@Miles Dodsworth Theres no one better to play harley imo. you can tell Margot understands harley and loves the character. She also helped produce birds of prey so it should be good.
@@J1ntu I did. it was fast paced and kinda weird, but entertaining and very quirky lol. didn't feel like a dc film but it was funny at parts. definitely Margot Robbies portrayal of Harley
CaptAssassin I never really liked Cinema Sins because I think he’s always bitching and doesn’t look at the beautiful part of the movie but Cinema Wins tries to look at both
Yes, sins don't explicitly say there is in the videos but on their channel intro, they say multiple times they are for jokes and nothing more. Also in that same intro, they say that many of them enjoy what they would consider "bad" movies. Now I agree with the idea that all entertainment is subjective, but only to a degree. The reason movies have those critical guidelines are because they work well when telling a story. That's what critique is based off. I have never seen this movie and I honestly don't plan to. I have seen both upsides and downsides to the movie and for me, I don't see it worth my time or money. It's the same reason I won't touch Fallout 76. There are many people that like both that game and this movie, but I personally won't touch them because from what I've seen they seem like a bad buy (especially 76 with it just being assets stolen from previous games to fund other projects). You don't have to agree and that's fine, but I do hope you respect that there is a reason people complain about entertainment.
I think that is a part of the joke, he is supposed to be nitpicky what he says goes, while this is more of a slightly less my way and more OUR way. he accepts everyones views and sees the brightside. sins, sees the dark side and tends to try and offend. but in the end its just two channels having fun doing what they love
I also don’t like cinema sins because he always sins for product placement Companies use product placements to earn more money when making films whilst adding realism because when you look around you can see products all around you
That’s a fair point. While I can see how these films can be better than how Warner Bros. is dictating the series, there are moments in this film that I like that _just_ edge out the issues.
Yeah, but just why is she there? Deadshot is really good with guns, diablo is fucking demon, croc is really strog, boomernag idk, but harley have nothing special.
Taylor Kawiti Agree. They were going for a modern, gangster Joker. And a hell of a lot of gangs have members tattooed all over just like him. And in some ways I found the most unpredictable, and unsettling - especially with the laugh. Of course Joaquin is my favorite Joker, that portrayal was too fantastically layered, but I get angry when Leto is shit or excluded in videos about the Joker.
"Enjoy what you enjoy" well said, and I have a lot of respect for you having the confidence to stick to your opinions in this internet climate that can get over-saturated with negativity.
I know, right?! It always bugs the crap out of me whenever anyone says that any kind of art is ""objectively"" bad, because that's not logically possible! The lack of objectivity is literally what makes art art! Basically: people shouldn't misuse the word "objectively" when they actually just mean "very", "extremely", "thoroughly" or any other word just to emphasize the strength of their opinion on something subjective.
@@Stathio I think there is a way to objectively measure the quality of art. And once art crosses that threshold of objective worth, then it is open to subjective preference. But at any level of objective quality, anyone can like or dislike something-- where their opinion falls is what determines if they have good taste or not
@@StewartFletcherI think you’re wrong. What determines good taste or or not. Being generally agreed upon?. I feel you just danced around the original point and left with “it’s totally objective”.
Character: **inhales and then exhales** Cinemawins: Character breathing!**adds win** Other side of the spectrum Character: **inhales then exhales** Cinemasins: Character wastes time breathing **adds two sins**
Yes, it's an art and that's what art is...entirely subjective so in order to properly critique it must be looked at objectively. That cant be done when you're a fan of something that is "rival" to "DC" because current popular opinion is "DC is trash"
I like Leto as the Joker. I couldn't see Heath as the Joker having a girlfriend, he was far too objective driven for love or anything else. Seeing Heath's Joker with Harley would be like seeing Darth Vader with a girlfriend. It would just be strange.
Heath's Joker could've had a girlfriend at a different stage of his life. For instance the meeting in Arkham after the Dark Knight was over would've been a good chance to give him something to do.
Joshua I LOVE Leto’s Joker (I’m furious I won’t see his full potential - though Joaquin would still beat him - yay Oscar!). I explained to my mom my thoughts about the designs and portrayals of Joker starting from 1989. Jack Nicholson is a mobster Joker, as the mob was still active at that time, so his mannerisms and costume perfectly for the time period. Heath Ledger played the Joker at a time when people were paranoid about terrorists, hence his terrorist like actions during the film (and points to the makeup referencing the painter Francis Bacon - the one piece of art Jack Nicholson didn’t destroy), and his worldview. I feel the costuming was less important in this film, except for his makeup. Leto plays Joker at a time where we constantly hear about gangs and gangsters (especially if you live in California like I do), and what people thought were grills were pointed out as replacements of the teeth he lost when coming in contact with Batman. And nearly every gang now has a majority of members completely tattooed, so it’s not that crazy for him to be as well. And take away the tattoos he does look a bit like some of the newer Joker designs, and I actually liked that strange laugh because of how unsettling it sounded, and how he only let it out by putting the tattooed mouth on his hand up to his mouth, meaning you don’t know what is behind the hand. He’s unpredictable. And it didn’t help they cut a lot of his scenes, so I wish Ayers would release his version as he stated he showed Joker and Harley’s relationship was abusive, and it all got cut. But Joaquin has became my favorite Joker ever. I’m happy “Parasite” won Best Picture, but I was hoping for “Joker” because it had so much to say (and I wish it had won more awards). But at least Leto gets to play Morbius now.
Dawn Storm Well, in the novelization they at least explain it to a fair degree. That they kept trying to make clone bodies for him to inhabit (a bit like Voldemort before he’s finally able to create a new body in the 4th one - who does have some snake characteristics carry over), and they tended to be weak power wise, or go mad - maybe a bit of both. And when they finally DO get a fairly suitable clone power wise who doesn’t go cuckoo, he runs off with a human presumably, he as a clone develops some agency and independent thought. And with granddaddy/daddy Palps probably not liking that all that much - hence her mom and dad leaving her on a fairly literal junkyard planet (though still leaving her open to the dark or light side in a sense by no one REALLY monitoring her - even before they were killed unlike - though it probably epilepsy have been hard to find someone to trust and believe that). Though it seems they were barely able to have time to leave her behind before being killed themselves, not long before they both are killed by an assassin who can’t find Rey. Palpatine probably didn’t want a Skywalker redemption arc he’d (and we’ve had to witness to varying degrees 3 different times with Anakin, Luke, and Ben). If he found Rey early enough - less hassle she’d cause as she grew older.
@@anthonylongoria2638 You kidding me? It'll be better than calculus with a professor who loves his calculator so much that he wanted us to know the instantaneous speed of the calculator when it dropped to the ground after he chugged it from a 60' building. Hello kids. Welcome to Geometry class with Deadshot
I can try to see the good points of this movie, but how do you get over the fact that events are shown to us at the beginning, then showed to us again in the final act of the movie as if it's a big reveal? I couldn't help but think that the editing was finished at the last minute by an intern... And then there is the fact that nothing seem to matter in the movie. For example, Boomerang instantly leaves when there is no more threat to is life anymore (in the bar scene), but he's back with everyone in the very next scene...
