    Wish they had added page turn buttons. I'm spoiled by them on the Oasis.🧐🧐

      too big device. For some it would be to close, balancing not as good. Plus, there is so much more text on the page, that you dont turn pages that frequently.

      I would prefer they just have Bluetooth functionality so you can use like a Bluetooth mouse or keyboard to turn pages.

      Not really, just have two buttons along the lower middle of the device where the vast majority of people hold onto when reading a larger tablet.

      @@balcerzaqsome people read fast and no page turn button is a huge difference.
      Also I like to scan down right side of page with my finger as I read because it helps with eye focus and maintaining high reading speed. Accidental page turns are really annoying and button helps avoid that

    wow over 10 inch and 300 ppi one of the first devices that have that on that screen size, this is the new go to Manga Reader device and I'll grab it for exactly that. Amazing.

      Updates? How are you liking it for manga? This is the main reason why I’m thinking of getting this, I read a lot of manga on my oasis but this new size is so tempting and the tones look much sharper!!

    Bummer that the Scribe isn't waterproof. But I would just mainly want it for the larger screen.

    The Oasis is one of the only two devices that I've owned that gave me Battery anxiety. Meaning, that i hated being able to watch the battery just drain while using it. The latest Paperwhite is so much better.

    00:06 📏 Kindle Scribe has a significantly larger 10.2-inch screen compared to the 7-inch screen on the Kindle Oasis.
    01:58 🔄 Kindle Scribe features an animated page-turning effect, not available on the Oasis.
    02:28 📘 Kindle Scribe's larger screen is advantageous for reading comics and PDFs, offering better layout and readability.
    03:23 🖊 Kindle Scribe includes stylus pen support and the ability to write directly on PDFs, which sets it apart from the Oasis.
    04:32 📝 Kindle Scribe offers a notebook feature for creating various types of notebooks, unlike the Oasis.
    05:32 📱 Kindle Scribe's interface is mostly similar to the Oasis, with additional tabs for notebooks and more.
    05:57 💡 Both Kindle Scribe and Oasis offer dark mode, adjustable front light, and auto brightness sensor, with minor differences in screen texture and waterproofing.
    06:47 🛑 Kindle Scribe lacks physical page buttons and waterproofing, distinguishing it from the Oasis.

    Great review. I wonder: why has Amazon made so strange, unbalanced margins? Top/bottom are smaller then left/right. There is no two-column mode. Content window is too small and it has only 12 lines vs 8 lines in Oasis, etc. It seems they just didn`t know what to do with large space. Nevertherless Kindle Scribe looks promising device with uncovered potential.

    What makes Scribe a unique Kindle is its note-taking features. Ironically, that aspect of Scribe is really unfinished, making the Scribe basically just a large size Kindle, which in itself isn’t all that appealing really in terms of portability.

      I recently upgraded to the Scribe from my Oasis, and honesty, I'm still torn on whether or not I'm going to keep it. The larger screen is amazing for reading, you don't have to turn the pages nearly as much, but the Scribe is HEAVY when compared to the Oasis, and not as easily portable. You cannot comfortably hold the Scribe in one hand for any extended period of time. I guess it really all depends on how and where you read. If you mainly hold the device vs using a case with a stand, this is NOT the Kindle for you. I have a feeling mine is going back.

    I now have both devices. I already owned the Oasis, and I recently received my Kindle Scribe, which I ordered during the Prime Days. I love both of them! The Scribe is excellent for reading extensive amounts of text comfortably in bed, while eating something, or simply while sitting on a chair with the device placed on the table. Additionally, I use it for my studies, scribbling with the pen and writing on PDFs. On the other hand, the Oasis is perfect for reading for long periods of time while holding it in your hand. I wish it were possible to deactivate the screen on the Scribe and use a swiping motion to switch pages, similar to the Paperwhite. But they didn't implement that feature for some reason. Or I'm just too stupid to find it.

    • @ArianeQube
      @ArianeQube ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have both, I'd say no. It's far too large, the row of text is long enough that you move your eyes too much left to right. Also heavy and cumbersome to hold for hours. If you just want to read ebooks, get the oasis or kobo libra 2 / sage.

      I've been using other 10" ereaders going back almost 5 years so they're not new to me, but I rarely take them out of the house because a smaller device is much easier to slip into a pocket, but the large models are nice for reading at home and they're much better for stuff like PDFs and comics.

    • @carlosa.sencion6516
      @carlosa.sencion6516 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Only for reading (mostly complex) PDFs, otherwise it's too big and not very practical as an e-reader... it's essentially an e-ink iPad. Look for a Kindle Oasis or a Kindle Paperwhite 11th gen., they are better as a main e-reader. The screen quality is better on the Oasis than on the Scribe, more definition, sharpness, reading is a pleasure there.

    I have a dumb question. Why are you highlighting text in books?

    • @Amarand
      @Amarand 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When you're reading a book, highlighting can help you to remember key points, like if you're studying. You hit it with a highlighter, and then keep reading. Later on, you can come back and re-read/study key points, or things you feel you may not understand entirely. Highlighting is a huge thing for some people. Also, when people are reviewing books, they might want to highlight certain quotes or passages for later inclusion into a review. So...loads of reasons.
