5:25 murder of sonic the hedgehog nick name for sonic 06, I just realized Sonic has the same arc as DC, Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06 are like Batman v Superman and Justice league seems to be a repeating pattern, as soon as something becomes too dark and gritty it gets backlash and then gets rebooted, then people complain about the reboot and it moves back a step. Sonic Forces was probably the best sonic game tone wise in a long time, just the gameplay wasn't very good. Not that it was bad, it was just underdeveloped. There wasn't a lot to it. It's hard to make games around sonic because he's a fast character. Having to create levels that span for miles because of his speed, while also not having a game that is short, is a real challenge. I've never personally minded that the play time on sonic games is short because a lot of the enjoyment comes from replayability. Sonic games are the ones I've gone back and replayed the most times. Outside of the mario 3D games. Especially with the project unleashed mod for PC, that makes unleashed soooo fun. Having the sonic generation controls on the unleashed levels. It's so good. I think that's why Sonic ended up making a good movie. He's always been very cinematic. I'm glad the Sonic movies were a success.
Glad even John knows the wife was a MILF But yeah overall I think the best part of the game is the incredible characterization, everyone just feels right and I hope we get more of this slice of life style content with sonic. I feel like to the IDW comics don't really give itself time to slow down as much as I would like to have these kinds of moments.

Also Sage and Metal Sonic with “let’s go dad” T-shirts that just hype up Eggman is priceless.
A Johnny Vs Ace Attorney marathon would be soooo good!!!
Love to see you branching out, and like some others in the comments, very happy to see The Holden's from Our Life: Beginning and Always! Though I think The Suarez family is my favorite. Interested in the rest of the video (since I enjoyed the game), but wanted to post first since seeing representation of that game always makes me happy!
Never thought I'd see Johnny review a visual novel game, and a sonic game at that
this was a great video, it works very well VS and the your jokes always land in such a nice way
16:12 Having Johnny say this while never taking his eyes off the camera made me double-take.
This game made it canon that Shadow eats coffee beans with a spoon, and I love it for that.
The Secret Rings gag caught me so off guard. I appreciate the obscure callback.
0:05 did you get that footage from the Maui fire?
I am a simple man, I see a Somecallmejohnny sonic video I click.
Always wanted to hear Johnny's thoughts on this game! Glad to see it happen!
The writing in Forces was very inconsistent and undercooked.
I see Cove Holden. Has Johnny played Our Life??
sonic fans crave good character interaction
I love how you made a follow up to that quick joke you did in your Knuckles Chaotic Review you did back in 2017
Glad even John knows the wife was a MILF
But yeah overall I think the best part of the game is the incredible characterization, everyone just feels right and I hope we get more of this slice of life style content with sonic. I feel like to the IDW comics don't really give itself time to slow down as much as I would like to have these kinds of moments.
...well this is a funny way to prep for superstars and the possible round 2 for sonic frontiers
6:02 suprised you didn't immediately ran into the cheeky Easter egg of this game.
If you input a decent chunk of modern sonic character names... the game will actively _prevent you_ with a quirky joke
I am going to buy the Megamall styled hoody next paycheck. This channel is great. I don't even play much Sonic (I do play other games covered) but it is still enjoyable to hear about.
Now that we've had a story adventure can we expect a video series on Zork? I wanna know your score!
My fiance is the biggest fan of Our Life and I never expected to see that game ever referenced on any big TH-cam channel, much less SCMJ. To all you visual novel fans out there, I highly suggest giving Our Life a try. It's very wholesome, you have a lot of options for your character, and it's just genuinely a good time.
🤣 Wasn't expecting the Ninja Hawks Incident to pop up in this video, but _damn,_ that shit never gets old!

“Who name’s their henchmen Johnny? That’s an a…..e’s name!”
Johnny: "...[game] has an unhealthy fascination with checking trash cans."
* Honkai: Star Rail has entered the chat *
I really liked this review Johnny! I definitely think you could make this style of video work with visual novels like phoenix wright, would love a Johnny Vs. Series over that. Especially with the little gags here and there for added comedy effects keeping me engaged!
This was legit one of the funniest videos you've made imo. I hope you do more VNs
Bruh, I got a Steam account purely for this game. I’m that much a die-hard Sonic fan!
Fun fact, there are 3 names the game will straight up not let you name the player, one of those is Pheonix Wright.

I'd recommend Radical Dreamers, especially since it comes bundled now in the Chrono Cross Radical Dreamers Edition thar released on everything
I'd never heard of this visual novel, so I checked this video out thinking that it was about what Sega has done since the mid-1990s.
I really wished this game had more optional stuff to it (like teaming with Amy from the start). But I just adore it. ^^
Truly so much effort to inspire.
I know it's the same hat Knuckles wore in the OVA, but with that hat he's wearing in this game, he looks like one of Ken Penders' echidnas, and I am 110% not ok with that.
Definitely one of the most fasvinati things to come out of April 1st.
I love this game so much. This, Mania and Frontiers are by far the best Sonic games since Generations
8:44 - " That's a downer..." - Marge Simpson
Great reference, Johnny!
Sonic's Captain outfit needs to be DLC Outfit
great work of the review, I can't wait to see more visual novel reviews. honestly the way you talked about the game, works well and it like how you did with the squarenix games and metal gear.
3:52 jhonny is still traumatized from the birds 👀
