Hey, Arlene! Yes, they definitely provide a special kind of reprieve from the concrete. Similarly though, we think parks everywhere (especially well-maintained ones) offer opportunity for connection and rejuvenation.
Probably one of my favorite videos now on TH-cam... Not even a New Yorker and this soothed and touched my soul in a way I didn't know I needed! I so hope REI considers (as others have said) making this into a series featuring various parks in the U.S. :-)
This is a wonderful video, REI. From the narration, cinematography, music score, the whole thing captured me in ways that few videos of it's length do. This deserves more views and recognition, and I hope its lack of does not discourage the creators or any future similar projects. I will watch every single one
I love this, living in Flatbush, Prospect Park is very often my refuge and i love being a part of the community of people who all have a connection to that special place
love how new yorky these comments are. wes anderson, john mulaney, joe pera...... i am amongst my peoople. Oh and the video was just so healing, soothing and necessary for me to watch. thank you to the creators! I'm in Bushwick, so the park is too far for me to get to. I'm half-kidding.
Suprised by the view count. This video is phenomenal and I felt so touched by the people, the scenes, animations, music and the spoken words. It felt very different in terms of story telling on the internet lately - intensely heartfelt and very welcoming! Everyone in the video is just so darn wholesome haha!
absolutely loved this video! truly captured the serenity and beauty of nature and the importance of parks. Romanticising walks through nature and serenity.
@@rei I’ve been watching in bits an pieces as the day goes along. It’s reassuring to know we have these well spoken, educated (and funny) kids amongst our communities. Makes you feel hopeful.
Was just here for the Fourth of July with some friends!! Absolutely beautiful, you see little scenes of American life play as you walk by. Can't recommend it enough!!
Wes Anderson just called. Here is my new film! Get busy on the over complicated set of the main office, and que up some fantastic 70s and 80s esoteric rock!
I think this film should include a tribute to the staff who clean up all the trash visitors generate (which early morning park users are most familiar with)
That young Birder crew were great and their dialog will certainly hold me over until the next Wes Anderson movie comes out
The parks of New York City are the best escape from the craziness and what keeps us together. It is our Narnia

Just lovely. It’s so refreshing to watch something that isn’t trying to be clever, funny, snarky, or sarcastic.
Marty seems like such a sweet soul 💖 what a wonderful caretaker
“It’s not where you live, it’s how you live” ❤ 💯
That’s it right there❤
This was a gorgeous production! Please don't stop working on films like this, they're very much appreciated 🙌
As one of the creators, thank you very much!!! Love to know people are enjoying it.
beautifully shot, what a wonderful video.
Beautiful. Music is excellent. Lived on 5th Ave/President for 13 years and had several Buscemi run-ins!!
Awesome! We appreciate the kudos and your fun fact!
I came for the Anthony Ferraro original tunes, I stayed for the excellent production. Cheers
❤
Hey, where could i find more about Anthony Ferraro? Thanks!
I love this park so much and it means so much to me

This is soooo perfect. You caught it. Thank you Steve and everyone.❤

Great! What a lovely time I had reliving my years of living in Brooklyn and working in Prospect Park. Thanks for this.

This video was well done. Thank god for public parks. We need to invest more in them.
I love this so much.

Loved this! A wonderful celebration of a park and its people!!
Thanks, Jane! That's exactly what we were aiming for!

Heck yeah! What a lovely surprise to see in the morning.
Good morning! 🌞
This is magical!!

this was absolutely delightful!
Incredible video! I was in that park for the entire half hour.
Wonderful! I grew up in Brooklyn, spending so much time in this wonderful park. Thank you very much for this beautiful and interesting video.
I love warblers!! Over in western Oregon-in mid spring, for a few days, several dozen feast on a tree’s berries just outside my living room window 😍
This was a beautiful experience- thank you.
Great video. in a kind of way, this video reminds me of the film Blue in the Face. Little ny vignettes
Wes Anderson just called. Here is my new film! Get busy on the over complicated set of the main office, and que up some fantastic 70s and 80s esoteric rock!
Woah😮
The birders are incredible
Where can I find the soundtrack to this?
Same.
the only thing this is missing is a John Mulaney cameo and it would be absolutely perfect
The music is so beautiful! Is there a plan to release any of it? I've tried searching online but can't find any of these tracks.
The intro track is great, would love to the full version.
imagine being able to stargaze in prospect park though oh boy what a different era
Hit that thumbs up if you’re part of the Marty fan club!
I NEED to know what that opening song is. I fear it's original which means I can't listen to it on repeat :(
soundtrack release is in the works!
Support your workers better REI
🎶 I think it was the Fourth of July…🎶
I think this film should include a tribute to the staff who clean up all the trash visitors generate (which early morning park users are most familiar with)
Nope. It’s perfect the way it is. 😊
Elias (and all of his friends) seem to be 60 year olds trapped in the body of a kid
HOW is there a whole group of these geriatric children there??
I love the music of the intro but i couldn’t find anything on the web about Anthony Ferraro. Any advice?
try Astronauts ETC. and his name. he is a special dude
Does anyone know what the music is???
Original score by Anthony Ferraro :-) (from Astronauts ETC. and Toro Y Moi)
1 of every 4 are beetles. not 3 of every 4.
these bird watchers have only appeared en masse over the last couple years
Tell the birders that there are bald eagles in the park!
Great 😂
Get a hold of Steve Zacharias. He has many scripts for you.
this is Joe Pera territory

Yes, yes yes yes. Go to Prospect park. Do not go to Fort Greene Park, horrible place...
No mention of the 2 polar bears who mauled an 11-year-old boy to death at the Prospect Park Zoo?
Why would they mention this from 1987?
