A big fault with the current Kindle software is not being able to actually remove a book from the home page back to the library, and not have it showing on the home page. This can be done on the Kindle App for the iPhone & iPad. I don't like all the clutter of books I have purchased but not read on the home page screens of my actual Kindle and Scribe.
Oh, I wanted to use it to mainly take notes on the fiction books I read, but, since that is only available in a few select books, there is no point. Thank you for the review!
Thanks for clarifying a few features in detail for me ahead of getting mine tomorrow. I opted for the Black Leather Magnetic Case and Pro Pen and 64gb model so i never run out of space at all.
Thank you ..your review is thorough ..and very useful.. I wanted more information…and have an older kindle to trade . The kindle scribe is exciting and exactly what I desired ..really desired ! ..so order goes in today !
Fantastic review. Thank you. I was debating with myself between the Scribe and the Remarkable 2, and based on this review, I think that the Scribe seems like the way to go for my usages. I tried the Remarkable at a store, and it's really nice, but I do read a lot, and the Scribe seems to be a better option to replace my PaperWhite.
Great review! Three questions: 1.) does Scribe have a stick-it note feature? 2.) does it have a copy/paste feature to paste to a completely separate document? 3.) can you create graphs on a document?
Thanks for the video. A great overview and the 20% trade made it much easier for me to press the buy button! I've been looking at one of these to replace my Kindle Voyager for a while, but wasn't sure it was worth the ~£350 RRP. Amazon had a limited time deal for £259 (16GB) which was tempting me, but your video got me to search for the trade-in offer. I've traded in my partners old Kindle (she can have my Voyager) for £10 and then saved 20% off the already discounted price, so decided to bump up to the 32GB model for £213.99!
I want for strictly note taking. But moving from my many note books I would like to see the ability for e-ink to meta tag so that I can search terms yrs down the road. What I heard you say is that there is folder & sub folders. Is there any further file management in the meta tag way?
Hello. my daughter has a kindle scribe and iwant to get one too. Do you know that f we share the same amazon account our notes will also be shared? I know the books will be shared but I do not know about the notes. Thanks
Hi! The notes won’t be shared between different Scribes even with the same Amazon account as the notes are saved locally on the device, hope that helps!
May I ask why if it is possible to duplicate the screen on a TV, so you can show your sketches to an audience in real time ? In my field, I get clients everyday that need drawings to understand the (somewhat intricated) explanations I must give them. And since no clients are alike, I can’t just have a generic PowerPoint ready for these situations. Plus, drawings are a good way to keep the clients focused. So, if this were a possibility, I would definitely be interested. Thanks for the help.
It´s an amazing device and the best e reader I've owned, but it is extremely fragile. One accidental drop and the screen is gone. Amazon refuses to repair it even if you pay for it. I am back to my Paperrwhite 2013, which has suffered many falls and it´s still working as if it was still 2013. The problem is now the screen looks miniscule, I am thinking on buying a Inkpad Lite. No more kindles for me, terrible customer service.
I'm a driving instructor and would like to make notes, I guess this is going to make my life easier when seeing multiple pupils per day? Also, does anyone know if I could import say a driving test report from Internet and then make notes on it?
Hi and thanks for the video. I have a question about one very specific circumstance. I often receive emails from people asking me to mark up the content or if it is ok, to sign the content. Is it easy to send things that are emailed to me to the kindle scribe, mark up the document, sign it, and send it back to a certain email?
Trust me your notes do upload to the cloud. If you get another scribe you'll still have your notes. It's cloud for other scribes, I don't think for your phone or anything
Why not buy a small Kindle Paperwhite or Oasis for outdoor portability and reduced risks of financial damage if you drop or scratched the screen? Take notes via iPhone voice memo. Then go home and use e-handwrite on Remarkable 2?
I like your idea of taking notes via iPhone and having portability of a Kindle paperwhite would provide. You just helped me make my choice. Thank you!👌🏽
Nice review, but like so many similar review videos, the narrator’s voice volume Fades at the end of sentences, some times making his words unintelligible.
Whenever I see honest review, I have no idea what that means about the other reviews, but there's instant distrust like the time a car salesman told me his name was honest Bill
This is a really informative video! Just curious, can you doodle over PDFs? I have scanned textbooks that I want to write over for my classes and as much as I love e-ink tablets, I'm deciding between getting a Scribe or a mini ipad with a stylus. This is complicated by the release of the Kobo Libra Colour which I believe lets you doodle over books.

If you want one, buy it now. Amazon is VERY slow about updating hardware. It would surprise me if we see a Kindle Scribe 2 any earlier than late 2025 or even into 2026. When that happens, you can trade yours in to Amazon for cash off your next one.

Ive thought the same thing and tried several alternatives since I bought my first Kindle in 2009. But I always return. Others offer a better UI, some offer nicer hardware. But anyone who is looking for an e-reader/tablet that “just works” and has every book available you can think of in one place, U.S. based support and the confidence the company and product will be around for many years to come, well, the Amazon Kindle is by far the best option for now. l have a love-hate relationship with Amazon like many people, but I’m too old and tired to play activist with my purchases decisions at this point.