That is my one of my few legitimate complaints. The fake "reveal" that she pressed the button on the bomb. It wasn't a secret that she bailed. It was evidence that something wonky happened during editing. There may have possibly been a bigger reveal planned. But, c'est la vie. Most everything else doesn't bother me, even Boomerang coming back. I think he just wanted to see how it would all play out. And he liked Katana.
Digger has rogue honor, while not as clear cut its what I like about comic digger and the flash rogues, they're all about a pay day but have their lines that they don't cross
Boomerang coming back actually makes sense if we're talking character development. He went from "no honor among thieves" to actually learning honor among thieves. Could it have been done better? Absolutely. Did it break the movie or his character? Absolutely not.
@@SparkySpice0911 people have their own opinions about if they enjoy movies or not. I actually enjoyed all of the DCEU movies, including the new Aquaman movie and this movie! Justice League was decent in my opinion.
Honestly, I really like Suicide Squad (the soundtrack plays a big role though). I mean I think it was a pretty straight forward movie with awesome characters. I love Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Jared Leto as the Joker. I think the two bounced off each other really well and made it a believable romance between two very insane people. Will Smith was awesome too, I just loved his story arc with his daughter! It made me go awe so many times!
Completely agree with this. It IS possible to like a "bad" movie. Part of the reason why "Avatar" is still one of the most successful films of all time in the theater. Too many people like that bad movie for it to fail.
Will and Maggie stole the show, it was funny at times, like when boomerang walked out, the action was cool to watch, like the street battle or the elevator fight, and Jared leto brings a we jokes that truley loves Harley and cares for her, this movie get 3 out of 5 stars
Oh, it was the extended cut! I was completely thrown by some of the Harley scenes that I didn't recognize. I just adore her, so I need to see this version.
I actually sympathize with Enchantress. She was worshipped only to be betrayed and trapped for thousands of years, then when she wakes up shes bonded to someone who hates her, and is being blackmailed with the threat of death by a psychopath like Waller.
no, TRITON K175, he just spelled it out for you because they didn't spoonfeed it to you through exposition in the movie... you had to actually watch and pay attention.
This is a fair point; I can see a movie where Enchantress could make a compelling antagonist; it's a shame that even if Suicide Squad were executed flawlessly that she doesn't make much sense as its villain. I mean, She blames humanity "abandoning" her on technology for no reason that the film explains, and her plan is...to create a vague device (you could even call it a machine) that does...something bad (presumably several murder)? She also has the major issue of not tying into the film's themes; it would've been a stretch to say so even if she had joined the team before becoming the antagonist. As is the conflict of the film trivializes itself. Amanda Waller created the problem the Suicide Squad solves, so the squad wouldn't need to exist if she did not try to create it.
That is not actually true, I mean the last part. Moon found the statue and broke it herself, Enchantress was released without Waller's influence. We don't know why Enchantress didn't wreck havoc the second she was free, but we can fill in the blanks. Maybe she was gathering strenght, maybe she was fighting with Moon over control, maybe she was reconning the world, maybe there was a battle and she was caught soon after with cost of Waller's soldiers. But Waller managed to contain her. True, she used Enchantress in questionable ways and gave her opportunities to escape, but without her, she would be free to go and kill right away. Am I missing something? Tell me if I am. I really, really liked the movie, it has flaws, but either small or not that important to me. I had lot of fun!
I never felt bad for liking this movie, when people would ask me why I did, I simply said it was fun and I had fun. There's not much else to it. I enjoyed watching these characters, I laughed, and that soundtrack is awesome. Also Margo Robbie truly is a perfect Harley Quinn.
Amanda Johnson there so development, exposition is dumped on u in an inefficient way, it has a generic villain and the plot isn’t very good. Most of the characters r boring but I do enjoy Harley and deadshot. Also the fact that enchantress sent a blue bean to the sky, and none of the superheroes in this universe that r more powerful than the suicide squad combined
I would have added a win for the scene just proceeding the one you show at 8:34, where the team initially walks up to Harley sitting on the car. I personally loved her reaction to noticing them walking up. She goes from looking sorrowful to suddenly sparking back up and being all crazy and excitable again. It was a subtle hint at the complexity of Harley Quinn, showing she isn't just a loon, but that there still is Harleen beneath it all and that she chooses at times to be this persona as it's easier than the pain sometimes. I just watched this film for the first time today and I've got to say, I agree with you that it really wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be. Was it the greatest film ever? No. But most comic book films aren't (including MCU movies), and I say this as a lifelong comic book reader. There was a lot about this film that I think worked and I love that Waller was truly the real villain of this movie, and at times, she's more despicable than the actual villains we're told are the real bad guys.
11:02 I honestly love that scene it shows that she's trying to understand math in terms Deadshot can understand because of how long he was in jail and her now doing new subjects that are different than what she was doing when Deadshot was captured it shows that she's trying to not only understand the problem but appealing to her father's Hitman nature by using the gun shot anology to help him understand the new terms while also attempting to bond with him in the short time they have together it shows that even though she is fully aware of what her father has done it doesn't change her love for him and she is trying to make the little time they have together as memorable as possible knowing she would be a full grown adult by the time he gets out of prison
I thought Jared Leto did a good Joker....Then again I didn't go in with a mindset comparing him to Heath Ledger, Jack Nicholson , Mark Hamill , Caesar Romero, or anyone else.... I gave him a chance came in with an open mind and just watched how Leto embodied the Joker...and I think what he was doing worked for his Joker and what they were trying to do.
And to be fair, Leto said they cut out pretty much all the character development he did in the film (and we didn't get to see that on the extended version, thanks, WB.). Hopefully, they'll show more in the Batman solo movie.
Joáo Cuitiño Araya Somebody needs to call Matt Reeves and tell him to put him in the movie, so we can get a Caesar vs Koba type fight and conflict between Batman and Joker
Timeyin Sholaye Yes, but the problem is, some idiots take their "used to be funny" view on movies as actual unbiased criticism, which is basically brainwashing if you think about it
I like how he glances over the act of how Badass of an actress Margot Robbie is! Remember all those stunts, like how she does a wall run in the elevator? That was real, no wires or anything! Also, now Margot Robbie can hold her breath or 5 minutes because of the underwater scene.
Princess TNT she did her own stunts and learned how to breath under water. plus jared leto walked around the streets laughing and picked the ones that got the most looks
@@beautifulmeeses That's what makes "CinemaWins" a hero. He battles relentlessly against the incessant haterade of the internet youtube community, and actually changes minds in the process.
7:50 and that's my main problem for the film the Joker genuinely loving someone he's a psychopath who only cares about his agenda Harley is suppose to be a tragic victim of abuse not have her love reprocriated IMO having joker actually care about someone (aside from batman) ruins the point of the joker and before anybody says this is Harley's POV the director said joker lives Harley so yeah they messed up the joker
Actually, the Joker has feelings for Harley, but he hates those feelings, he hates that he has them, he both loves and hates Harley at the same time. (At least before the new 52, when he got, well... Really crazy and less fun)
