It's really sad to see so many modern games abandoning local co-op/multiplayer. I understand the reasoning behind it, that it's not worth the money given how few people play locally nowadays. But there's really nothing quite like sitting shoulder to shoulder and play with another person or two.

So many times my gf and I get excited about the announcement of a new coop game, only to discover that we can’t play it because it’s online only. I’m not about to buy a second PS5 just so that my gf can play with me from another room!
In my opinion, one of the most attractive elements of the Quidditch World Cup was seeing each world team with their uniforms, movements, and even the brooms were different for each team. In the new game, seeing all the world teams have the same uniform where only the color changes is quite boring. I feel that they should design each team's characteristic uniform in the same way. Also, the stadium should be used only for the final match, and each team should have its own stadium. This way, it would be more exciting to play the entire World Cup as a visitor or a local, and the final would feel more epic in the World Cup stadium, as we saw in the movie. Regarding gameplay, I feel that the Seeker should be able to go outside the limits of the stadium. It feels too strange to just go from one side of the field to the other until he catches the Snitch. I understand why they did this with the other players, but the Seeker should be able to go outside these limits to make it feel more epic.

I remember playing the original on PC and finding that if you charged your throw long enough it would be to fast for anything in the game to catch the ball from you so I managed to steamroll to the world champion section and pretty much only playing as England and Australia because they had the best announcers. I met one of the artists for most of the early Harry Potter games a couple months back at a con and he was very happy that me and my friends remembered the games and liked his creature designs and then burst out laughing when we mentioned this game and the Australians, lovely guy.
The game was incredibly easy. Even as a kid I managed to max out the score meter in every match. Like I’m pretty sure I did some sort of exploit that allowed me to push the snitch over into their side (regarding the thing at the top) in order to keep letting me score goals lol
@@TheSCPStudio it was made for kids and teenagers. I was happy to play it as a teenager. But now I am frustrated while playing Champions as an adult. There should be balance of some kind
I loved the original soooo much when I was a child. I always played it after coming home from school. The opening screen is actually why I'm into classical even to this day.
So overall the games seem fairly similar bar the obvious graphical differences. Have to say, I appreciate the joke of having the Hagrid PS1 skin in champions.
The similarities are skin deep. And by the looks, less fun. Only gripe with World cup is that they locked AI difficulty behind hard to complete(or just tedious) unlock requirements. Champions doesn't feel like quidditch, doesn't play like quidditch and lack all flair that made world cup fun.
It seems minor, but the cool stadiums were the most vivid memories I had of the original. It was the main element I was looking forward to for the new one, and ended up being the deal-breaker, I didn't buy it.
Yeah, it's a shame they didn't include a remake of the old national stadiums. I would love to see the old Spain and Japan stadiums in Champions someday. But I wouldn't write the game off just because of that. They have plans to add more stadiums, and if you liked QWC back in the day, Champions is like the spiritual successor to it.
Totally agree. The stadiums and that music (I can't even remember if it was an actual piece of classical music they used or not). The atmosphere is so important.
Doesn't matter how good the gameplay is. A multiplayer game where you're forced to play online only will always be inferior to those you can play with friends or family in the same room.
I was surprised about how well it plays, and how it feels like a nod to the old game. It also has that Philosopher's Stone flying vibe too. If they add more content along the way, this will be a solid game that could live for a good while.
You should include the GBA connectivity feature in the GameCube version of World Cup. It turns the game into a weird co-op where the GBA player does stuff as a beater and eventually the seeker.
I personally do think I prefer the old rules, because the world cup is all about CUMULATIVE points. Individual wins and losses didn't ultimately matter, true. But that's because there was a strategy to earning points in the overall standings. Like maybe you have to be at least 50 points up on the other team before catching the Snitch in order to guarantee your first place win. But I do have to admit that this ruleset makes for a more cohesive videogame. I do think it's really disappointing how much personality was stripped from the game, though. Especially for the World Cup. Team uniforms and designs are not as fun and only a single stadium is kinda lame. I can give a pass for the lack of team-based special moves for sake of game balance I suppose, but beyond that....
