I'd stand up and cheer too were I and extra in the audience. To see all these stars and what was essentially the equivalent of a Broadway show? Whoo Hoo!
I can see why Gavin MacLeod loved this and the critics loathed it. Gavin is playing a completely different character here, a Broadway star straight out of New York, and it’s too unsettling to accept that Captain Stubing of all people would dance like a Broadway star. Kind of like the Brady Bunch Variety Hour.
Can you believe that Van Johnson once starred as "The Music Man" in London? The video worth it to see Ann Miller's macaw dress --- thanks for the posting
My goodness! I do love the stars. But,My goodness, the death of the golden age of television really went out with a song didn't it? Poor Ethel M. all those stairs must have been terrifying. "Please don't let mama break a hip! Yeips! Love this with all my corny heart!
Hey I've seen you before! I actually found Getty images of this scene before I found the video. I didn't know any video footage existed until 40 seconds ago. You can see in the 4K pictures that his face defiantly shows exactly what you were saying in this comment
One of my Fav Love Boat episodes, ol Capt Stubing gave em everything on the bravado
Oh man...I sure do miss the 70s. This was great fun to watch again!

Wow! Thanks for preserving this "jump the shark" moment. I must have Capt. Stubing's suit! Della Reese made a great pirate float!
I didn't know that The Love Boat had anything to jump from!
This unfortunately was the jump the shark moment for the LB

RIP DELLA REESE(1931-2017)
Didnt realize he could be that good.
I wish they could have done a number like the end there with the original cast of the daytime soap opera Dark Shadows.
👍
The episode The LB jumped the shark
It's so tacky... That it's fun!
I love it, I love it... oh wait I am gay. LOL
to bad some of those musical acts in some episodes (Ginger Rogers) were cut/deleted from the german tv.
I think what Isaac was serving her was constant booze!
I thought this bunghole was the captain? Who driving the boat?
Did the Captain come out of the closet? Just kidding....
I can never watch this episode of this of The Love Boat. It's to strange.
This is just all fucked up wrong how sad