But Paul Dani AND Mark Hamil have gone record to say that Joker does have feelings for Harley. There have been rare cases in the comics where Joker either admits those feelings or he does something genuinely nice to her in his own sick, twisted way.
Shawn Stotler you do realize that not everyone hates these movies right? some poeple actually look at just the good and do there best to ignore the bad, not the other way around like most people.
I adore Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn. Ever since I was a kid, Harley has been my FAVORITE comic book character of ANY comic, and I was so worried about how she was going to be portrayed on screen for the first time. But Robbie NAILED her complexity and the funhouse crazy that has always drawn me to the character in the first place.
I enjoyed Suicide Squat. It has its problems, no doubt about it, but I got immersed in the characters and stories of Deadshot, Harley and Joker. And that's what I went to the movies for.
You wanna know what makes this movie enjoyable ? Its how unique and likeable the characters look and feel. Not one person giving a bland performance and I can remember practically everyone. Each person has a bubble that no one shares. Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Croccy, Captain Flagg, Amanda Walker, even Slipknot. Thats something you cant say in Fant4stic.
with SJ, HISHE, cinemasin and countless others channel are doing all of the negative reviews and shit on every movies nowadays. man, every time there's a new video from you that just make me like this channel more and more. and as you've already said once on BvS, people nowadays are just too spoiled and like it to talk shit about the movie when it wasn't made in the Marvel formula! I mean it is easy to shit on movies nowadays with internet and other stuff that so easy to reach. So, having a positive movies review channel are just awesome.
Mr. Lefty Lefty no problem. I just feel like it is easier to hate movies nowadays, because everyone thinks that they're the critics. especially with easy internet access and how easy it is to post a video online( TH-cam ), negativity are filled with most of the movies review channel( and DC get the most hates).
Kyle Krazer at some point it is still consider a movie review, at least to me it is( and yes, I understand that this the opposite of CinemaSin, but at some point CinemaSin isn't like how they started with. now it is more like bitching and whining more than pointing out what's "wrong"). but then again, with SJ, HISHE, cinemasin etc and all the negativities, I just appreciate this channel more and more and like what they're doing here.
Yeah, I really did not like this movie at all. Couldn't finish it. But I do actually love how this channel takes even the most hated movies and gives credit where credit is due. For me the overall movie remains shit. But smaller parts, such as the neon aesthetic, the soundtrack, Margot Robbie's portrayal of Harley Quinn, all those things I am reminded to show appreciation for :)
Check out assault on Arkham. I thought they did team x a lot better there. I love DC animation, their theater movies need work. But with aqualman and Shazam I feel they’re going in the right direction. If they did a nightwing movie and did it true to character with the constant joking and poking fun at bad guys I think it would do well. I personally don’t like Bruce Wayne. Think he’s a jerk. (Sorry for any bad English/ misspellings. Bad migraines cause typing to be difficult)
Pagman it may be overrated to some but it’s got a giant piece of my heart. But even without the rose colored glasses I have two things to say. That Roger Taylor High note though, and that Brian May guitar solo.
Nathan Hayes I can’t really argue with either of those. I still find it to be an excellent song, just one that garnered much more attention then I feel like it would have deserved.
I've gotta thank you for allowing me to like movies that most people don't. Like most people, I walked out of BvS hating it. A little while later, I saw your video on it, and it changed how I saw the movie. Now I really like the Star Wars Prequels, BvS, and a bunch of other movies I initially hated. So thank you, CinemaWins, for opening my eyes.
Gele Robev Yes. I shouldn't have said "really like" for the Star Wars Prequels. I can just enjoy more parts than I originally could. And I'll never like The Last Airbender. These videos just assisted me in liking more parts of certain movies.
Lord Dongus Dude! I pretty much just said that above to Yal Rathol!! It's about mindset for sure! BTW, I still hate #2 and #3 of the Prequels but I really like #1!! Ha!!
1:11 I love the Joker`s voice. He sounds exactly like Ledger`s Joker. I know Leto embodied his own Joker from the comics but come on,his voice really captures it. (ding!)
Also,I was really looking forward to Harley saying "Puddin" and "Mr J",even before I saw this! Awesome! That`s the LEAST you can do if you`re gonna introduce Harley Quinn!
At least we saw a scene where Jerome while down smiling and the camera panned down on him. I can`t believe NO ONE realized that was a call back to Nicholson`s death in 1989.
This film had a ton of potential. The soundtrack was great, the actors were great, and the director was definitely capable of taking this idea and turning it into a good movie. Honestly, if you ask me, the whole thing reeked of studio interference and corporate mandates.
I beg to differ. Everything CinemaSins says would get immediately counteracted by CinemaWins, not to mention he does that long summary at the end of the video, so... massive counteraction xD
CinemaSins are smart in that they are probably good at making you think you've lost an argument, but their critiques are so inconsistent jumping from real critiques that are sometimes valid and sometimes purely false, to nitpicks that are there just for jokes, to intentional mistakes, I think someone like this guy who seems to have a genuine interest in showing the good parts of films as opposed to cinemasins who are trying to maximize their viewership and income and have become the very thing they allegedly started CinemaSins for to begin with, would not have a big problem debating them at all.
Casey Tatum I think they mean that there is missing footage from the final film that makes it a cohesive film. You still get that feeling in the Ultimate Cut
Days of Future Past brought back...everyone. Superman isn't dead. Loki isn't dead. June Moone isn't dead and I bet she gets to keep Enchantress powers. Zod was some toxic waste mutant zombie of some sort that was suppose to be Doomsday. Then there is Groot.
I've always loved suicide squad it brings my favourite characters to life with cool action, humour and well... pink unicorns. though i wish Katana killed enchantress instead Harley since she didn't get allot of screen time and is awesome.
The Celestial Pineapples! When I saw the pink unicorn in the middle of the fight scene while I was watching this video, I just thought: wait.....why....why is there a pink frickin unicorn?! (I didn't pay much attention to the movie...)
Far from a perfect movie, but not the terrible mess that every critic everywhere seems to think it is. It's a good movie that was the victim of being spayed and neutered by terrible editors so they could make more money off of people wanting the longer, uncut version.
KZico Lack of coherence plot. Boring characters. Painful color pallet. Talks down to audience. Terrible “acting” (save for two characters), and a shitty Ace Ventura Joker whose’s even more hammy than the Adam West version.
the joker is an ideology, he's even said that. that means that every views the joker as something different and there is no wrong answer to what or who the joker is. he is simply just the joker. some may see heath as the ideal joker, or hamill, or nicholson. some may not see any to fit joker properly and only view certain comic adaptions as the "true joker" but at the same time that's kindve the point. everyone is or has part of the joker inside of them and the joker knows that and he knows anyone can become like him. maybe with a few slight differences but in the end, it's just that realization or "super sanity" of how the world is and that all our morals and rules are simply just constructs we've let be placed on ourselves and scarred into our brains through generations. take for instance killing, it's seen as wrong, right? yet everyone already has the "survival of the fittest" mentality. before laws existed, killing wasn't seen as evil but instead it was seen as strong, protecting, or standing up for your beliefs. in some ways, it was seen more a "chaotic-good" or powerful trait but because laws and a societal majority say that it's "wrong" and "unlawful", we now also see it in those ways. in reality, we as humans are all just animals with animal instincts, but now we just have a "higher power" telling us what is wrong or right and the majority, they herd together and listen to those beliefs out of fear because the government, as a higher power, have the authority to control you or punish you in any way they believe fits and all for you disobeying them and abstaining to follow their beliefs. the joker sees all of this and wants the rest of the world to wake up and realize they just hide their chaos. it's not "one bad day" that turns you into the joker. what makes you become him is seeing the world for what it is, understanding it and everyone in it, and having the willpower, intelligence, cunning, and.. well.. a little bit of crazy to tie it all together, to open the eyes of others to see how the world is. he's not chaos, the world is chaos. he sees himself as most likely the most normal one. his abnormality comes from his in-depth insight into how the world truely is and not what we're just told it is.
