I don't even watch CinemaSins anymore, his sarcasm has devolved into snarky nitpiking at this point and I'm only ever pleased when someone graduates from the prometheus school of running away from things. You, on the other hand, actually take the time to analyze the content and i leave feeling satisfied with the good vibes you spread.

I used to really enjoy CinemaSins, but then I noticed it really affected me a lot more than I meant it to. I couldn't just enjoy things without thinking of some snarky, sarcastic comment. Don't get me wrong, I love sarcastic comments, but when you can't even enjoy something because all you're doing is tearing it down, it's not fun anymore. I wish I could still enjoy their videos, but I hate what they do to me.

Definitely Not Tommy Wiseau I find it’s a preference of 1st act problems (Captain Marvel started slow) or 3rd act problems (Shazam’s final fight goes on too long). They were both good, though.

Hey. Wins, something that I feel you might have missed with the wine shop scene is that Homer referred to the sea as "wine-dark" (afaik owing to a difference in the perception of colour), which makes the scene even better.

I thought it was a cluster fuck of stories, and the action scenes are way to jarring, and the slow mo is still way to played out in DC films, but I did enjoy watching it.

DC is definitely catching up to Marvel. DC learnt a lot from their mistakes, but marvel has experience. I loved wonder woman because it felt brighter yet was serious, reflecting Diana’s nature. Aquaman was just pure brightness with great shots, reflecting how Arthur gives off the feeling of happiness. Scenes on land being more constricted made it feel like Arthur really belongs in the ocean where he is free. Shazam! That’s just a good movie. It was lighthearted yet had a lot of growth for the character. Definitely a ton of cliche moments. I remember mid way through the movie and already started saying “oh no that’s going to happen”. Yet in the end, the movie achieved what it wanted, creating a movie that reflected Shazam. A goofy kid which doesn’t really know what the world is like yet, everything is still a joke, and when trouble comes knocking, you can feel the mood of the movie shift to portray the fear that he had. It was great filming and I’m really happy with how DC is doing.
Marvel movies always feel realistic-ish and tends to have a serious vibe, doesn’t always have that mysterious vibe to it. But DC is starting to embrace the fantasy of their universe. They’re starting to really just build a world that’s just fantastic and unbelievable. A world where there are moments when you just wanna be in it.

I am a bit late to the party (4 years late) but something I think is missed, is the monster talking about Arthur being a half-breed was more to get a negative reaction. The creature has been both guarding and waiting for someone to wield the triton and so it was a test and he almost failed by getting angry and fighting and the very mention of his ancestors in a negative light.
In honor of Easter, how about Rise of the Guardians next? That movie deserves more recognition and love

few things i admire about this movie.
1: how, like some of my favorite non MCU hero movies movies, liek Venom and Deadpool, comedy and action very well balanced
2: the use of CGI for lots of the animals had me fooled into thinking this was real footage of them, maybe it was and they inserted the people in digitally, and i dont mean the animals they ride i mean like the large groups of animals casually swimming. with animals it's hard to make me not tel the difference so massive kudos
3: the underwater fights here are fast paced, not slow like a lot of movies i've seen where underwater fights slow things down, so again, kudos.
4: orm and black manta. Both gret designs and villains
5. Jason Momoa. That dude was perfectly cast
honestly this is one of, if not my favorite DC live action movie, but its easily like top 3

I actually like that we have a mundane base costume, where cool armor can be added on top for special circumstances. Having a simple costume now means we might get an upgraded one in the future.
Also, its probably hard to swim in armor. So it makes sense.

This movie, alongside Wonder Woman gave me hope for the DC Theatrical Universe. For Aquaman they acknowledged the cheesiness and campiness and don't treat it with shame but respect. It has no issues or embarrassment with being an Aquaman movie or a DC movie and takes pride in all of those things.

When Orm broke Arthur's trident, it was in two, Orm fractured Arthur's spirit in their first battle but eventually Arthur overcame it and improved, hence getting the king's trident. A new since of pride
When Arthur broke Orm's, it completely shattered, as Orm said himself to paraphrase, My trident has never known defeat. So Arthur symbolically shattered Orm's spirit.

Man, my favorite part of this movie is how Wan shot the Fight Scenes. It doesn’t feel cramped like a traditional fight scene, like the Audience is somewhat the Atlantian’s “Spidey Sense”.

Aquaman is great movie ever.
Recently re-watched this movie, and I like it even more now. Just an all-around great superhero movie with insane action and just fun. I kinda like it when they go all out and don't take itself too seriously. And this movie is just gorgeous to look at, the underwater scenes are spectacular.

I would LOVE if you covered Pitch Black, the first of the Chronicles of Riddick. It’s probably my favourite movie of all time, and it is in my opinion one of the last great (albeit cheesy at times) sci-fi thrillers.

I was more surprised with how good this movie was than any other movie. Not only is it comic book accurate, it's also funny, beautiful to look at, very well choreographed, and possibly best of all: Made Aquaman cool.
The reunion with his mom really reminded me of How To Train Your Dragon 2, which is obviously a win

@@TehMomo_ It's mostly dependent on the Aquaman version. Some of the runs, especially some of his animated ones, his powers are... lackluster. Sure, he can swim real well, and talk to fish, but... some continuities that's kinda it. He's not that strong, by superhero standards; tough, again by superhero standards; etc. Really, it's all down to that. A few of the animated series, and I think one or two games, completely messed up his powers and caused a lot of people to see him as extremely boring.

That's a little harsh calling Yamcha a joke when he was introduced around the time where DB was the most lighthearted and silly. So were Krillin, Tien and Chiaotzu.

Honestly, Aquaman was the most fun I've had watching a superhero movie in a while. Right up there with Endgame, and Infinity War, Ragnarok, for just pure Fun.
Those white royal guards are also some of the most beautiful designs I've ever seen in any movie ever. Aquaman was fun, gorgeous to look at and did for me what a comic book movie should do, show me a good fun time, tell a decent story, and build a world I want to visit but not live in.
It actually got me excited for Shazam, when i had no plans to see it before I watched Aquaman.

Aquaman isn't "pure fun", it's a well written and intelligently done film, unlike the rest of those marvel garbage films.
@Spencer Lu Moron the mcu is garbage. It's the same boring formula over and over and over again with each movie. Aquaman is far better than the mcu in it's entirety. It's an actual well written story, every actor was great, the music is better, the comedy isn't forced and doesn't take away from the serious moments where you're allowed to actually feel the impact of the scene, and it actually does things differently. This isn't even a rarity for the DCEU since every movie is similar and every movie is far better than the bland and boring crap that the mcu shits out each year. I suggest you acquire some actual taste cause it's very clear you have none.

I really liked this movie. I also really liked the rest of the DCEU movies. The closest to meh is Suicide Squad, and only because the soundtrack is patronizing, the rest was a real blast.
My point? Don't ask me if something is a good movie, because apparently I just like everything.
