I know. It’s pretty basic and for 50 bucks, you get what you pay for. All the info is in the app (very limited). For greater control there are superior midi pedals out there.
Hi hows the MVAVE holding up.. Im looking at one to control Ableton LIVE but how robust is it? Chinese hard ware can be brilliant or rubbish as we al know..
hello sir... im having an issue on my zoom MS7CDR m-vave chocolate bt wireless midi controller set up the bluetooth connecting but not working on slave device any advice on this?
Can it control either stop boxes while gig bored is in rig mode Like if I want to change rigs with headrush switches and turn on and of fx on the mvave
I got one and the dongle, and got it all working. But the BT range is a bit of problem. I get only about 2 metres reliably. Think the metal case of the pedal could be an issue with range. Also wish it had LEDs on each switch so you know whats on in toggle mode.
@@thepedalpicassos they could do something in firmware to simulate leds using the current display, just to give some visual indication. That would be a nice update. Still, its amazing value. 👍
This pedal is perfect for my portable setup with Loopy Pro but only in wired mode, in wireless-bluetooth-mode its always disconnect and I don’t know how to fix this issue :(
Hey Picasso’s! I have this setup as well to augment my hxstomp. Is there a way to program the pedal out to use one of the foot switches as a channel switch for an actual amp? (Running a cable from the pedal to the footswitch Jack on an amp? Cheers!
Hi Mate! You should be able to assign a switch on the chocolate to control an amp that has midi learning capacity. The pedal jack on the chocolate is for expression in or midi out. I don't think you can use it as a TRS switch for changing amp channels though....
Hi! I just got the M-Vave and can't get it to talk to my Headrush MX-5. 🥲I can't get it to pair with my Bluetooth adapter, but what I was really interested in is using a wired TRS cable so avoid Bluetooth issues. Have you tried the TRS MIDI Connection? Could you show which MIDI settings you used in the cube suite app? I'm using Firmware 2.6 on my MX-5 but I don't think that should be an issue. Thank you!
@@thepedalpicassos I just figured it out! There is a left and right arrow to the left of the pedal jack icon on the iOS app. Click the arrows to change the pedal jack function from expression pedal input to TRS MIDI output! I'll be posting a detailed instructions on my TH-cam channel soon.
@@TheXIT do it please. I'm considering buying it. I want to connect it via USB cable to a M1 apple mini and be able to change program on Amplitube 5. I will also attach an m-audio expression pedal to it (or directly like now on my AXE audio interface). But I'm not sure if all will work on M1. It's not to me clear the bluetooth dongle as an add on for the unit in the online shopping. Do I need it for what? Without that it works only via usb cable or TRS? I'm pretty confused.
Interesting. Are you programming the Chocolate device itself? Or are you programming a phone, which then sends commands? I’m wondering if this could be used in conjunction with the AirStep KAT, to do some of the functions that device does not do. Such as switching to the ‘Bright’ variation of the amp type you’ve chosen, or perhaps functioning as a Solo switch.
Hi I try to connect opening Cube Suite in Mac and I get "Waiting for device to connect" and nothing more. I already paired the footcontroller with the Mac m1. Any ideas how to solve it?
Can I use it wired? I want to use it to control a chase bliss pedal to select presets. Not comfortable with wireless, can it be used wired to the pedal.
Are you demoing the M-VAVE, or bragging about your setup? Talked more about your tone for the first 5 minutes than the device. And then there's the last minute of pure showing off.

Do you have a video how to setup tne wireless midi with gigboard? Tnx

Can you use 2 M-VAVE's simultaneously to make it 8 footswitches?
Good question! I have no idea!!!
I'm using mine to control DAW plugins.
The USB-C out works for that. 👍

great review! can you use this controlller with a good old midi cable?
Unfortunately not. You can use a trs to midi cable though. The 1/4” jack is midi out or expression pedal.

I’m sorry. I have only tried the MS50G. I cannot confirm the same is achievable on the MS7CDR
Just asking for what purpose is that thing? Don't have any idea

Good job !!!!
In theory could it control more than one midi device?. I'm thinking of a midi rack preamp and midi rack fx unit. Thanks
It could. If each device has a midi ‘thru’ so you can connect one to the other in a daisy chain. Then you set each device on a diff midi channel.
do you have any idea if it can change the presets of Alexander Color pedal ? thank you very much indeed
The Alexander is midi capable, so in theory, you should be able to assign functions to the Chocolate.

You set the Chocolate via the phone app. It’s limited but handy for a basic setup.

Can I use it wired? I want to use it to control a chase bliss pedal to select presets. Not comfortable with wireless, can it be used wired to the pedal.
Yes. I understand the 1/8” jack in/out can be expression pedal in or midi out.
Will it pair with an iPad without the dongle? Not to program it, but to use the pedal to control a track app which uses midi notes.
I can’t see why not. It instantly pairs with an iPhone to program it from the app. It should connect to any Bluetooth device.
Hello sir, can i ask why you don't have a receiver? Or is it already connected to your head rush
Hi there! Yes, the midi receiver is connected to the HeadRush. So if that wasn’t clear.
@@thepedalpicassos thank u for the response
is this compatible with boss katana mkII
I’m sure you could activate some midi changes but I haven’t tried…..yet!
I also am looking for a pedal to do programming changes only for the katana mk2
does this work with windows?
I used the iPhone app. There is an android version also.
Does it come with a dongle?
nope, you need to buy separately the wireless midi interface. But it's 100% worth it, around $15

Thanks Chris! I’m pretty sure I was just chuffed with how technology has given me a solution to remotely control my HeadRush.