To most, it's a bad plotline and cookie-cutter characters, but I thought it was pretty fun, since I'm one of those people who watches every movie with my brain shut off. Just loads of mindless action and great casting, and to me, that's all I need.
I freely admit I don't like this film. But I admire cinemawins for giving credit to bad films positivity. And giving this film some positivity is pretty cool. Keep up the good work cinemawins.
I don't know, might just be me but the second one just felt weak. They had three different villains, and barely gave enough breathing room for them (mainly Rhino). I personally just didn't enjoy the second one all that much, but I agree the first one is definitely "amazing". I think the second one would be much better if it only focused on either Electro or Green Goblin.
Austin Hendry Rhino is supposed to be a minor villain. You can't do much with him since in all media he's just a big dumb brute. Electro was the main villain. And Green Goblin was developed into a villain. It was like Dark Knight. Just replace Electro with Joker, Green Goblin with 2 Face, and Rhino with Scarecrow.
sorry, still can't like Jared Leto's Joker. but Margot Robbie, will Smith, viola Davis, and the other suicide squad team are fine, dare I say good? their moments as a team are the few things I enjoyed in this movie.
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens: Well man, when think about it, the cast did as good a job as they could with this movie. But ultimately David Ayer pushed the Joker into stupid territory (and it isn't because he is different than what we've gotten, since Ledger's Joker was very different to anything that we had gotten before, but that it was poorly done), the editing was terrible, the script was a mess, etc. The movie is enjoyable but mediocre at best. My arguments with people that I know is that there is a difference between good movies and fun movies.
+James Lewis You talk with sense... In my view, Suicide Squad is a great Popcorn flick... By no means is it a DC Universe creator... In fact I think thats where it has all gone wrong! DC and WB trying TOO HARD to compete with Marvel and trying to RAM an Expanded Universe down everyone's necks... but as an enjoyable movie, Yeah - It actually works... Could it have been better? OH GOD YES... But overall if you ignore all the hype - Its actually OK! The problem it has is above all else is that it IS an attempt like BvS to create an Expanded DC Universe to rival Marvel... And the Fans are going to be the downfall.. DC is trying NOT to copy Marvel while at the same time obviously copying Marvel by creating an EU... Now, I am a self professed Marvel fanboy - But I would love to see a DCEU... In my view they SHOULD COPY MARVEL 100%!!! There WILL be backlash, Its unavoidable... But Marvel created a formula that WORKED! And even they stole that formula in some respects... Nothing Marvel has done is original or something that has not been done or attempted before - So why cant DC do the same??? Stop trying to make Ensemble movies and give us Stand Alone's as Marvel did with Iron Man, Then Captain America... Give us a Batman Movie with Jared Leto's Joker... Build it Up!!! Give us a Wonder Woman Movie and Forget BvS ever existed!!!! THEN think about BvS and Suicide Squad... Once they have built a sample universe!!! But fans and critics would then be 'Oh they have ripped of Marvel!!!' - MARVEL RIPPED OFF STAR WARS, HARRY POTTER, LOTR... And god knows how many other successful franchises before any of them!!! Nothing Marvel has done is NEW!!! The DCEU is doomed to fail right now as they are trying to be different in a Genre where its better to just do what works... And to hell with teh critics who are going to accuse them of plagiarizing...
karl jonson all entertainment is down to personal preference. there are rules and mechanics in film making which could be considered to be objective, but whether or not the film is good or bad is entirely up to you. no amount of awards or imdb ratings should change whether or not you enjoyed a movie. personal preference and so on and so on :)
you're 100% right. "good" is a completely subjective term. I wasn't even allowed to state "I will make it work 'good'" (That sentence is correct in my language) in my uhm... what's it called lol... pre-job documentation of what I was going to do? Like, my teacher would ask "what is good? What does it mean? When is it good? I have no clue" Know what I mean? Gosh, I'm failing @ language rn.
I have two personal wins to add. 1) When Amanda Waller talks about the WW2 mafia deal. Real history right there, I did a paper on it. I'd call it a "realistic grounding win". 2) At 10:51 when Deadshot fires the gun, the chamber the bullet comes out of is one with the word "love" engraved on it. Best shot in the movie.
When there's already a ton of videos made criticising Suicide Squad and how crap it was (and are serious videos), when one video is made to highlight SS's good points (more or less played for laughs), people decided to bring the movie's criticism here anyway. :/
+Speedstar235 First of all it's hard to call it a movie. Secondly and most importantly people do that so they can get better films, other than this shit.
Praveen Sharma People already made their voice heard through numerous videos since the movie came out on why its shit. Why bring that here on this video as if nobody think its shit?
+Speedstar235 Videos criticising Suicide Squad also get people who defend the film showing up, so why wouldn't people criticising the film show up to videos praising it?
I liked this movie when I watched it, and was kind of confused by all the hate it got. I can see why it wouldn't appeal to everyone, but I certainly didn't think it was bad enough to get THAT much hate. Oh well, it was a fun movie to me and I'm sticking to my opinion!
finpin oh cmon the plot itself is stupid n too early to be made in DCEU n alot of things fidnt make sense. it shows how much this was compromised between yhe studio n director
I think it was a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. Sure the plot was boarderline atrocious but just seeing all this comic characters on he big screen did it for me. In my opinion it's a bit of fan service, but you know what, I'll take that
YES. I'm so glad that Jai Courtney is getting his credit. He was my favourite character aside from El Diablo and he played it so well and he's the ONLY character who played the "Suicide Squad" angle so well. If he gets a "sacrifice" like El Diablo in The Suicide Squad, the character is ruined
The sad part about this movie is that the potential was there, the actors were there but the whole production process was a smorgasboard of horrible decisions, bad timing, budget misalloication and miscommunication. And audience expectations. I mean really, audiences suck. They rarely ever accept going to see the movie instead of going to see what they think the movie should be. I like the dark and gritty psychological look at Superheroes more than the MCU fluff. It's just basically different genres that are mashed together because they have 'superheroes' or 'supernatural' elements to them. As if that meant anything as a grene classification. DC just can't catch a break really.
"MCU fluff" OOF. That one hit hard man. (I love DC and marvel both) it's not fluff. Just because the saturation of the colour is higher doesn't mean that Wanda's grief or someone's death is "fluff" 👁️👄👁️