Points are the dumbest ruleset for quidditch leagues. Gryffindor could catch the snitch within 5 seconds in all their games and finish on 450 points after 3 games where as Slytherin could lose every game 1000-800 and win the cup on 2400 points... what ever two teams play last could let each other score until they're both first and second then play for real...
@@willnestor6422 ...That's the point. It prevents the teams from just catching the Snitch right away and winning with minimum points and having games last, like...a minute. Because you have to take your overall points into account. Gryffindor deserves to lose at that point because that's just bad strategy because you know that that is the MINIMUM score for a team that wins. We don't know all of the rules for these games either. There could absolutely be something that prevents teams from wasting time like that, like how boxers aren't allowed to clinch with each other too much. Even if there wasn't, the fans aren't going to be happy to see that, so that's going to blow up in both teams' faces as well as the faces of the World Cup committee. I really can't imagine there isn't some kind of massive penalty (like disqualification) for unsportsmanlike strategies like that
Yours is the content that the intersection between TH-cam and gaming was born for. James Rolfe recorded himself ranting about Simon's Quest in 2004, not knowing he was paving the way for games to be compared to one another by Flandrew. (But seriously though, one of my favorite aspects of video game history is the anachronism of comparing games built for vastly different hardware specifications 1:1. I'm so glad I found your channel back when I searched "Sorcerer's Stone PS1 PS2 comparison" years ago. 8:03 Inbreeding.
Having finished the video I'd say I really do like quidditch champions. Biggest gripes right now are: - needing internet 100% of the time - lack of team moves - lack of stadiums - want France and Bulgaria back Other than that I think they're doing alright and I have seen they are actively updating to get rid of any small bugs that may still be in the game, or small updates needed to ensure stuff works
Lack of stadiums was a big one for me. I was really disappointed to only see like 6 different pitches/stadiums. Team USA had my favorite pitch from the original game.
As someone who would still play the old one up to today I have to say I think the new one is technically better and has a lot of charm but does miss some of the charm of the old ones. But being a modern game I know it will probably surpass the charm of the old one with a few updates/extra content
@@JohnnyInJapan I understand why the snitch isnt 150 points worth since it makes the game much more fair. The only thing I dont get about is the decision that catching the snitch dosnt automatically end the game. You can still have the 7 minutes rule if it is a matter of the game taking too long. but removing the "catching the snitch ends the game" and replace it with a first to 100 points seems a bit weird to me
As seeker in quidditch champions it's purely about being close to the snitch the rings only grant full boost which though is great sometimes you have to do a pre-emptive turn so you don't collide with the walls barriers but I have managed to catch the snitch with only going through 1 or 2 hoops with the dodge bludger speed increase skill and the distance increase to build the meter. Great video and loved the comparison and some of the "emotions" shown from the quidditch world cup.
I LOVED THAT GAME... I remember always playing as team U.S.A. in my young patriotic self. It was so good, the tricks, all the cool pitch options, my god it was so cool
I'm proud of the developers for changing the rules to rebalance the snitch, seems like a good move to me. And the steam store page says there are NO microtransactions, very important these days! I might check this one out when it comes to the switch later on.
Yeah there's no microtransactions in the game yet, but I wouldn't put it past them to add them into the game later. It feels like it's set up for them. There's 3 currencies in the game, Moonstones, gold and Winged Keys. The Winged Keys feel like a 'premium' currency and even though you earn them in game and can't buy them with real money, it feels like you should be able to. Earning them in-game is few and far between. I've played about 100 matches so far and I've got 50 Winged Keys. You need 250 to unlock one legendary character.
Quidditch Champions honestly seems like a natural evolution to Quidditch World Cup, both in terms of technology and gameplay mechanics. I do hope as time goes on they add more content possibly in the form of additional seasons.
Ahhh yes I remember the good old Quidditch days back when I was at Hogwarts. I was a Keeper and occasional Chaser. Had the opportunity to play against both Durmstrang and Beauxbatons. The Durmstrang team was overly aggressive, so long as you know how to maneuver the skies you're good, otherwise they will beat you down without hesitation. The Beauxbatons team was incredibly fast... that's why my role as Keeper was key against them, with help from well-aimed Bludgers. I still have my broom somewhere in the attic, might give it a ride sometime for nostalgia's sake (I'm too old for Quidditch now).
