I would say a Basic Rider Course that's MSF certified would be a good idea, You'll have fun , build confidence and learn a lot of valuable street survival skills which will also get you your M endorsement on your licence.
That is definitely the plan! It will be great to learn all of those skills. I just need to wait until the baby is a little older first. Thanks for the support!!
@@JackiesMotoGarage Good move not going down the curb. Get used to it first. On bikes like that you will need to learn not to lean on your hands. It takes a while but your body core should keep the weight on your hands neutral. Time for that later, basics first!
Awesome job. Yeah, no need to be scared. I did the MSF course on a grom, passed, next week bought a 1200cc Triumph Speed Twin. Just get out of your head, and learn to enjoy it.

Hey Jackie! New subscriber here AND still a new rider. I like how you're going at a pace that's comfortable for you. It's great that Jon doesn't push you or make you feel uncomfortable as well. Can't wait to see you rippin' around on one of the 2,874 bikes you guys have! Lol. Good luck and ride safe!
Hi Jackie! New sub and new rider here! Congrats on the new bike, it really is beautiful. I own a 2018 Vulcan S and i really love that bike but I was also checking out a Triumph Street Twin as a second bike. I have to get really comfortable on the Vulcan first, because with a 28 inch inseam I am not flat footed on the Triumph and having confidence makes all the difference. Looking forward to follow you on your journey. Keep up the good work and stay safe!
I have been riding a Vulcan S around and absolutely LOVE it. I think you made a great choice. Definitely a good idea to ride what you're comfortable on for now. That's why I'm still trying to work my way up to the Triumph. Ride safe! Glad you're here!!
Jackie remember to turn you head and look where you want to go your shoulders will turn and the bike will follow !! keep up the good work you got this !!!
Thank you for sharing and keep it up. You'll have it down packed in no time. When I first started riding, it was on a Honda moped then I moved up to a Honda Rebel 250 then the scariest bike at that point to me was the Gixxer 750. But boy did I have fun learning and riding. Of course now it's been about 16 years since I last got on a bike and I am ready to get back on the saddle again, as it were. The Triumph is a beautiful bike but for some it wouldn't be considered a good starter bike. But I've seen people start on a Hayabusa and depending on how you feel about it, you'll do great no matter what bike you start on. Thank you again for sharing and keep up the great work.
Thank you for your encouragement and kinds words! It's just going to take lots of practice on my part!! I need to definitely find what I'm most comfortable on right now. Thanks for checking out my video!
Great job! After my first year of riding last year I started branching out and going to some demo days to ride different bikes. At first I was so nervous riding bikes with more power because I didn’t know what to expect from the throttle, down shifting, engine breaking etc. but then it clicked that I am in Control of the throttle and how fast I go. Once you take a breath and rely on technique it makes life easier!
This brought me back to when i first ride my bike. I was so nervous dropping it and would go slow lol. Keep up the practice on the the other bikes and you’ll be doing flips and wheelies like John in no time. 👍

Keep up the good work! You'll get there soon enough. I've seen a few reviews that mentioned the kickstand to be a nuisance on the Thruxton. Have you experienced that? Scariest ride for me was a 3 wheeler ATV during my childhood. It caused multiple broken bones!
about this particular video and this particular bike. those wrists don´t hurt because you would be tense, in this riding position, when you lean on your hands the wrists simply hurt. this position counts on the speed + wind which should help reliev your wrists... it is very nice you not pushing anything, great attitude !
I used to have triumph bonnevile 34tkm, i modified it as a thruxton at one point and after short while i put the original bonneville bars back. the bike itself is absolutely gorgeus, the engine is gorgeus, but if i found out one thing about riding my bike, i do not like when it hurts ;-), and those bars hurt ;-(, but it was cool looking ;-D. i do not think it is beginer bike though. looking forward to another thurxton experience ;-). www.motorkari.cz/motorka/?mid=57339&act=denik-motorky&scr=306
You know what's weird? Here in FL, we have green grass for lawns. I've never seen gravel for front lawns. But then again, I've always lived on the east coast.

You're smart not to leave you comfort zone unless you plan on racing (then if you don't, you'll never win the race). You keep deciding when and what you will do on the bike. Don't let anyone talk into doing something you don't want to.
Great job Jackie. Stick with it. You will get more comfortable and confident with practice. By this time next year you will be riding wheelies next to your hubby .. haha 😆
Great... now I want ANOTHER bike lol. But really tho I was glad to see that u fit this bike very well (doesn't look too big/small for u) and that's cool cause I'm about the same size as u. For a while I wasnt sure how I'd look on a cafe style bike, but u look great so why not I :)
I’ve always called it “swallowing fear”. You’re doing great 👍 steps forward Knowing your limitations, try to relax, take your time, at your pace. Anybody critical needs to jump off the mike. I didn’t go slow on my first bike and broke bones as I learned. The broken bones remind me now that I’m older to go easy at first in any new bike. Right now, I’m in between bikes, healing from serious injury (non-motorcycle related). The next bike will start the adventure all over again as I ride towards AARP ✌️
I hope you heal fast!! Sorry to hear that you were injured. Thank you for your encouragement! I appreciate your kind words. I will remember that I don't need to push myself.
Courage has nothing to do with not being afraid. Being courageous is about pushing the fear aside, knowing there’s better things than fear waiting for you
The problem with that Thruxton for u is the handle bars. Who ever had it before you has turned handlebars upside down make a bit like early ones with clipons. Up the correct way would make a huge difference to your reach and be much more upright riding position. That's why they stopped making them with clipons for a more comfortable ride for Joe Bloggs.

@@JackiesMotoGarage Yeah, you just need to find that space in your head where you can relax. Things will be done quicker and smoother if you can do that
You cannot use your feet as learner wheels. Its a two wheel vehicle that needs a certain velocity to keep it upright. Maybe you need a mid size cruiser, not a sports bike with clip on bars. My wife found it easier to ride a low seat Harley than our Triumph Sprint or Zx14R. Also going real slow is harder.