@@ako3624 Well, I'm not saying the MCU doesn't have it's heavy moments, though I would argue that those are a fairly new development (relatively speaking). But for the most part, MCU movies are fairly light-hearted in tone - with the odd exception, the good guys are usually up against some invariably evil evil and go about defeating it by wise-cracking. They don't usually go through a lot of personal growth in the movies themselves, the growth is usually implied in the in between. And with a few exceptions, they don't really go to a lot of dark places internally either and it's more about just overcoming some sort of superficial hurdle (like becoming 'worthy' for Thor in the span of what, a few days? Less?) That's why I call them fluff. They are light-hearted and colourful and fun to watch, but they don't really do anything to comment on their source material. I mean basically, they are Disney. Not necessarily a bad thing, and many of them can be argued to be decent to good movies, but it's just not my jam.
@@Salted_Fysh you know what, your right. Most marvel movies are pretty light hearted even the "dark" ones like winter soldier civil war and IW&EG or wandavision. Personally I think DC has SOME AWASOME materials, it's just the studio keeps interfering and now they have it pretty messy but I watched the Snyder cut and that thing is PRETTY AMAZING. so DC better be making great movies soon!!! Big fan of joker and batman psychology!
It's a great movie, the characters are well thought out as well as the brief but impactful backstories, along with great special effects, a decent villain motive, and to top it off, a great mix of comedy and seriousness, with a few creepy moments.
people like me who thought this movie is going to be awesome because of the trailer and got fucked in the ass with this abomination piss of shit. the trailer was sooo misleading. it emotionally scared me :(
It's like Tom Cruise: Do I like his personal life or his organizational associations? No. Does almost every actor who has ever worked with him say he's a great, generous, talented, veteran who makes the sets of his movies great places to be? Yeah. I feel like Leto fits that same mold. I think he makes each move he's in better with his performance and attention to the craft. But he's also problematic. It's a classic conundrum: Can we separate art from artist?
I didn't like the "human" feeling of this joker. He just seems like a Gangster who painted himself white and dyed his hair green. As you said he might be feeling suicidal over Harley... SUICIDAL ! OVER HARLEY ? What I always loved about the joker is that he seems to be the only character who knows he's in a comic book, so he doesn't give a shit about life or any consequences since it'll all be resolved by the end of the story.
Joker has never been as crazy about Harley as she is about him. He loves her, don't get me wrong. Her crazy matches his in a way that both clown criminals love. But Joker loves himself and his fight against Batman more than Harley Quinn. Harley has left for months, returned, and Joker didn't even realize that she was missing, except maybe noticing Bud and Lou were getting crankier. I'm sure you've seen and/or read Mad Love, so you know that their relationship isn't exactly kosher. I will always say that Joker loves Harley, but he lovers her like one would love a car or a gun. They are important and need to be taken care of if one wants the objects to work properly, but one can easily replace either of those objects, just like Joker believes that he can replace Harley. He's the JOKER. The one. The only. He fights Batman, and he is complete. Harley Quinn is just an added bonus. Of course, Harley's perception of their relationship is completely different, but that much is obvious even when watching this movie. So the novelization saying that Joker was suicidal because he missed Harley...maybe if it was Quinn missing Joker, but not the other way around.
DisneyLover258 i understand that. im suggesting their switching up the story. and im not sure if you are saying im mistaken about the novelization or not, but that really is something that happens in the novel. just like joker having complicated feelings towards Harley which he likes to pretend don't exist
About Harley and joker I guess you could look at it through the toxic Stockholm syndrome way. But how I choose to look at it like the joker is incapable of truly loving anyone but he also could have killed her at any moment. He kept her around for convenience and later on developed an attachment to her. That is why he goes crazy when he realizes she is truly gone. He needs her to feel complete and without her he cannot truly be Joker. At least not totally. As far as Stockholm syndrome goes I guess you could say they both experience it. Both feel like they have to have the other for one reason or another. Harley is prepared to go on without him. And joker is unable to leave her in blackgate and instead rescues her even after his “death”. Weather you call this love is up to you but this is how I choose to see it. Who are we to say these two messed up individuals don’t call this love. Most of us are not insane like they are so we probably don’t completely understand it 🤷🏻♀️
Justice League vs Suicide Squad 2024? that phrase will be the irony of the film when they have them all together to fight against a greater evil hahaha
And yeah, it needed a world ending event despite what marvel fanboys bash about. They do it every fucking time in every movie. If you're going to whine about why Batman or Wonder Woman or whoever was already in the universe not showing up. Then where the hell were the Avengers in all the other solo films? and don't give me that "timeline" crap. MCU timeline has been raped more times than the X-men Sony CU and that's saying a lot.
@@yenyerkun yeah, fandoms are among the most toxic things in the world. Though I can explain some of the apocalyptic post-Avengers things out there. Iron Man 3 had the president kidnapped by terrorists. It's a US internal affairs. Sure, SHIELD probably should have jumped in, but they might be in cahoots with AIM anyway for some sweet tech or got something else to worry about. Winter Soldier has SHIELD corrupted by HYDRA. Cap and Black Widow don't know who to trust. And since they expedited the launch of the drone helicarriers, they need to act fast. Thor: Dark World. It's a 9 realm ending event, but Thor and his scientist friends only figured it out in the last minute that it'll happen in Greenwich. They're the closest that can respond to that threat. It'll take like, what, several hours for an Iron Man to fly from New York to Greenwich? By that time, the Dark Elves would have won. Dr. Strange and Dormmamu. Yeah, that's world ending, but magic isn't really in the Avengers' playbook at the time. And the attack on Hong Kong sanctum was pretty quick, no time for the team to mobilize and respond. And the magicians and Ancient Ones were so mysterious that Iron Man doesn't know who they were until Dr. Strange ruined his walk in Infinity War. Ok, Guardians 2 with the Expansion gonna warrant some Avengers showing up. But given the fact that it happened so quickly and it happened on a small town in Missouri, I don't think the Avengers had enough time to respond to that quickly. So far, that's about it, besides the team-up Avengers movie. Ant-Man is basically a personal Hank Pym/corporate problem and Homecoming is Spidey stopping a street weapons manufacturer/thief in a bird suit. Black Panther is, well, an internal Wakandan succession crisis. And obviously, Thor:Ragnarok is in freaking space.
Definitely not Dendi making it r rated won't make it a good movie. but these are supposed to be villains, as far as I know bad guys actions and language isn't exactly pg 13. It's stupid to make every movie r rated but this is a movie that deserved it. a well written r rated movie will do them more justice than a well written pg movie.
Definitely not Dendi well let's be honest when the first trailer dropped we all probably thought this movie was going to be dark & probably rated r that what I thought tbh
r rated yes. espacally since deadpool proved it works. tho i get why it wasn't. it's like making batman r rated. these are characters kids love. they have cartoons and kids read the comics. deadpool is an adult character. i mean harely was created in a cartoon. same with batman v superman. that film should have needed to eb r rated.
One thing I absolutely love about this movie is that they almost make the villains feel like tired, run down villains that know that they are doing wrong, but don’t care cuz it’s the life they chose to live. It’s really a movie about acceptance, with an interesting and unique theme.
THANK YOU for finally some positivity! I watch a lot of Suicide Squad videos, so my TH-cam recommends a lot of people hating on it, and I get so sick of it. It's nice to see someone appraising it for those of us for actually do like the movie.
I really liked Diablo. In a movie about a team of villains and anti heroes they could've easily gone the route of pyromaniac but instead he was reserved
I can't believe he didn't mention how Margot Robbie actually did the elevator stunt herself, in heels, with no wires.

