Theres a theory that the dead maiden at the player starting spot was killed by The White Mask Bastard. Calling you "Maidenless" knowing full that he caused it.
No, he gives you 3 festering bloody fingers. But after you invade 3 other players and return to him with the bloodied lord of bloods favor, he will induct you by tearing off your fingernail, which causes it to be an infinite use invasion finger, like the one you get at volcano manor. Oh and also you have permanently red eyes, at least until you replace them with madness eyes (rip dragon eyes my favourite).
@@rocccostudiosonce youve beaten elden beast, you can take his rememberence and turn it into one of two weapons (the names escape me), ones a greatsword and ones a one handed mace. you want the greatsword. the ash of war on the greatsword is called wave of gold and it just sends out a wave of gold colored energy that on a fth build (which with larval tears, you have access to just long enough to farm what you need), does massive damage. the vast majority of the albanaurics dont move until attacked and this wave OHKOs them. pair it with the shard of alexander, carian filigree crest, gold scarab talisman and gold pickled bird's foot and you can easily clear 4 mil runes in less than a half hour.
I still always liked using the badge right after he gives it to you even though he says to wait. All I can do is imagine him watching you vanish and going "Fuck..."
It’s interesting that the first NPC you get to meet in the game leads you to Mohg, who then leads you to Miquella, who eventually will lead us to the DLC.
When I was playing I didn’t realize you could attack Npcs so when I attacked him I wondered if he had unique dialogue or just does stuff like “ow, Watch where you swing that, oof” little did I know they fought back.
NG+ I stepped out of that’ll door and absolutely shredded him to pieces, I also attacked Ranni as soon as she spawned in the church but she teleports away if you do that. NG+ was my revenge run on EVERYONE for making me run around the entire map doing their cryptic quests.

First time I found out people kill Varré at once. I mean, he calls me maidenless but also shows me the best rune farming spot as well as a demigod that's hidden by even other demigods. Another similar thing is everyone seem to love Big Boggart. Albeit he treats you much worse and with less respect than merely calling you "maidenless" and on top of it he steals from snake girl.
Truly the best revenge is the one where you get him to trust you invade him naked and clap his cheeks like a tambourine while wearing only the pumpkin helmet it’s the only answer the only logical answer

you can do either online invasions or go fight the npc at writheblood ruins you dont neeedto be in offline mode to do the second option. also you can invade other players but you dont have to fight them you can quickly spawn into their world and then leave and do that multiple times then go back to varre to get the next quest step

I can’t imagine killing him. He’s how I get to Moghwyn’s palace immediately after killing Godrick. Get through the frenzy village to the church, defeat Vyke, get the maidens blood from the church. Back to Varre, boom. Pureblood Knight’s Medal
If you are weak to magic and couldnt get the glintstone key for precipice of anticipation, you can always go to the church that vyke invades you at. His maiden is in there and you can use her blood too
Just a note of caution: if you invade him first, "before" clearing out the area youd normally progress through by going through the warp gate at the consecrated snow fields, you wont be invaded by the white mask invaders, locking you out of some gear such as the mask that boosts your damage in the presence of blood loss
You forgot that before you invade him he invades you 3 times in the blood swamp and after the 3rd time you get his white mask. If you invade him/kill Mohg before doing this you will miss the mask.
I only do this guys quest for the awesome rune farm and yes there are better farms but so early in the game it's awesome it also helps that it's pretty much risk free.
I’m in the middle of my first play through. I was a samurai, and so I started with the bow. I had been practicing with the bow on the zombie guys through the cave. I eventually got outside, and I thought he was just another zombie so I shot him from the exit to the cave. Did not realize there was a quest associated with him until now lol.
So cool tidbit. When he tells you to go get the blood of a maiden he tells you it can the maiden can be anyone’s. The presumption is you return to the start of the game to get the maidens blood there however you can also use vykes maiden in the church behind where you fight him. I’ve yet to see if you can use hyetta seen as she’s a three finger maiden.
The theory that he killed our maiden would be too obvious. It was Melina who did it, as she's probably affiliated with the Gloom Eyed Queen and wanted a pretext for us to take her to the Erdtree.
The true quest actually involve not using the item and waiting to enter the mohgwyn palace using the portal in the consecrate snow fields near the end of the game.

If you go down the ledge after you beat the blood boss you fight 3 varras and after you kill the last one you can get his mask

You can change them at the mirror in Fia's room, you can have red, yellow, or normal eyes. Not a permanent change

I did a run where I used the invader trick to go straight to the Capital, and because I haven't gotten any greatrunes he is still there just vibing.
I did not know that i could kill NPCs so i spared him and did half of the quest unknowingly

Side note. You don't have to win the invasions or NPC invasions. You just have to invade 3 times. Doesn't matter if you win or lose.

I did the offline invasion but never beat that bloke (died 10 times) and the quest was still completed.