I only have one vague as hell memory of the original game: Playing a few levels as Harry to beat Malfoy, finishing the "main plot", and being *so confused, almost disgusted* (for some reason) by the ability to play as completely obscure and random adults (to my autisic kid brain). Also I remember the colour trail for one of the national/adult teams being far less impressive to kid me than the simple red of Griffindor. I was obsessed with Harry Potter as a kid
I have to admit, playing quidditch world cup back when it was released and being from Australia, I have to admit I have a definite soft spot for the Australian team (especially their team special move). I haven't got champions yet (I'm holding off for the switch version), but I'll be looking forward to seeing the improvements it's made
I remember playing world cup on my parents ancient laptop until I cracked the cd. It was so far ahead of its time, it makes you wonder why some aspects of the new game have seemed to been left out
Wait, it's really interesting that they took inspiration from some of the irl quidditch rules. Making the snitch exactly 30 points and ending the match after a set timer. I wonder if we could use quadball's tactics in the videogame, but we'd need all chasers and beaters to be played by different people, and to be in a call to plan it. I'd love it.
Well, the game was initially designed as a 5v5 game with two chasers, a keeper, a beater and a seeker. 6v6 with the current team structure but all-players is supposed to come later this year.
I remember the first one fondly. It did get to the point that I never even had to worry about the snitch though as I was always about 150-200 points ahead by the time it came out but it was still fun.
I own QWC and I played QC for a bit. QC is most definitely a gigantic leap over the first one: - Different studio (EA in 2003, PKG in 2024). - The snitch has been nerfed to 30 points. Down from 150 - The snitch can be caught multiple times. - The games are timed (7 minutes). The snitch in my games when the seekers are left alone is usually caught 2-3 times before time runs out. - The playing field is ENORMOUS. - You can play all positions individually. - Source material (JKR and SS) said there's 7 players. 3 Chasers, 2 Beaters, 1 Keeper, 1 Seeker. - This game, for some reason, only has ONE beater per team. - Keepers and Beaters each have a unique ability to help their teammates. 2:40 It was worth 150, not 120.
Qudditch Champions is pretty barebones when you think about it but I will never understand the hate it receives. People are upset at the combos and finishers being gone but fail to realize that it would be impossible to have here. World Cup is focused on single player with you mainly controlling the Chaser, do people really want cutscenes every 10 seconds someone scores a goal? The only thing World Cup beats Champions at is the aesthetics. There 100% should have been stadiums based on each country at launch and we should have at least been given the chance to play as a team other than our created one. It makes 0 sense to go from the House Cup, Triwizard Cup, and then World Cup if most of your team looks like they're in High School. I really liked the idea of winning the House Cup for your preferred house and then getting to see them watch (you) a professional world cup team play. I also feel like there should have been ways to change your "Style". Aggressive, kind, etc would have been a great way to change how certain animations look to make you feel more unique. Not everyone wants to appear smiley and happy all the time.
Multiple teams and naming characters would be a cool addition. If they added that, it could help switch up gameplay a little. I'd probably build a Slytherin Team that specializes in aggressive skills and brooms and a balanced Gryffindor team. But national stadiums like the ones from QWC would be what makes this game a masterpiece.
This. This game was developed as a multiplayer game, it was marketed as a multiplayer game, yet so many people treat it as a "mediocre" singleplayer game with an "afterthought" multiplayer. No? Singleplayer is literally the afterthought here, it's so obviously made last minute by just adding bots to the existing multiplayer design. How ANYONE thinks this game is singleplayer-first is beyond me.
Many multiplayer game have small cutscene such as Mario Strikers: Battle League or Smash Ultimate. Make it so you can only have a special move happen 2-3 times per match and it won't take too much time. You could have the seeker either focus on the snitch or catch some orbs to fill up a meeter & once full you can have a free goal with a cutscene. It would add strategy to the seeker position. There are so many possibilities
I’m so glad they redid this game in like a new style. I loved the Quidditch World Cup game and would verse my sister all the time when we wanted to play it. And I love seeing new game mechanics. I can’t wait to get it. Eventually.