The reason I like “Wins” over “Sins” is, he leaves room for you to disagree with him.
CaptAssassin I never really liked Cinema Sins because I think he’s always bitching and doesn’t look at the beautiful part of the movie
but Cinema Wins tries to look at both
And Jared did try his best I think the problem was he was a little intimidated to play the role after he saw Heath ledger
I also don’t like cinema sins because he always sins for product placement
Companies use product placements to earn more money when making films whilst adding realism because when you look around you can see products all around you
if you didn't like this movie, that's totally fine, if you like this movie, don't feel shame about it.
Respect ✊
That’s a fair point. While I can see how these films can be better than how Warner Bros. is dictating the series, there are moments in this film that I like that _just_ edge out the issues.

Why is it bad?
Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn is perfect, she was my favorite part of the film.
Leto wasn’t the best Joker by far, but I think he actually fit into this movie very well
Taylor Kawiti Agree.
I think his Joker is very underrated.
I think he is more of a modern day Joker

Well put. Be your own person, who cares what others think. If you like it, like I did, it's all that matters!
"I do not believe something created for entertainment can be judged objectively" thank you!
This only applies if you think art is created for you, subjectively, or if it's created as a critic piece of commentary on the world
@@Stathio I think there is a way to objectively measure the quality of art.

Kinda shows how subjective everything is. It's our choice to see the same thing as positive or negative, or somewhere in between.
Yes, it's an art and that's what art is...entirely subjective so in order to properly critique it must be looked at objectively. That cant be done when you're a fan of something that is "rival" to "DC" because current popular opinion is "DC is trash"

