I guessed 875kg and now I'm dyeing to know how it goes on the first track outing, There is a great power to weight calculator on the Westfield webssite that gives BHP per Ton.
You can get VW/Audi/Porsche ignition coils that have rubber tubes for the hard to reach places they live in nowadays. Maybe look into those? Also, what will you be doing with the engine air filter? I have to doubt it being directly on the throttle body is your answer, since everything else is so incredible well thought out!
Super nice episode! The weight is awesome! Think about Stainless Welded Heat shield for exhaust, it's more hi-end stuff, like your other things. Keep going!
This is an incredibly clean build you have got going here! I guessed way above your car's weight too, so this a great result. I love your thought processes and solutions, it makes me want to do better! Shame about the coils, but as you say the pencil coils may be a better solution in the end anyway. I have Honda CoP ignition for my build - they fit perfectly on the SC 3.0's valve covers.
Great work as always! Are you considering using pulse jet ignition on your cars? You will have a colder (edited), cleaner burn. It isn't much more noticeable on the twin plug engine (but still is), but on the single plug 2.7 will be a nice upgrade over a conventional plug. I'm testing them on my big bore flat 4 vw engine and they are a nice upgrade for sure
@@islandworks it is. If you search "pulse jet ignition" on youtube or google you can see what I'm talking about. Depending on the engine, gains of 10-20hp are seen on the dyno, with a more efficient, cooler running, and less emissions engine. Maybe it sounds like magic, but do you own research to see the benefits of it. It also usually requires more idle timing and less total timing to work well
Fantastic result on the weight reduction Jonas, all the hard work paying off!! 😊 what’s the difference in fitment with the 964 engine, are the heads not in the same place as the earlier ones? I thought even the 3.6 guys are all using the Bosch COPs… the sensor plug bracket up front is really nice, I hate sheet metal one as well.
Yes it will be a lean machine with this weight! I cannot figure out how the Bosch plug will work. Having said that my engine is half 993 with the valve covers and top end so that might be the difference. Previously I used a different kind of CoP that are smaller, but feel flimsy…
Yay, stuck home and sick as hell but today just improved.
I’m happy to be of help 🤝👍
the weigh in joy at the end 😊
It made my day!
Love the reaction at the end when you weigh it. He he
It was quite a moment for me!
All hail the algorithm ☺️ love this project
An absolute massive result on weight saving Jonas, that's going to make it a lively car!
What a legend. Your designs and solutions to problems are unblelievably well done. I knew you would well surpass your 964 kg goal!
You have created a MONSTER.Do you know how fast your car is going to be?My God...😮😊😅😂
True automotive Renaissance Man. 👍
I’m happy to contribute to history!
always amazing to watch this craftsman. can't wait for the start up
It will be a magic day!
This is my dream car build.
Also mine!
So close now! Must be very exciting and gratifying after all those hours.
Many hours has passed, and with that some blood sweat and love❤️
Can't wait for a track rollout!
Very cool! Looking forward to hearing it run for the first time.
Likewise!
Great to see a new episode and the progress. Always Quality. All that Carbon looks so good.
My guess is 982Kg WET with driver
Finally, long time but looks cool!
You could adjust the fin that more air to the windows. In rainy track days it can easily fog the front windscreen
That’s a good point. I did go the extra mile with a heated wind screen through
following since long, and not necessarily interested in all the details, but man, I am watching this with joy! great stuff!
It’s fun also to make it!
Congratulations with 964 weight 🥳 well done🎉
No worries about coils, u have nice ideas!
Porsche Club Moscow
Thanks!

Hell yeah brother, I have been following this for years! So crazy to see that number!!
It’s a good number. It will be fast!!

996kg, hope you can drive it unlike my track build didn't dare drive it incase it got damaged
I have some concerns about that as well!
Super nice episode! The weight is awesome! Think about Stainless Welded Heat shield for exhaust, it's more hi-end stuff, like your other things. Keep going!
Welcome back legend 🎉
Thank you 👍😎
Awesome work, well done!
Thanks!

Thanks! I’ll be using the same “Denso” with Bosch igniters.
amazing video ❤🎉 waiting for first start!!
Im watching from 1 episode 👊🤘
It’s been a longer wait that what I initially thought… but he who waits shall be rewarded! 👍
Va härligt Jonas, Bra jobbat! Hälsn, granne från öst🇫🇮
Kul!

Is that a different kind of plug? I still need to buy new ones

Nice work, are you going to be adding the 3d file on the website for the clamps?
It might be a good idea to add some of the small bits and pieces there perhaps? You can anyway email me and I’ll set you up Todd!
Any updates coming soon?
Yes, new episode is filming!
I have not seen previous episodes and I was wondering about the engine HP and torque? 350HP may be??
Amazing. Such a clean well thought out set up.
It took me a while, and I like it ❤️
