I'm here for the videos, how you make them and the different topics. The TH-cam algorithm will never work in anyone's favour so don't think much about it. Make good interesting video and put a good description in and people will find them. I came here to the channel for the Chia and now you've got me interested in checking out stojr so in my opinion what you do is working. Have a great day and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
Many thanks for your great comment. Your support is greatly appreciated. Glad you are finding the content interesting, I just hope others are too. CHIA might come back on my channel once they have decided and implemented the new plot format and consensus. Hopefully the price goes up in the future too. I am enjoying playing with STORJ, but it has been stressful, especially today when I had to migrate my node to another machine. The STORJ docs are not 100% accurate and there are a lot of gotchas, so watch out for a video on that! Thanks for watching.
The youtube algorithm directed me to this video, and it's the first I've watched of yours. Sorry to hear you're having to shut down your operation. Would love to see videos on your setup and future plans/endeavours.
Hi, only shutting down my CHIA operation, which was my only operation to be fair. Should have diversified a lot more. Will still be making content of some sort or another and hope you will stick around to watch. Mainly investigating AI Compute options like Salad and VAST, also STORJ and possibly even a reverse back to spec mining initially. Plus anything else that surfaces and seems worth investigating. As for the TH-cam algorithm...I am very surprised it is still suggesting me to viewers. Whenever one of my videos starts to get traction, they pull it and the graph falls off a cliff. Every time, and it's a re-occurring theme that is past coincidence now. Really wish YT had some competitors out there to make them start to treat all content providers the same. Many thanks for watching mate.
Yeah, it is a shame that prices are being controlled and unjustifiably increased by OFCOM as and when they wish. If I hear another person say 'Net Zero targets' again....
Sorry to hear you have had to make a similar decision. Its not good when you have to. It's hard to turn-off something you have built, putting time and pride into its creation, maintenance and growth. Thanks for watching.
i also saw some other youtube channel, and i think you also mentioned it, that STOREJ project. Renting out storage for cash or something? maybe a good alternative for the HDD space? For me i still like to play with massive HDD, i just dont want to involve GPU's, due to the 0.28 cents per KWH, and also dont have any solar.
Yes, STORJ is what I intend to look at first. Need to investigate exactly what data they are storing and in what format. It looks like they incentivise you to stay with them longer by holding certain portions of your pay-outs. Might be a nightmare to setup, not sure yet but will let you all know how my investigation goes. Thanks as always for watching.
Same. Down to 5GPU's mining Xelis during cheap rate. Going up to the eqivalent of 39c. Looking at AI/Compute so would be interested in following your process as i get bogged down with some of the other content. Theyve just laid Gigafibre outside so ill have 1GB up and Down so im looking at getting that put in. Nel nulla mors huius patriae erit.
39c? Wow. Surprised you can run 5 GPU at that price. Looking into a lot of AI stuff. More Salad, VAST AI and have signed up for phase 2 of 'hyperlink'. Good to hear your broadband is upgrading. Might be worth trying solo mining once its active. Better chance of getting blocks? Thanks for watching.
Yep - I bet British Gas had record profits as usual. It was better in the days when they had competition. They got rid of all that with the government and watchdogs help.
Hate to see you go - I've always enjoyed your content even if I didn't comment (my bad). My 30TB Evergreen farm has proven itself to be the worst crypto mining purchase decision I've ever made, but as it costs virtually nothing to run, I'll likely leave it running as it's the only way I can ever hope to recoup the cost. What a huge disappointment this has turned out to be. Best of luck, mate.
No worries mate. Everybody is busy with their own lives. don't expect people to drop what they are doing to comment on my channel. Sorry to hear about your Evergreen purchase. It seemed like a good idea to a lot of us at the time. I am not going anywhere for the moment. Looking to see If there is anything I can offer of value to my subscribers now that CHIA is off. Thanks for watching.
Yes, A lot of farmers are losing confidence in CHIA. I see a lot of it in the discord. Large PB farmers not wanting to replot again with the change to the plot format and consensus algorithm, the depleting pre-farm and the more frequent sales of it, the lousy XCH price etc. etc. Brian Freeman made the right choice getting out when he did. Definitely worth looking at other proof of space projects should they arise. Thanks as always for watching.
Sad to hear channel dying. Not sure if crypto mining out of fashion for home users (I do not do it, I come here for the hard drives and servers). Plus here in UK would be insane to do this now with costs of elect. At least you are monitoring your costs and noticed making a loss - so no point in doing it, bad business. And having guts to cut it off and report here it excellent: don't throw good money after bad. Maybe start a new project for people to follow: setting up storj node or something similar.
The bigger channels are surviving in the crypto scene but they have ridiculous electricity costs of 7 - 8c per kw/h, so profit still available to them. Your channel can survive If you have sponsorship and can get those sponsors to give you a plethora of freebies for your own use and to offer as giveaways. Just look at Red Panda, Hobbyist Miner, Sebs Fintech channel for starters... they will always survive getting their hands on so much free hardware. Have got a few things to look at as potential new projects, it's whether anybody will be interested in watching videos about them. Will just have to see. Thanks for watching.

@@crypto-carlos Wow! You really know how to pick a challenge! 😱
Indeed looking forward to that video!

@@crypto-carlos Most people seem to be spec mining on MMX. If you have SSD space Subspace is launching mainnet soon.
Same here mate - UK leccy prices make it too expensive as a hobby right now.

You should buy electric power company stock ? i guess another year of record profits ?
Yep - I bet British Gas had record profits as usual. It was better in the days when they had competition. They got rid of all that with the government and watchdogs help.
yea where i live pretty much no mining is profitable, thanks pg&e i hate you

hope you can reboot your farm soon. but my confidence is vanishing as well. i think im gonna keep a look of madmax own project.
