I'm actually a Diasporican, born and raised in Maryland, but my entire family is all from Puerto Rico, and I go back to the island every year to visit, hoping to move back to our family home someday. I don't feel connected here in the states or really proud of the US, I think the US is a good country, but the US has no culture, its mostly a mixed multicultural nation and everyone is out for themselves, its really dull here. But Puerto Rico has a beautiful strong family oriented Latin culture, that's why I love the homeland so much and am 100% proud to be Boricua.

@The Near Horizon Yes, my family feels the same, we really want to leave Maryland. Hmm the interviews are nice, but I like the going around and asking a bunch of people what they think videos better, so we can see what most people on the island think. Like I was shocked to see in the status video that most wanted independence out right, I was thinking that it was going to be most people saying commenwealth or saying that they wanted independence but choose commenwealth because they are afraid independence won't work. The one I really want to see is the Act60 video with you guys asking people how they feel about people just coming to the island to pay less taxes and causing gentrification.

I could see why some would be upset, most of the people interviewed said they were happy that gringos were coming down and I think they probably took it as you guys encouraging more to come for Act60, but you guys did interview some people that did preface that it was okay for Gringos to come to the island but not if it's to come and just do business and exploit the island.
@@jlm3744 Yeah, agreed. We are doing our best to not appear like we are pushing out any particular message. Thats why I want to share some of the full interviews to show we aren't just splicing it together to fit our narrative. I think sometimes people may just naturally disagree with a majority of the opinions that day which is fine, as long as it creates dialogue. Theres also the issue of people on the street self-censoring what they want to say on camera. 🤷🏼♂
I live in the mainland for the last 25 years. I have the same rights that any other American. If any mainlander American moved to lived in Puerto Rico, that American will have the same limitations of any American Citizen living in the island. I do not understand what is the problem.

The Fact that we are Americans from Puerto Rico does not erased who we are as Puerto Ricans. We can be Puerto Rican and American. In fact that is what we are. We need to stop the denial.
There is no separation between being an American Citizen and being an American. If you are an American Citizen you are an American and it does not made you less Puerto Rican.