Great video, but should be fair to mention that on the two hardest dificulties, Keepers can block bludgers and seekers dodge bludgers better too as well as the snitches path becomes harder to follow and the ai becomes more aggressive with tackles, bludgers and bumping, But I agree, i love the option to either play the whole team or just the role/s you like and the npc's are competant enough that you don't feel handicapped by your chosen playstyle. Also new stadiums, teams, characters and cosmetics aswell as game modes will be realesed in the modern Seasons format that lots of games have adopted.
You know, 16 years ago when I gave my copy of the game to my best friend before they left the country, I didn't rhink I'd be finding it as an adult so much later on
honestly more pros that cons, i'm sure as its updated more it will be even more fun ( I am sad to see local play and special team moves gone) but hopefully they implement them again in the future.
I started playing this 2 days ago (champions), bloody love it, just the lack of teamwork kills it a bit. I do like how the game forces you to spread points evenly among your players (i tried putting points only into chaser), it made me put points into keeper and beater (which i never use because i cant guard the goals haha). This game has my praise because of the lack of p2w. Makes you feel good about progression when you actually earn it
I played Quidditch World Cup when I was a kid on GameCube. It was one of my favorite games. So seeing Quidditch Champions be released is amazing and I look forward to getting it.
I really like that catching the snitch just gives your team 30 points instead of 150 but it not ending the match is kind of meh. Takes a lot away from tactics. Tactically playing for a short or long match would be interesting I think. Also the Beaters not being allowed to attack the Keeper under most circumstances is one of the few rules that we get in the books...
So far I think all I want right now, is a ranked mode, team moves would be nice even if just for single player, and then FOR SURE MAPS. The each team having their own map was always my favorite. Japan and America were always my go to and so much fun.
I never played quidditch world cup but I remember it and it seems like it was really fun. I've played the new one and it's really fun. I can't wait until there add more features and pitches in the future
I actually just pulled out my old copy of Quittich World Cup and played a few rounds on my old save to compare it to the new one. And, BOY was it incredibly un-fun to lose a game I was winning to the stupid snitch chase mechanics. Glad the new one could rebalance that, I think it works just fine as is.
It's funny how the old game was limited by tech at the time and had no online MP, whereas the new one just phases out local MP instead. One thing the new game won't have over the old one is the classical orchestral blowout on startup. Sure it was an unrelated classical piece, but somehow it made it feel way more intense than it had any right to be as a simple sports game.
While i do enjoy QC, after playing it for a few days i just wish they did a remake of QWC, i like playing chaser and seeker way more in QWC and the world cup teams were so much better with different pitches, broom, characters and special moves. Maybe this is my nostalgia speaking but what QC mostly did was make me want to play QWC again.
Ah, quidditch world cup. I loved this game. I had the GBA version, so I always wondered what the PS2 one was like. Turns out it's pretty similar, just 3D.
Honestly I feel like I'm the only one who sees it. The current game feels so rigid & bland compared to the original Quidditch World Cup. The original really made you feel like you were playing quidditch as a pro and all the cool team special moves, shooting special moves and passsing combos were so fun. Super immersive for the time. and played really smoothly. Like many pieces of modern media these days, the new one overall feels like it lacks depth, substance, character, and charm. Does anyone else feel this way too? I have to say, props for including ps1 Hagrid as a skin though 😂
You can't play two-player in the new one so it was instantly deleted from my library. I haven't got a clue what they were thinking. I sat down with my eldest son, we had our controllers in our hands, he was giddy to play a new game with me and then... nope! Absolutely stupid.
Quidditch Champions is amazing just wish we had more arenas and special moves otherwise it is perfect I love how you have far more controls over the characters and unique gameplay mechanics for ever positions
My dream Qudditch game has always been one that played it straight, act like its a sports game from a real sport, needs to add the local multiplayer too.
I only played with combo passes and shots in QWC I would get the snitch out with 2-3 goals, while using special moves and bludgers to keep the enemy seeker bar low. The best part were the team special moves, because you needed to complete some quests to get them. I remember Bulgaria, you had to catch the snitch but lose the game, like in the book.
