    I remember when I was stacking cakes for the first time before starting my business and how nerve wracking it was. Now it feels totally different. We all start from somewhere and get better with practice ;)

All you instructions are so clear and so incredibly helpful. Looking forward to doing a much better job on my next test cake for my daughters wedding cake (OMG). Hi Lynz, absolutely love your videos, you explain everything in detail and make it easy for us to comprehend. May I ask if you use a glue between the ganache and fondant, eg brushing the ganache with water or sugar syrup? (Always seems such a shame to have huge holes in a lovely cake!) Thanks heaps, keep cool over there! X

    • @CakesbyLynz
      @CakesbyLynz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Sue, Thank you so much. I'm so glad you enjoy them. If I'm finding that my fondant isn't sticking to my ganache I usually mix a little water with some icing sugar to create a glue and brush this over the cake to help the fondant stick. I find just by adding a little icing sugar to the water it makes it a little stickier than just water on its own. x x

    When you put the cakes in the fridge to firm up and then put the fondant , doesn’t the fondant starts to melt? How do you manage condensation ?

    • @kasandrathach6777
      @kasandrathach6777 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The freezer does not cause condensation or sweating, it is the change in temperature that does when the cake is moved from the freezer to room temp. To prevent sweating and condensation from occurring, move your cake to the fridge from the freezer for about an hour before serving to let it adjust to room temperature! Wrapping the fondant cake in a box also helps prevent this!

    I found this really helpful thank you so much, could I just ask your advice on something please...I have to travel a two tier cake (the top tier is taller than the bottom one) for a 3 hour car journey, the day before the wedding, would you stack before or after arrival? Thanks x

    My friend has asked me to make her wedding cake. 2 tiers with buttercream. Will a thin cake board between the two work?

    Do you have to use cake boards for the layers or you only use cake boards when you use buttercream instead of fondant? +Cakesbylynz
