    Saw this video and I’m blown away by these clones. Checked out your info and saw where you are. Hoping you and your loved ones are staying safe.

      These channel strips are not clones. They are SSL X Logic super analog units.

    • @bobbyhofermusic

      wait, maybe these are clones. The ssl super analog channel strips were white.

    SSL stopped making the channel strip but based on the comments here they should start making them again.

      Btw, how do you describe the SSL E sound? Thanks

    • @Recording_Daily
      @Recording_Daily  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ronaldirawan3643 The magic starts when line in starts to distort slightly. This also applies to the equalizer. The sound path is filtered, which allows saturation not to sound harsh. EQ curves sound very musical and natural, even with high band gain. And in general the 242 equalizer is something phenomenal, classical and intuitive. Dynamics section, compressor is suitable for many situations, especially good for kick and snare. Gate is fantastic. Cheers!

    I know it was a quick mock up but sounded a little harsh to me. It could be the sound of the high hats. They have are a bit harsh. I’m sure after some time it would all get dialed in. Really cool. Sounds great.

  • @TheSteveKinney

    there was a missed opportunity to rack them 90 degrees and have the typography be 90 degrees as well. sure.. it would require custom racks, but... still. would have been sick. ..
    sounds great!

    did you go all 1 board or do cards like on the console? which revision preamp did you choose? did you use the original dynamics chip or use the modern workaround?

    • @Recording_Daily
      @Recording_Daily  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi! In this video all channels are separately as 19" rack 1U size. I already made new revision as channel cards and mounted them on the table as console-ish. preamp is transformerless 149 card clone. Dynamics chips are THAT 2150A and THAT 2252

      @@Recording_Daily im sorry, i meant did you do the channels as 1 pcb or did you do daughterboards like on the console's channels.

    • @Recording_Daily
      @Recording_Daily  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@reverendcarter i'm sorry i misunderstood. Yes, all electronics, power supply and cards are one main board. And a small pcb on top for potentiometers and compressor controls

      @@Recording_Daily if you ever decide to post the board schematics im sure everyone on GroupDIY would love to tear into some of these. im surprised SSL hasnt wisened up and sold one of their own yet.

      Hi, this setup used 16 external FX loops from RME ufx and ADI8 interfaces. All analog channels doing as plugins in inserts and summing in Cubase