Yeah, I must admit. I like Quidditch World Cup better too, but it's nice to have tried out Champions and had fun with it as well. A tad bit complicated in getting used to, tho.
@@XavierXSimschampions is ok but what i don't like about it is that the snitch is only worth 30 points and not 150 at least with world cup quidditch was accurate to how it was presented in the books and movies which is why I like it more
@@Lion09887 Yeah the snitch point change and the game being 6 person teams instead of actual 7 is a tad odd, I get for "balancing" but still, could have kept it a bit more true to the game. I'm not a big fan of the controls, a bit too many inputs for my liking, I like the simple controls of world cup, but that's just be being old lol.
😐 yall bad at competitive games thats it and the thing about the 150 points is for balance, tgis is not a coop game or si gle player, catching the snitch a finish the game ONLINE yall would be butt hurt if your team lose on ranked 😂
i like that the snitch awards less points but i dont like that it doesnt end the game cause that actually was interesting as you werent allowed to catch it if you were too far behind
Quidditch World Cup had a real gritty athletic essence to it, but Quidditch Champions is fresh and is actually really fun to play. They did really well for the kind of art and play style they used.
FWIW the Snitch was 150 points in World Cup, like the books. But even with that score, I found the Chaser portion of the game could easily go long enough for far more than fifteen goals to be scored, especially with the team special moves (which gave you multiple goals, and reduced the Snitch bar to boot).
What gives me the biggest hope for Champions over QWC is that they've announced a roadmap including more content down the line. They can add new stages and other modes to keep players going and I hope the fanbase (and developers because let's be honest we live in an age where service games die at the drop of a hat when sales don't "meet expectations") continues to give it a chance to grow and improve.
The problem is Quidditch can be quite monotonous. It would be interesting to see mini-games added. Maybe a quidditch mode but with Mario-Kart style powerups, or team volley ball where you tackle the quaffle instead of carrying it, maybe even a free-for-all chaser mode but the goal hoops fly around the map. These are just some ideas off the top of my head. But the devs could play around with the mechanics to come up with something interesting.
@@PowerofRock24 I agree with you but actually this is a thing of many games that are really popular (Rocket League, Counter Strike, Fifa etc.). So I think that Quidditch Champions might have a chance.

Doesn't matter how good the gameplay is. A multiplayer game where you're forced to play online only will always be inferior to those you can play with friends or family in the same room.
true dat, well said
Correct sir, very smart point.
I was surprised about how well it plays, and how it feels like a nod to the old game. It also has that Philosopher's Stone flying vibe too. If they add more content along the way, this will be a solid game that could live for a good while.
You should include the GBA connectivity feature in the GameCube version of World Cup. It turns the game into a weird co-op where the GBA player does stuff as a beater and eventually the seeker.
very cool concept, did not know about this thx
The Combos & Special Moves in QWC 🔥🔥🔥
Honestly, I'm happy to see you've made a video on this. I got to play it since it came out, but I'm interested to see your take on it
I personally do think I prefer the old rules, because the world cup is all about CUMULATIVE points.
I really can't imagine there isn't some kind of massive penalty (like disqualification) for unsportsmanlike strategies like that
Genuinely the video i was waiting for
Yours is the content that the intersection between TH-cam and gaming was born for.
I played QWC as a kid and got so good at the Chaser section that I would just ignore the the Snitch altogether.
Still debating getting Champions
Having finished the video I'd say I really do like quidditch champions. Biggest gripes right now are:
- needing internet 100% of the time
- lack of team moves
- lack of stadiums
- want France and Bulgaria back
Other than that I think they're doing alright and I have seen they are actively updating to get rid of any small bugs that may still be in the game, or small updates needed to ensure stuff works
Lack of stadiums was a big one for me. I was really disappointed to only see like 6 different pitches/stadiums. Team USA had my favorite pitch from the original game.
@@sdaftermath123 dude! Yes! And their special move was awesome
It would be cool if we can make just one player and replace the ones from the actual team
@@nevermindgaming6848 exactly!!
I remember the crows in the original shouting the counties name "BULGARIAAAAAA"! Was so fun.
