I have a 2019 sportster. It is a iron 1200. It is set up similar to this one. The biggest difference is that I have a fairing and hand guards on mine. You really need it for the cold Virginia weather. Like you said, it is super comfortable set up like that. I ride it on a 120 mile round trip commute 3 days a week. I plan to ride it down to my parents house this summer. They live about 230 miles away from me.
Greetings from Barcelona. I started riding like 3 or 4 years ago on a Chinese 125cc scrambler bike and now I've had a 1200 Iron for almost a year, and I feel like this big jump in "CCs" interfered with the learning curve I was on with my 125 just because the Harley is a bit intimidating in every aspect. The good thing is the potential we have to learn to get comfortable with these bikes. Jon is the greatest example out there (and I don't even know how to wheelie a bicycle)...😂
Your doing great. The more you ride the easier taking off will become natural. You won't even think about it. I remember when you first started and how many times you stalled the bike.
Welcome back. You're out of practice, but you can still see a difference between now and back in the day with your throttle and clutch control.
