It seems like such a small thing -- but I really like that you give compass directions. Like: "head out the north exit and turn east" -- that sorta thing. In other guides I've seen it's usually: "you wanna head out this door here and go this way guys". The compass directions are such a small touch -- but it's what turns a good guide into a great guide. You are right. I found it on Tanith's chair after defeating Rykard. I was following the steps on the video, so I killed Rya before obtaining the item. I got the talisman, but did I miss anything else apart from the message?
This is my speculation, but as long as you don't kill Tanith, Rya, and Patches. I really think their storyline will carry on in DLC. Patches gives you something to give to Tanith when you meet him at the shaded castle. Rya's letter, and what it says.. Just makes me think this story ain't over yet.
I think after you finish this quest line and defeated the boss, if you go back to the serpent boss area at the valcano you will find a continuation to the quest and if you kill whoever is there and reload the area, you will be invaded
Right. After killing Rykard, you can touch the grace in there, teleport back to Volcano Manor and tell Tanish about Rykard's demise. And then, go back at the place you killed him. There, you will find Tanish trying to devour what remained of Rykard. You kill her with a single strike and then, the Knight that stands beside her at the throne will invade you. Kill him too and then, the quest will be truly over (you'll be able to loot Tanish's clothes from her). And after that, you can find the Tonic of Forgetfullness at her throne. Not sure if Rya is still alive at this point, though... never went there to find her.
this quest line was something entirely different, it literally touched my heart in ways more than one. truly amazing, i laughed, i cried, i was challenged and above all the boss fight became my favorite in game!! thank you for the amazing guides as always!!
I think this is more of the Volcano Manor as a whole Questline. Since Rya's Questline is just basically her leaving on her own adventure to find herself or straight-up just kill her as per her request.

Wanted to comment this since it’s not included in the video: after getting two great runes you can access Leyndell through the capital ramparts entrance on the North side of the capital.
Rya is at the erdtree gazing hill site of grace because she tells you to go to the ravine veiled Bridge if you continue her dialogue. The end of the cave puts you up on the Altus plateau at the abandoned coffin grace site. Just down the hill from her.
She's one of the three maidens you can get right? One gives you torrent, the one becomes the contents of an ashtray, and then there's this one which turns out to be a giant snake lady. Our options are very limited this time around lol
if you take the back way up to Altus, I can confirm she's at the other site instead. I almost missed her as was looking for her at the lift. Then when I was exploring the area I found her round near the back way in, at some ruins.
@@ItsShatter Yeah, her quest is a bit of a confusing one for sure. I almost missed her entirely at the lake. I only found her as I was looking for blackguard (missed him as well initially)

Sadly doing from soft quests spoiler free is damn near impossible. Best you can do is progress as much as possible then lookup just the next step for it one by one
I'm just gonna sub now because your channel will be crucial in my NG+ playthrough. Luckily, I haven't done anything to ruin this quest yet but have done so for others.
The ending feels so bittersweet all things considered. The manor didn't have many people in it to begin with so with everyone now gone it just feels lonely. You even grow to miss Rya.

@@rockmatias Okay, imagine having a quest log, then you will want to have F5 quick save? It breaks the whole concept of the particular fantasy-world. I am bad at understanding quests in souls games, because you have to know what every word means and so on, but i watch and read, try to remember, that's the better experience in my opinion.

@@TheStanislavson Fallout 1 and 2 are really good at giving you unmarked quests whitout leaving the player in dark, it's not fun having to search for quests in guides, the game should be complete on itself
There's one part of this you missed, instead of running around the virgin maiden, you can instead take a lift to the left of the grace at the temple of eiglay, avoiding the maiden.
@@Ghostkiller__166 the point is you can not use that elevator without doing the path shown in the video the FIRST time. If you have the elevator unlocked, use it.