i just hate the fact that they made Harley and the Joker a "#relationshipGoal" they are the prime textbook example of an abusive relationship.
Birb I love their relationship in the comics and old cartoons.
Jennu xx That version was blatantly abusive.
i hate that as well...
they somewhat romanticized/idealized their relationship...
Richard II No, the cartoon was good. It made it really clear how much Joker actually cared about her. None.
I actually like this new take on their relationship.
Or (spoilers for Rise of Skywalker)
Palpetine as a father. Or a grandfather. Or with a wife. Or in any kind of relationship really.
I like Jared Leto as the joker. He had very hard acts to follow. And he can only act to what is written.

I thought Boomerang coming back was fitting. What happens when you throw a boomerang? .... They come back! :D
You are literally not making any sense at all here.

I honestly liked this movie but Harley Quinn and joker keep me from loving it and good for you to stand by your opinions
I actually sympathize with Enchantress. She was worshipped only to be betrayed and trapped for thousands of years, then when she wakes up shes bonded to someone who hates her, and is being blackmailed with the threat of death by a psychopath like Waller.
You've actually done a better job at making Enchantress an interesting villain than the actual film did.
I know!
no, TRITON K175, he just spelled it out for you because they didn't spoonfeed it to you through exposition in the movie... you had to actually watch and pay attention.
Chase Jenks I agree. He never really got a chance to be the joker. Because they were assholes and cut out almost everything.
Jared letos joker is awful
Joáo Cuitiño Araya Somebody needs to call Matt Reeves and tell him to put him in the movie, so we can get a Caesar vs Koba type fight and conflict between Batman and Joker
Chase Jenks I wasn't comparing him either... he was just a shit joker
Even if I didn't really like this movie, CinemaWins is always better than overly pessimist CinemaSins.
nah cinemasins is funnier

AboAbdulable Except thats the bloody point. To be funny. I am not surprised you didnt get it
Definitely not Dendi thank you exactly, whiners will whine

Yes, but the problem is, some idiots take their "used to be funny" view on movies as actual unbiased criticism, which is basically brainwashing if you think about it
I like how he glances over the act of how Badass of an actress Margot Robbie is! Remember all those stunts, like how she does a wall run in the elevator? That was real, no wires or anything! Also, now Margot Robbie can hold her breath or 5 minutes because of the underwater scene.
For not or, sorry
Princess TNT she did her own stunts and learned how to breath under water. plus jared leto walked around the streets laughing and picked the ones that got the most looks
Being a good stunt woman doesn't mean she's a good actress
She learned how to breathe underwater? Amazing, I didn't realise that was possible!

Also the squad needed more time to flesh out their characters
And a consistent tone long story short I don't like this film
I think of it as the Joker having his favourite toy
Actually, the Joker has feelings for Harley, but he hates those feelings, he hates that he has them, he both loves and hates Harley at the same time.
(At least before the new 52, when he got, well... Really crazy and less fun)
But Paul Dani AND Mark Hamil have gone record to say that Joker does have feelings for Harley. There have been rare cases in the comics where Joker either admits those feelings or he does something genuinely nice to her in his own sick, twisted way.
I liked this movie. I like The DCEU, I like the MCU. Yes, people like me exist.
I know. I may like MCU a bit more, but DCEU is great too.

OH, THATS WHY HE WAS FAMILIAR, GOD DAMMIT, Spartacus is a really good show and I loved his character in it
tbh suicide squad is only movie he acted really good.
+Ryan Ferguson Yeah, I really enjoyed this movie. Quite a lot.
Next time you make a serious comment, please check your grammar.
Ryan Ferguson Yaah I love suicid sqwat

with SJ, HISHE, cinemasin and countless others channel are doing all of the negative reviews and shit on every movies nowadays. man, every time there's a new video from you that just make me like this channel more and more. and as you've already said once on BvS, people nowadays are just too spoiled and like it to talk shit about the movie when it wasn't made in the Marvel formula! I mean it is easy to shit on movies nowadays with internet and other stuff that so easy to reach.
So, having a positive movies review channel are just awesome.
ChaSe Yú thanks for taking the owrds out of my mouth 😆😆😅
Mr. Lefty Lefty no problem. I just feel like it is easier to hate movies nowadays, because everyone thinks that they're the critics. especially with easy internet access and how easy it is to post a video online( TH-cam ), negativity are filled with most of the movies review channel( and DC get the most hates).
ChaSe Yú This isn't a movie review channel. This is meant to be CinemaSins' polar opposite; find the good in any movie.
ChaSe Yú I get it.
Emma Echidna trying giving it a shot.

I love the score. Its brilliant music. Every cloud has a ray of sunshine I think.
K den that song is severely overrated.
Lord Dongus Sooo, is there any movie you don't like? Like, ever?
Gele Robev
Yes. I shouldn't have said "really like" for the Star Wars Prequels. I can just enjoy more parts than I originally could. And I'll never like The Last Airbender. These videos just assisted me in liking more parts of certain movies.
Lord Dongus Oh. Ok. Cool then. :D
Lord Dongus Dude! I pretty much just said that above to Yal Rathol!! It's about mindset for sure! BTW, I still hate #2 and #3 of the Prequels but I really like #1!! Ha!!
I started watching The Phantom Menace again after watching the video and I fell in love with it again
Rodrigo Forense But Jerome seems more like Jack Nicholson`s Joker as I`ve noticed.
You and cinamasins should make a debate video.
Lol that wouldn't be fair to this guy. The guys at cinemasins would eat him alive.
I beg to differ. Everything CinemaSins says would get immediately counteracted by CinemaWins, not to mention he does that long summary at the end of the video, so... massive counteraction xD
Who would win really comes down to what movie it is and wether the movie has more sins or wins
RUBIX3 nah, CinemaSins dudes are literally just smarter
CinemaSins are smart in that they are probably good at making you think you've lost an argument, but their critiques are so inconsistent jumping from real critiques that are sometimes valid and sometimes purely false, to nitpicks that are there just for jokes, to intentional mistakes, I think someone like this guy who seems to have a genuine interest in showing the good parts of films as opposed to cinemasins who are trying to maximize their viewership and income and have become the very thing they allegedly started CinemaSins for to begin with, would not have a big problem debating them at all.
I love the analysis at the end of the movie. It's different and really is unique and justifies every point you made in this video. 10/10
You forgot that there is still missing footage from the movie
Casey Tatum I think they mean that there is missing footage from the final film that makes it a cohesive film. You still get that feeling in the Ultimate Cut