As someone who would still play the old one up to today I have to say I think the new one is technically better and has a lot of charm but does miss some of the charm of the old ones. But being a modern game I know it will probably surpass the charm of the old one with a few updates/extra content
Facts. QWC had so much charm to it. Champions does too, but not the old school charm of the 2000's era. It's hard to match that.
After the new quidditch game came out I new this video was coming
The Snitch was 150 in QWC ;)
Which is terrible
@@JohnnyInJapan but lore accurate
aaand you can still lose
@@JohnnyInJapan I understand why the snitch isnt 150 points worth since it makes the game much more fair. The only thing I dont get about is the decision that catching the snitch dosnt automatically end the game. You can still have the 7 minutes rule if it is a matter of the game taking too long. but removing the "catching the snitch ends the game" and replace it with a first to 100 points seems a bit weird to me
@@Jamlord2061 part of unlocking the Bulgaria team special, actually required you to do that as well,
Special moves & Team special moves were so much fun
They were probably the most fun part of the entire game....... weird to see them not be in the new game.
@@Reeces_Pieces yeah
That Quidditch Champions game lets you pick your own people just like in Backyard Sports (Remember that game? It's back)
Yooooo wtf im so glad I saw this comment. My hopes are high
@@royalflush5ts Yeah
Omg! I Was waiting for this!!! 🙏😁
5:26 Wdym, the entire world cup section after the Hogwarts cup was basically an achievement-collecting ladder to unlock the Bulgarians
This and Hogwarts Legacy gives me major nostalgia for the early Harry Potter videogames. Something that lacked for all the games after PoA.
For them to not add quidditch in legacy made me uninstall lmfao. Now I’m happy tho we got something
The GameBoy Color versions of PS/SS and CoS + the GBA version of PoA were so good
The original game was awesome! I really liked the different quidditch pitch designs for each country
I'm proud of the developers for changing the rules to rebalance the snitch, seems like a good move to me. And the steam store page says there are NO microtransactions, very important these days! I might check this one out when it comes to the switch later on.
I'm skeptical of that. That's what Activision said about CTR nitro fueled and sure it had no microtransactions. Until it did a year later.
@@DarkPsychoMessiahyeah that was such a scummy move
I absolutely love it, the ability to play as every position is an interesting mechanic but useful when to get the hang of it
I have to admit, playing quidditch world cup back when it was released and being from Australia, I have to admit I have a definite soft spot for the Australian team (especially their team special move). I haven't got champions yet (I'm holding off for the switch version), but I'll be looking forward to seeing the improvements it's made
As a QWC veteran I was waiting for QC since day it was annouced and it was worth all the wait. It's great successor of QWC
7:12 “that’s allowed” caught me off guard 😂😂
I had my reservations with the reveal trailer, but it actually looks hella fun.
The team specials are what made the first game lovable for me. Especially the World Cup teams like englands were top tier
I own QWC and I played QC for a bit. QC is most definitely a gigantic leap over the first one:
- Different studio (EA in 2003, PKG in 2024).
- The snitch has been nerfed to 30 points. Down from 150
- The snitch can be caught multiple times.
It's not tho it's getting monthly updates
Multiple teams and naming characters would be a cool addition. If they added that, it could help switch up gameplay a little. I'd probably build a Slytherin Team that specializes in aggressive skills and brooms and a balanced Gryffindor team. But national stadiums like the ones from QWC would be what makes this game a masterpiece.
New potential stadiums seem like a relatively easy thing to add
Eventually.
I’m so glad you made this because I kept thinking it was either a port or a remake lmao
Really great review!
"No local multiplayer"
Welp, couch coop is basically the reason I'd get a game like this!
You know, 16 years ago when I gave my copy of the game to my best friend before they left the country, I didn't rhink I'd be finding it as an adult so much later on
thank you im loving the new game, was trying to remember how i felt about the old one. giving online really helps it
honestly more pros that cons, i'm sure as its updated more it will be even more fun ( I am sad to see local play and special team moves gone) but hopefully they implement them again in the future.
Makes you feel good about progression when you actually earn it
Quidditch World Cup will forever be a hood classic
I played Quidditch World Cup when I was a kid on GameCube. It was one of my favorite games. So seeing Quidditch Champions be released is amazing and I look forward to getting it.