I always thought Rya's quest was closed out to me when I found my own way to the Volcano Manor and spoke with Tanith. But I later discovered Rya was still looking for her necklace. I think it may be because I rejected Tanith's request to join forces with her.
I REALLY wanted to make sure accepting her quest wouldn't jave negative effects elsewhere in the game so thank you you making that very clear. My Tarnished head cannon wouldn't allow me to go against the the Fingers and the Eerdtree.. bit what they don't know can't hurt them ahahah
I missed her in snake form after the first contract. I'll have to check what happens next. I actually didn't see her when she moved from the first room with the contracts. Hopefully I've not messed it up, and just missed a bit of dialogue.

Great guide. Everything was super clear and too the point. However, on the first few steps of the quest, in the future please make it extremely clear if steps can be skipped before explaining the steps. I didnt know that I alr skipped the first few steps to I had to kill boggart for basically no reason
if you went to Altus in any way but the grand lift, you'll find her just up the stairs by the Erdtree-Gazing Hill grace. she's not directly at the grace.
Not even joking, I waltzed into the place, ran around, jumped to Rykard and ONLY THEN remembered Rya, then everyone in the Manor deserted the place and I’m left wondering what I did wrong 🧍♂️
After you recieve the Magma Shot, you first have to talk to Rya again in her location from when before she changed into Zoraya, and then reload (at least that was the case for me)
Man it took me longer than I’m proud of to find volcano manor as I didn’t spot the path by the starbeast. This would have saved me literal hours in my blind run xD
On my first play threw she had glowing eye's in snake form. Wonder how rare that is when only like one in 10k enemies have the glowing eyes thing with extra runes? Yes I took a screen shot although I wasn't sure if it was normal or not it was different so I did.
Is Rannis quest the only one that has a happy ending? I swear this game is just one tragedy after the other. It's like they took the tragedy of Father Gascoigne family and multiplied it by 10.
For the second spawn location, that’s not at the grand lift you kinda have to go up the stairs and like walk around a little bit she’s not gonna be right at the side of grace
You can still get the Tonic of forgetfulness even without the dialogue. When you return to Volcano Manor after everyone has left you will see it sitting in Lady Tanith’s Throne. There is also a sword where Bernahl sat called “Sword of Bernahl” that allows you to continue learning skills that he offered.
The downside of using Raya to quickly get to Volcano Manor is you miss the Comet Azure Sorcery. Despite the fact that I’ve never used it myself it seems like a fun sorcery to have. My personal favorite Sorcery though is Swarm of Flies. The fact that you can send multiple swarms of blood flies at your target and their blood loss damage stacks is great. It’s a really good spell to use against enemies that are weak against Blood Loss.
It's such a fun spell and it gets wacky against alot of bosses when you buff up pop a wondrous flask then just kamehameha them to death with a 10 second laser beam

If you kill Holsow during the invasion, will he be absent in Jar homie's quest? I'm at the point where he should show up, but Jar homie is stuck saying he hopes his uncle beats up the poachers...
The Hoslow you invade is Juno Hoslow. Diallos is the one that shows up at Jarburg and I think he will show up there after you invade and defeat Juno Hoslow and/or defeat Rykard. If you follow this guide to the end I think you’ll find Diallos arriving at Jarburg soon afterwards. I do have a Diallos Questline video in the works (probably will have to wait until after Bernahl and Patches questlines)
@swordguystore dotcom that’s a good question.. Diallos Hoslow can show up in Jarburg before you kill Juno so it is possible to do that at the very least.. but it’s still just Diallos Hoslow there

I finished the normal volcano Manor questline and I killed the boss and I never told her the secret does that end the quest

Small side Rya second location is not directly next to the erdtree gazing hill grace but around a corner going into lux ruins very nearby

This whole area was really immersive besides the annoying enemies, I like how it encouraged exploration and rewarded that with quest progression
I did not like the taurus scorpion on the top of one mountain, though.

It's the one real failure of Elden Ring. Most NPC questlines are just so vauge and so easy to screw up without doing anything obviously "wrong".

The first encounter isn’t optional as you can’t speak to Blackguard if you skip it by talking to the lady at Volcano Manor.
It locked me out :(
It's optional for Rya's quest. But like I said in the video at 3:08, it's not optional for Blackguard Boggart's quest.
Good guide, though. I get lost easily so it's nice to have clear cut directions to get from A to B.
Tanith has bonus dialogue before you talk to Rya the second time aswell.
This area is super cool once your dexterity I think is up high enough where you can run through the lava like you would run on regular ground.

if you went to Altus in any way but the grand lift, you'll find her just up the stairs by the Erdtree-Gazing Hill grace. she's not directly at the grace.