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought this while watching this movie.
Far from a perfect movie, but not the terrible mess that every critic everywhere seems to think it is.
It's a good movie that was the victim of being spayed and neutered by terrible editors so they could make more money off of people wanting the longer, uncut version.
Why everyone hate this movie? I mean really love every second of it. To me I love to see Jared as the joker.. Idk why so many people hate this movie 😢
I must say, some of your wins are just as weird as sins.
I freely admit I don't like this film. But I admire cinemawins for giving credit to bad films positivity. And giving this film some positivity is pretty cool. Keep up the good work cinemawins.
Please do the Amazing Spiderman movies. They're really underrated and are my favorite superhero movies.
KingNazaru First one was great, second was... disappointing at best.
Austin Hendry No. Both were Amazing.
KingNazaru Amazing Spiderman 2? Really? You should probably watch YMS's review of it.

Tj Locke feel like ppl only nitpick the movie but didn't praise the cast for their work which are the gems of the movie
Tj Locke gtfoh Leto's joker was awesome
Caption America hey how old are you? 7? Do you understand the character of The Joker? Do you understand what makes a good character?
I don't believe that something can be "objectivly good/bad" in the first place...
Marc Magma why not?
karl jonson all entertainment is down to personal preference. there are rules and mechanics in film making which could be considered to be objective, but whether or not the film is good or bad is entirely up to you. no amount of awards or imdb ratings should change whether or not you enjoyed a movie. personal preference and so on and so on :)
Ultra Golden Bacon Exactly. I couldn't have said it better.
in terms of rules and mechanics of film making there was somethings wrong with this movie
you're 100% right. "good" is a completely subjective term. I wasn't even allowed to state "I will make it work 'good'" (That sentence is correct in my language) in my uhm... what's it called lol... pre-job documentation of what I was going to do?

I liked this movie when I watched it, and was kind of confused by all the hate it got. I can see why it wouldn't appeal to everyone, but I certainly didn't think it was bad enough to get THAT much hate. Oh well, it was a fun movie to me and I'm sticking to my opinion!

Yeah
"MCU fluff" OOF. That one hit hard man. (I love DC and marvel both) it's not fluff. Just because the saturation of the colour is higher doesn't mean that Wanda's grief or someone's death is "fluff" 👁️👄👁️
And I just realized I'm 3 years late. So how about we skip the part where everyone calls me out and Shits on my explanation✨
Less?)
That's why I call them fluff.
I feel like Suicide Squad gets to much crap. I personally really liked it. Now it's considered the worst film of all time? Seriously, it's not bad!
Dylan Fagan there's a difference between a good movie and just enjoying a movie, even if it's bad
It's a great movie, the characters are well thought out as well as the brief but impactful backstories, along with great special effects, a decent villain motive, and to top it off, a great mix of comedy and seriousness, with a few creepy moments.
Whoever said this was the worst movie ever clearly never saw The Room or Birdemic
Dylan Fagan yes if it was bad then how it grossed 745 million dollars without a china realease.
people like me who thought this movie is going to be awesome because of the trailer and got fucked in the ass with this abomination piss of shit.
the trailer was sooo misleading. it emotionally scared me :(
Make "Everything great about Mad Max: Fury Road".....or any other mad max movie if is possible, please XD

Exactly. I don't care whether the movie had a corrupted structure. I *enjoyed* myself in the cinema.
"enjoyed myself"
now I get it Margot Robbie in shorts is what you talking about huh you know what I mean
Complex villains are what Marvel movies, and a lot of movies really, are sorely lacking in. For me, a villain is what makes the movie.
I didn't like the "human" feeling of this joker. He just seems like a Gangster who painted himself white and dyed his hair green. As you said he might be feeling suicidal over Harley... SUICIDAL ! OVER HARLEY ?
What I always loved about the joker is that he seems to be the only character who knows he's in a comic book, so he doesn't give a shit about life or any consequences since it'll all be resolved by the end of the story.
he was. its in a novelization of the movie they explain he was getting ready to kill himself. she'd been gone for a while and he missed her.
DisneyLover258 Unless this incarnation views Harley as the favorite toy someone took away from him👀
Albert Moisan. Joker? A gangster? Who painted himself? You mean Jack Nicholson?
Most of us are not insane like they are so we probably don’t completely understand it 🤷🏻♀️
These videos are so much better than Cinemasins. Enjoy the positive vibes. Keep up the good work.
I am really glad I subscribed
same
Bolo Santosi same
+clorox bleach HI DADDY!!!
Bolo Santosi me too. I have along list of movies I wait them to do.
I am too!
I dont care what anyone says, I love Jared Leto's Joker and I would love to see him be the villain in a Batman movie in the near future.
They should've made this movie longer that was one of my main problems about this movie & should've made it rated r.
Sancheezy i didnt really like the movie but i dont think making it r rated would have made it better.
Mason Dufur i think making it r rated would be better because it would allow them to act more like villains.
Finally
Some positivity about Suicide Squad
YAYAYAYYYYAYA
I love this video. Like Suicide squad gets some Hate. but I honestly love the movie.
its just bad from any logical standpoint ;L
haha. The irony Donald! The irony...
Suicide Squad is awesome plain and simple.
I just watched it for the first time last night and loved it.
Angelina Petersen It's honestly one of my favourite movies.
It's nice to see someone appraising it for those of us for actually do like the movie.
everything great about Suicide Squad: Everything
Squirtlebot 2002 good joke
Everybody laughs
lol no
Everything great about your comment: Nothing
Squirtlebot 2002 no, scrub
I really liked Diablo. In a movie about a team of villains and anti heroes they could've easily gone the route of pyromaniac but instead he was reserved
2:02 imagine how strong u have to be to knock someone out with one punch under water
Slipknot only said what, probably 5 lines?
I absolutely loved Margot Robbe in this movie. I want to see Quinn and Poison Ivy movie together so bad.
See, I LOVED Deadpool and Suicide Squad. I watched both movies about ten times now. ♥
Viciousity Plays high five bro🖑🖑 i though i was the only one
Joker you are
Knowing that the Diablo self-sacrifice wasn't originally planned but probably a WB mandate is proof that Warner execs didn't know wtf they were doing.
