    Arroz Valenciana literally translates to Velencian Rice. Contrary to its translation, Arroz Valenciana is a Filipino Paella version. This dish has is not related to any rice dishes in Valencia, Spain. Traditional Arroz Valenciana recipes call for sweet or sticky rice, which is known as “malagkit” in the Philippines. This version makes use of both Jasmine rice and glutinous rice - which makes it less sticky and more pleasant to the palate.
    Arroz Valenciana is a special dish served during Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Other ingredients include chicken, chorizo de bilbao, red bell pepper, raisins, frozen green peas, tomato, boiled eggs, and Spanish saffron. The saffron is what makes Arroz Valenciana tastes good; it also provides an appetizing aroma.
    Arroz Valenciana is also known as Valenciana rice, Paella valenciana, Filipino paella, and Sticky paella. The use of calaspara rice, instead of glutinous and jasmine rice, will work well too.

      Heldz arroz valenciana ay just copy cat ng paella. Ang paella kasi ay maraming version kasi nga ito ay Spanish dish. I do not think they are similar, maybe in the cooking method only. But ingredients wise no.

    Good evening sir.. I've been planning to cook this dish, and the time has come, but I don't have tomato paste. I have no means in getting one. Can ketchup or spaghetti sauce replace it, or more paprika for coloring? That's the items only left here in the kitchen.Please help me. I have no time left. Thank you. Have a good day.

    I'm valencian and I just saw this video and it made me laugh! I think that maybe this will taste very good, but just for your info we never use that kind of ingredients (we NEVER use coconut milk because we don't have that in our country and also we never use raisings or eggs, it is very rare to see also chorizo, fresh tomato or onion).
    We usually use chicken or rabbit (or both) mixed with legumes (beans) but valencian rice is usually made with shellfish as opossed to chicken and rabbit paella. I hope you find this interesting ;)

      FYI, the Philippines was colonized by Spain a long time ago and this dish is obviously Filipino version which incorporates ingredients readily available in the area and suits Filipino taste.

      Thanks for the info! I knew that Spain colonized a big part of South America, but I didn't thought of this recipes being adapted (eventhough it is understandable and very straightforward >_> silly me). I'm sure this must taste amazing :D

      I'm Filipino and came from Iloilo, which is famous for valenciana in the Philippines. I think his version is more on Filipino style of cooking. More on tagalog style. Our version in Iloilo is different. We also don't use coconut milk, saffron or tomato. We use chicharoz, chicken/pork,turmeric,shrimp, and liver,...

      The Philippines adapted Arroz Valenciana from Spain. Some ingredients we changed because some ingredients from Spain are not found in my country. :)