Not even joking, I waltzed into the place, ran around, jumped to Rykard and ONLY THEN remembered Rya, then everyone in the Manor deserted the place and I’m left wondering what I did wrong 🧍♂️

Something to note is that if Rya doesn’t appear on the lift of dectus, then she’s in lux ruins, the place behind erdtree-gazing hill SoF.
After you recieve the Magma Shot, you first have to talk to Rya again in her location from when before she changed into Zoraya, and then reload (at least that was the case for me)

Man it took me longer than I’m proud of to find volcano manor as I didn’t spot the path by the starbeast. This would have saved me literal hours in my blind run xD

On my first play threw she had glowing eye's in snake form. Wonder how rare that is when only like one in 10k enemies have the glowing eyes thing with extra runes? Yes I took a screen shot although I wasn't sure if it was normal or not it was different so I did.
Is Rannis quest the only one that has a happy ending? I swear this game is just one tragedy after the other. It's like they took the tragedy of Father Gascoigne family and multiplied it by 10.

You can get the tonic after doing the jarburg quests for some reason. Not sure why but the tonic appears on her empty chair.
makes me wonder if she will be added to the dlc if she went on her journey coming back as a new quest line

For the second spawn location, that’s not at the grand lift you kinda have to go up the stairs and like walk around a little bit she’s not gonna be right at the side of grace
1:56 if you cannot find.Look for the golden seed, go directly to seed then look for south west direction,there will be ruins,search that area
You can get teleported to volacano manor by rya at the top of the dectus lift
You can still get the Tonic of forgetfulness even without the dialogue. When you return to Volcano Manor after everyone has left you will see it sitting in Lady Tanith’s Throne.
There is also a sword where Bernahl sat called “Sword of Bernahl” that allows you to continue learning skills that he offered.
The downside of using Raya to quickly get to Volcano Manor is you miss the Comet Azure Sorcery. Despite the fact that I’ve never used it myself it seems like a fun sorcery to have. My personal favorite Sorcery though is Swarm of Flies. The fact that you can send multiple swarms of blood flies at your target and their blood loss damage stacks is great. It’s a really good spell to use against enemies that are weak against Blood Loss.
You can still get comet azure. It doesn't go anywhere. It will be there waiting on you whenever you go through that area
It's such a fun spell and it gets wacky against alot of bosses when you buff up pop a wondrous flask then just kamehameha them to death with a 10 second laser beam

omg,i just found on the left side of the knight lift and make it so feels like just blends in with the rest of the area when get off the lift
guys... uhm i killed the demigod boss after give rya the frikin amnion and after that i comeback to volcano manor and she wasnt there so that mean i failed the quest ?

Friends have explained the quest incompletely, there is more. There is also a quest where Rykard's body is.

If you kill Holsow during the invasion, will he be absent in Jar homie's quest? I'm at the point where he should show up, but Jar homie is stuck saying he hopes his uncle beats up the poachers...
The Hoslow you invade is Juno Hoslow. Diallos is the one that shows up at Jarburg and I think he will show up there after you invade and defeat Juno Hoslow and/or defeat Rykard. If you follow this guide to the end I think you’ll find Diallos arriving at Jarburg soon afterwards. I do have a Diallos Questline video in the works (probably will have to wait until after Bernahl and Patches questlines)

@swordguystore dotcom that’s a good question.. Diallos Hoslow can show up in Jarburg before you kill Juno so it is possible to do that at the very least.. but it’s still just Diallos Hoslow there
Me after seeing all the content I missed because all I did was find the manor, complete the assassinations, and kill Rykard: 😮
If you go back to where you killed Rykard after you have fully completed everything in the manor you see some cool lore. I won't spoil it.

Anything to do with volcano manor (bernahl, Rya, patches) make sure to complete bernahl and patches target requests before defeating Rykard
