Truer words were never spoken.....black female customer service.....rolled eyes, talking like NaNa with an attitude like I'm gonna do as little as I can and still get paid. I learned my lesson whn I lived in NYC, whenever I get a black female customer rep on phone, hang up and try again.

I believe they put black females on the front line of customer services because of how masculine they are--they know black women have slick mouths and they are built to put up with a lot of bullshit

Don’t take it personally, cause they do the same thing to me, and I am white. My sister loves fine jewelry, but she told me once, that the only way she gets halfway decent customer service has to do with the fact that she dresses up in a nice dress and expensive jewelry.
A lot of them make money off commission sales, so they treat us like we’re wasting their time when we don’t look like a rich person.
I can’t stand sales ppl, some of them are the biggest snobs, which is stupid because if they had their life all together, they wouldn’t be a sales person (not making enough to buy these luxury goods to begin with.

An older black woman would following me around CVS every time i came in the store, so much so, that i made a complaint to her female manager, i would go there around 730am so it would only be me in the store pretty much, and i was in dress business causal, and whenever I told any women i knew or worked with they would write if off as "oh she just likes you", so my experiences were completely discounted, which made the matter even more infuriating, as an older black man i have to experience these micro and macro aggressions everyday of my life, no matter how I'm dressed, not matter how i carry myself, I feel imposed upon for just walking down the street being myself. So when "blk wmn" jump on the WS band wagon and will go out of their way to make sure you feel alienated and disrespected for no good d---n reason, it's disheartening..

I notice that black women don't respect professional black men if they're working in customer service- They feel black men who conduct themselves with professionalism is intimidating...

I came up in the 70s and 80s and have been around black people my entire life. This seems like a more recent trend. In 1990 I spent some time in Dothan, Alabama and never saw another white person unless I left the neighborhood where I was staying. Never had a problem and the women were all very pleasant. In fact, I was working just inside Baltimore earlier that same year and had the same experience. I busted my head open running from a dog and it was a black woman who helped me. I believe her name was Dimitra. Something has happened in the last couple decades that has had a very negative effect. Frederick Douglass said that there is no better raw material to make ladies and gentleman than Africans and most of my experiences until recently supported that. I believe the interests who like to claim they are here to help and empower are actually working against them.

Your not wrong, incorrect in your statements. I worked retail sales for over 30 yrs and took myself of the floor cause I got tired of trying to get Young people ( both male/female) who don't understand customer service and its importance. This space is to limited to fully break it down. I'll touch on these points and keep it moving. First, mall stores typically run like this. Any mid to high end store in these locations tend to breed this behavioral mindset. Then there's the leadership team and what they preach. The training in most of these locations isn't great. Women tend to have a group mindset. If one on the team is miserable, having a bar day and she happens to be the one looked upto, it trickles down to the rest. Lastly, and this is not a excuse, simply put it is what it is, the associates have a daily quota to fulfill and receive alot of pressure from leadership so time is money. If they (unfairly) think your there to yank their chain they're not going to invest the time

187thenewbreed - Unfortunately, black women here in California and everywhere else I've been, are generally unpleasant towards black men.
I had the misfortune to be the recipient of unprovoked disrespect from a black female cashier at a Target store. Her attitude was unprofessional, unfriendly and unbelievable...
Upon completing my purchase at the checkout line, ms. attitude swung her finger in my face and somehow lost her cool because I just asked for a bag.
A white lady behind me in line helped diffuse the situation. And of course, ms. attitude was nice and docile with the white lady.
The good news is that I typed a letter detailing the incident and made a trip back to the Target to personally give the letter to a manager. I also spoke with the manager..... a couple days later, I received a phone call from from the store manager. She informed me that she fired ms. attitude, as there had been other complaints about her.
