The South African audience has difficulty separating the Face and the character, I think it's because our brains associate the face with entertainment, pleasure and escapism. So when we see Bonko out in the world living his life , the mind doesn't see Bonko the person it sees Mqele who I watch every Thursday.
The wife as a production had a lot of misses and few wins and I personally feel some of the risks they took in terms of storyline and scenes were miscalculated , but one thing I absolutely can't fault them on is the casting ( for season 1). Bonko's delivery was just amazing , he gave 100% and some .

I think this topic deserves a revisit - a friend of mine is not a celebrity but is handsome and as such hyper sexualised, he says women don't respect his boundaries and if he dare complain no one takes him seriously instead they'll tell him he should just use it to his advantage, even HR don't do anything about his complaints and bari ke bari it really hurts him because the attention is not welcome and makes him uncomfortable.

Throughout this whole video my brain was spazzing 😮 which also made me realize how much media, entertainment and social media control our perception whereas it’s entirely not true we’re so desensitised from reality and the person behind the art.