You know, I wouldn't have considered play it ever. But this video convinced me. Looks pretty fun!
I love this video. I love this comparison between Quiddich World Cup and Quiddich Champions.
Beater was always the position that I wanted to be. I'm glad it's good in this game.
So far I think all I want right now, is a ranked mode, team moves would be nice even if just for single player, and then FOR SURE MAPS. The each team having their own map was always my favorite. Japan and America were always my go to and so much fun.
I remember unlocking the team specials. You had to do certain things to earn cards, to unlock them.
Even WB admits the Snitch is broken.
I never played quidditch world cup but I remember it and it seems like it was really fun. I've played the new one and it's really fun. I can't wait until there add more features and pitches in the future
I had no idea there was a single player component to the new game! They need to do better marketing lol. Great review, thanks!
Unusual choice to have Malfoy apparently voiced by a Norwegian when there’s a lot of British voice actors out there
It's funny how the old game was limited by tech at the time and had no online MP, whereas the new one just phases out local MP instead.
I actually have so much nostalgia for the soundtrack of Quidditch World cup
Absolutely baffling that Ireland and Bulgaria are not available to play
They will most likely be added later on.
Quidditch Champions is amazing just wish we had more arenas and special moves otherwise it is perfect I love how you have far more controls over the characters and unique gameplay mechanics for ever positions
I used to really like special moves, each house had a different move, and each country had a different one! I used to love the Australia special move
My dream Qudditch game has always been one that played it straight, act like its a sports game from a real sport, needs to add the local multiplayer too.
Quidditch World Cup was an amazing game. Had that game and a couple other Harry Potter games on CDs
The Golden Snitch is such a BS, Deus Ex Machina mechanic that I feel in real Quiddich would've caused riots.
Rip local co-op would be incredible
I only played with combo passes and shots in QWC I would get the snitch out with 2-3 goals, while using special moves and bludgers to keep the enemy seeker bar low. The best part were the team special moves, because you needed to complete some quests to get them. I remember Bulgaria, you had to catch the snitch but lose the game, like in the book.
Quidditch world cup is better you can't change my mind
Yeah, I must admit. I like Quidditch World Cup better too, but it's nice to have tried out Champions and had fun with it as well. A tad bit complicated in getting used to, tho.
@@XavierXSimschampions is ok but what i don't like about it is that the snitch is only worth 30 points and not 150 at least with world cup quidditch was accurate to how it was presented in the books and movies which is why I like it more
@@Lion09887 Fair enough.
I agree. Both games were fun but for different reasons. The single player was more engaging in QWC and the multiplayer is by far superior in QC
i like that the snitch awards less points but i dont like that it doesnt end the game
cause that actually was interesting as you werent allowed to catch it if you were too far behind
Quidditch World Cup had a real gritty athletic essence to it, but Quidditch Champions is fresh and is actually really fun to play. They did really well for the kind of art and play style they used.
PS1 Hagrid being an unlockable thing is so adorable.
I'm enjoying the game, but the OG will have a special place in my heart.
FWIW the Snitch was 150 points in World Cup, like the books. But even with that score, I found the Chaser portion of the game could easily go long enough for far more than fifteen goals to be scored, especially with the team special moves (which gave you multiple goals, and reduced the Snitch bar to boot).
I kinda loved the old way of catching the snitch, it really felt fast.
PS1 Hagrid skin sold me.

Madam Hooch: "That's allowed."
the OG quidditch wold cup will always have a special place in my heart. But im probably never gonna play another quidditch game ever. the old game was just too good and lore acurate
I like that the new game has an art style. Most modern games are just photo realistic with no fantasy style. I like the new controls. I like the clever stadium designs of the old game.
I enjoy your appearance in TheLonelyGoomba.
5:11 She did actually say in the books that you can't attack the keeper unless the quaffel is in the scoring area
When i first saw the trailer a remake off Quidditch world cup was the first thing to ender my mind. And can you do a comparison between the classic Scooby Doo trilogy??(night of 100 frights, Mystery mayhem and unmasked)
